Completely agree, I don't like celebrating the 4th and Thanksgiving personally either because of it's history. I just found it quite strange that all of the sudden people started protesting the 4th when their rights were being taking away, and not because they don't make sense as holidays to celebrate.
Boycott the 4th of July and turn it into a day of action for reproductive rights. We WILL take back our rights.
Our lives and liberty depend on it.
I do find it weird that all of the sudden it's boycott the 4th of July now. Like it's for a good cause I guess but it's strange that all of the sudden it's boycott the 4th of July.
Literally a lot of women want to boycott it now, despite minorities having disparities with the 4th of July long before the roe v wade overturning. I don't know it just kind of seems too centered on just white women wanting to boycott the 4th now.
It kind of reeks of ignorance in a sense that white women are just now boycotting it because "we can't celebrate independence day when we as women just lost our own indepedence". They didn't really care to see other issues with the 4th until now. (from what I can tell)
Like don't get me wrong it is for a good reason. But it's completely ignorant to just boycott the 4th now because of reproductive rights, when minorities and women have been getting screwed over by America from the very beginning.

Baymax in the new Baymax! show buying pads for a girl who got her first period and getting help from people, including a trans man.
Some people are really mad about this, when he is literally a health care robot interested in people's physical and emotional needs.
A new mode of production arises out of the newly networked masses.
Hmm I don't think radfems are very left wing actually
Sylvia Rivera calling out gays and lesbians for their trans exclusion in 1973 at the Christopher Street Liberation Day rally (x)
biphobes are like "It's disgustingly misogynistic to base a woman's entire identity around men/her relationship with a man and assume that all things she does is for men and that she has zero identity outside of the men around her. but it's perfectly fine to do that to bi women of course โค๏ธ"
"Pro life my fucking ass. Let's talk about all the native kids you've killed!!"

cool that thereโs a trans guy character in that new baymax series or whatever. idc it will never detract how funny it is to me that they thought a man saying โthese are the type of pads i use for my periodโ wasnโt an obvious enough signifier of him being trans so they just. put him in a trans t shirt. like JUST. a tshirt. in case you missed that this is the trans character. this is the trans character guys. cant you tell by the Giant Trans Flag heโs wearing
lgbtq+ supporting parents who are also oblivious are the funniest types of allies because itโs awesome to have parents that love and accept u for who u really are and stuff tho it also means that whenever anything remotely gay happens in a show or when i see anything in a store with a rainbow pattern on it my mom chooses to show it to me exactly like this
I feel like islamophobia in the lgbt+ community, especially from white people, is something that is often overlooked
but as a muslim lesbian...it hurts. it's alienating. you're harming us when you say religion can't coexist with our identities because islam is as much a part of my identity as being a non-binary lesbian is!
there are plenty of legitimate criticisms to be made about white christianity and it's weaponization against the lgbtq+ community, but lumping muslims in with that is so harmful
the same people who persecute lgbt+ people also persecute muslim people, and if you can't see us as your allies or fellow community members, then you have some islamophobic views to work out
and before you tell me that muslims don't accept lgbt+ people, I'd like to mention that I have come out to multiple mujtahids (religious leaders at ismaili mosques) in my lifetime and they have all welcomed me
for every white lgbt+ person who doesn't accept my faith, there is a muslim who accepts my sexuality and gender identity
do better. because this is our community too.
I'm not gonna lie I'm not really a fan of when people who aren't bi make slutty bisexual jokes unless it's with friends who they're comfortable with like that is. a thing that we are stereotyped for and it is actually a thing that makes people hate us and puts us in danger. so.

Maybe this is harsh but honestly, it feels like a lot of tribal enrollment requirements are actively punishing people for forced assimilation, especially when enrollment requires having an enrolled parent.
One generation is all it takes. One person who decides not to enroll for their own safety, who decides not to enroll their children for their safety, and enrollment is now permanently out of the reach of that family.
Idk, it just feels. . . cruel, I guess. Same with age cut offs. What are you supposed to do when your tribe's enrollment cut off is barely past adulthood but your parent(s) refused to enroll you or you didn't find out you weren't enrolled (or that it was even an option) until you were an adult? Are you just fucked forever?
