Heh. You know, come to think of it⌠The entrance to Mysterymanâs room is eerily similar to the entrance to Papyrusâ room.
The door sprites are the same, just with/out decorations and one is greyed out. (Although, so are the rest of the doors in Sans and Papyrusâ house, so take it with a grain of salt.)
When you enter both rooms, you hear a door shut and all music stops. Itâs the same door shutting sound effect.
And although this part is really stretching it, if you look at the shape of the rooms and where Papyrus/Mysteryman stand, thereâs some similarity there.
âŚ..And, actually, if you overlay the roomsâŚ.
Itâs exactly the same size and shape, just entered at different points.
so iâve been looking at postâs about papyrus mysteriousness.
so theres this thing, where he extremely forgetful, mabye he has some amnesia or something, right? well i canât say for certain but lets go with that, in order to get to the point.
so in the offical undertale tumblr ( link:Â https://undertale.tumblr.com/Â )
theres this post they made, playing as sans and hereâs a peice of what he said:
as im watching another theory, about how its strange, how sans says âitâs rude to talk about people that are listeningâ which is one of the direct quotes from the gaster followers. then he goes on to quote his brother.
i also know papyrus is one of the only characters who doesnât have an asterisks. the asteriks is normally associated with âgasterâ
and heres a few links that help this point even more:

and possibly moreâŚ
the thing with shyrenâs lower body caught my attention even more.
sans says its important info, and to do some âreasearchâ yet, and according to all the offical art of shyren, the lower body you see isnât actually theirs. its another monsters.
this also goes to the fact that sans mentions is brother right after that fact. now some poeple thought this meanât gaster is also his brother, with papyrus.
but the gaster and papyrus similarities are to⌠coincidental.
the amniesa, or forgettfullness of ones past, is pointed out many times, that i doubt its something to look over about papyrus. and then we have gaster, who was supposed to be âforgottenâ by everybody. he was âerasedâ.
now whoâs the only person that canât remember anything about themselves? only bits⌠and peicesâŚ. shattered.. across⌠time.
i do belive, in some way, papyrus is gaster, but not ike the way you think.
just like shyren, one is the body and one is the mind.
mabye perhaps⌠when gaster got âshatteredâ he split into two seprate people. shattered means âphsyically broken into peicesâ, but they never specified HOW MANY PEICES. People are assuming he was shattered into many, extremly small bits. but mabye he was shattered into clumps, big peices. like how one of the goners in hotland says heâs holding a piece of GASTER. its a pretty big peice.
then again, he could just be going crazy right, so i must be wrong? mabye thats his own face. or mabye some random plot twist, where the body is the one being hold.
but this peice might beâŚÂ âmemoryâ.
papyrus is the body..
gaster might be the so called mind⌠the holder, or jar, or safe, to keep what isâŚ
THIS PEICE MIGHT BE THEÂ âMEMORYâ OF GASTER.
BEACUSE IF NO BODY WANTS TO REALIZE THIS, IâLL HAVE TO SAY IT.Â
AND
SHARDS. THEY ARE SHATTERED. ITS BITS AND PEICES.
guys papyrus isnât âjustâ gaster, he is a PEICE of him.

Unpopular opinion on Papyrus as a character? Or how he is portrayed by the fandom?
For an unpopular opinion on Papyrusâ characterization, I kind of want to see him having more emotions besides being cheerful? I mean we do see him get mad at Sans, and feel sad when talking to us in the King Papyrus neutral end. But I would love to see what heâs like when heâs really angry, and not just annoyed at his brotherâs jokes. Weâve seen what Undyne and Sans are like when theyâre furious, and itâs terrifying. I would love to see Papyrus being terrifying as well.
For his portrayal by the fandom, I want to see more protective Papyrus. The fandom really likes protective Sans, and some people also portray other characters as being protective over him. Iâd love to see him being overprotective over Sans for a change in fancomics and fanfics, getting furious if anyone so much dared to threaten Sans. And also him being protective over Undyne, and even Frisk.
I feel like people forget the only reason everyone shows up in true pacifist is because Papyrus called them. Like ya, Flowey told him to get âem but Papyrus is the one who convinced everyone. And not just the main group, the ENTIRE underground. Say what you will about him, but you canât deny that he knows how to talk to people and get them to do stuff
tell those people who think "pAPyrUs iS sO iNNocEnT ! hE dOeSN't kNOw bEttER!!"
also don't forget he convinced undyne, the most stubborn monster , to befriend you , a human .
he knows how to deal with any type of people, even if he's lonely. that's how he's so smart socially (he's also has more types of smartness)
(also , i have a deep belief and trust, that he AND flowey planned that together, and papyrus knew flowey will "backstab" him , but what flowey didn't know , he'll also have a happy ending )
thank you anon!!! I'm sick and tired of those people who infantilize papyrus!!
HOT TAKE but I think some parts of the fandom mistake the reason Flowey likes Papyrus SO MUCH and itâs usually due to a grave misinterpretation of both characters.
Fanon: Papyrus, Most Innocent and Naive Idiot, becomes the perfect plaything in Floweyâs eyes. Thus the Sadistic Evil Weed spent countless resets trying to break the former with advanced torture.
And itâs really out of character for me because Flowey simply isnât sadistic for the sake of being sadistic. He started killing because he was curious. He wanted to know what happens next. There is NO WAY that curious, allergic-to-routine Flowey would find the screaming of a naive idiot entertaining. There is NO WAY that he would take any prolonged interest in someone he only sees as a naive idiot.
Here are way better things to consider:Â
Flowey recognizes his similarities with Papyrus.Â
Flowey is intrigued by the mysteries behind Papyrus.Â
Flowey gets mad when people treat Papyrus as if he knows nothing because heâs so much smarter than they think.Â
Flowey is outraged that Undyne lies to Papyrus about his prospects of becoming Royal Guard.Â
Flowey is in awe of how good Papyrus is at fighting.
Flowey is in awe of how Papyrus shows strength through pacifism. Flowey respects Papyrus for staring a killer in the eyes, knowing what theyâre up to and feeling afraidâand believing in them regardless.
Papyrus keeps Flowey from going off the deep end by sustaining his faith in pacifism. Papyrus fills Flowey with shame by reminding him that heâs no longer that person.
You can come to Papyrus with a body count, with the dust of his family and friends on your face, and heâd still smile at you and tell you that youâre better than you think you are.
He never changes, even when everyone else does. When everyone else stare at you in shock and fear and disbelief and call you a demon, in stark contrast with how they treat you when you wear that plastic smile and try to fix all their problems, Papyrus always calls you a friend, always wants to be your friend, always treats you as a friend.
Itâs the first time you donât find something unchanging boring.
Flowey both hates himself more and loves himself more, because of Papyrus. Flowey thinks he doesnât deserve Papyrus, but Papyrus loves him anyway.
Howâs that for a change.
Okay. Uh... What do you want me to type in?
Well! Um. Iâm not entirely sure, and as I believe Iâve said before, I donât quite know how Tvtropes works, but, some things that I think could be added in are:
-Papyrus is actually capable of lying straight to your face (as in the x/o puzzle he claims needs to be solved to proceed, but he could actually just step over the spikes), and you might never notice.
-Some of the mysterious things about him, such as his room being the only room that has no music, and will reset the dev-room music if you enter while itâs playing; his being the only character to consistently speak without an asterisk; some of his bones being black. Oh, and his text constantly shaking just slightly, while the only other person to do that is the narrator.
-Papyrus is in fact aware of more than he lets on, and seems to be playing up his cluelessness a lot of the time, for example, when called alone near the lab he doesnât question what it is, instead saying that Sans would love it, but when Sans is present, he acts as if he has no idea what it is.
-He brings up things that happen further on in the game, or in a different run, several times! For instance: in the first bridge-seed room, he asks why there arenât âphones that can turn into jetpacksâ, which is what your phone becomes when Alphys modifies it; he mentions Mettatonâs âeyesâ in one of the elevator rooms, which Mettaton doesnât have yet, but does have in his EX form; he says that the king will trim a hedge in the shape of his smile, which happens in the Pacifist ending; he claims that âthis is the worst possible endingâ in the Pacifist ending itself, because he didnât get into the Royal Guard, which is something that happens in a neutral ending! (and also, itâs questionable how serious heâs being about that statement in itself, since his expression is quite happy there.)
-He seems completely fine with dying in the neutral run, and jokes about it - and the expression he makes while being hit is the same as when heâs on the date/hangout; even Sans drops his grin a little when heâs killed.
-Papyrus seems to be able to see where you are, at times; he says âthat bag of dog food looks familiarâ when called in the lab, and a phonecall in the tutu room that seems to have been removed, had him saying âWhereâd you go? I canât see you!â before trying to pass it off by saying that he couldnât see you because you were on the phone.
âŚâŚâŚwell, that became long. I hope this can be of use! ^^;
Since Iâve written so much, I think Iâll just post this one. The strange Papyrus things can never be brought up too often! :D

growing up is realizing that dipcifica was actually a pretty damn good ship and holy shit i totally misjudged this pairing.
i never really liked dipcifica mainly because of how it got represented by the fandom, but looking back on it, it would've made a lot of sense and it would've been beneficial for both of them to date each other. and even in a completely platonic sense, their dynamic worked well enough that they could've done a lot more together.
dipper is a very nerdy awkward guy, clearly. he likes solving mysteries and sometimes he gets a little in over his head because of it. and his silly little awkward teenage love life reflects all of these things. that little shrimp was disney's #1 simp, it's actually insane. whenever he'd start to fall for a girl it'd end up going pretty terribly because he'd have no idea how to just act like himself and he'd also become a little bit of a jerk. (i'm not trying to like dog on dipper btw. he's just a kid and these are all understandable flaws, especially at his age and at the time period gravity falls took place in). however, with pacifica, a lot of these flaws are manageable solely because of how they're introduced to each other. dipper hates pacifica at first and wants nothing to do with her, but eventually they're forced to work together and realize "huh. we actually make a really good team." for dipper, this gradual building of a relationship is really beneficial to him. he wouldn't just go head-first into simping for some random girl and he'd also learn to respect her as a person and realize when he's being a little bit of a dick. being with pacifica, platonically or romantically (though personally i think romantically would strengthen their pros more but thats just my personal taste), would've helped dipper become a better person.
this goes for pacifica as well. pacifica's homelife is extremely controlling and it's what groomed her into becoming the mean girl that she's first presented as. as the show continues though, it's clear that she doesn't really want to be mean to anybody. she only acts spoiled because she doesn't know what else she can act like. she wants to connect to people but she's been so forced into this fake rich life that she has no idea how to be genuine with anybody. that's why her having a connection to dipper is so important. dipper is a little blunt, and he especially won't hide that from pacifica because he initially hates her and her family's lifestyle, so this'll eventually help pacifica realize "oh shit. i'm kind of a dick. my family are kind of huge dicks." and we do end up seeing this from her in "Northwest Mansion Mystery". she learns how to be herself, learns who "herself" even means, and learns to stand up for who she is when she figures that out. also pacifica's pretty damn smart???? especially socially???? she could absolutely help dipper do a lot of things when it comes to mystery solving, and with her status it'll most likely be things that dipper could never pull off and never even thought about because that's just what he's used to. they'd both end up learning a lot from each other because they'd be dragged into environments that they're not familiar with, but the other is. and their different perspectives/lifestyles would help the other view their environment in a new light.
not only is their relationship genuinely really beneficial to the both of them, but i also just know that their dialogue and scenes with each other would be so damn silly i can't not say yes to it anymore. i also just personally like headcanoning them both as bisexual so that's a plus for me.
anyways, tldr: i was wrong about dipcifica and its actually really good, i just think people should really analyze their relationship more since the way the fandom presents it (or how ive personally seen the fandom present it) is a little icky and shallow at least in my opinion. yay for dipcifica being silly little goobers :3
As the connection between All For One and One For All become stronger (a consequence of the current plan to transfer the vestiges) Izukuâs and Tomuraâs memories are beginning to blend together. And each of the memories shown are equally as important as each other.
Izukuâs first memory being his fight with Shouto at the Sports Festival is especially important, because it foreshadows what Izuku will have to do in order to save TomuraâŚ
His fight with Shouto during the Sports Festival was the first time that Izuku was able to save someone.
Not saving someone physically, but being able to save their heart.
Izuku will have to save Tomura both physically and emotionally in order to truly save him. His first memory from his subconscious being of him saving Shouto explicitly shows that.
Izuku wonât be able to save Tomuraâs heart through violent means.
Tomuraâs first memories shown are also important, as it foreshadows what will eventually allow Tomura to let himself accept Izukuâs help. Each memory are of significant moments that he had with the league, all of them being moments that had a lasting impression on him.
His first time meeting Dabi and Himiko, who were the first people from the outside (people who werenât directly under All For Oneâs influence) that he accepted into the league.
His memory of Spinner challenging him, and what Tomuraâs goals are (Spinner seeking reassurance from Tomura)âŚ
Tomuraâs first thoughts throughout the series have consistently been of the league, and what their wants and needs are. Tomura views them as exceptions from his destruction. He wants them all to have a future where they can live how they see fit.
He wants them to be happy.
Tomura will have to accept that he cannot have both the league's happiness and the destruction of everything.
He will have to choose, but before Tomura can do that he will have to accept the true reason behind his anger, which isnât what AFO manipulated him into thinking.
Tomura's anger (which drives his want for destruction) stems from his inability to understand how people are able to ignore the suffering of others.
Tomura isn't able to ignore it. He never has.
His inability to ignore others suffering is what made him originally want to be a hero.
Tomura doesnât understand how people are able to turn a blind eye and go on with their lives despite seeing injustice happen right in front of them.
(How could his family ignore his suffering even though it was happening right in front of them? How could people have walked past him even when he was alone scared and covered in his familyâs bloodâŚ?)
His anger also stems from a place of hurt.
Tomura copes with no one reaching out and helping him by thinking that he was being punished for killing his family. He copes with people ignoring his suffering by convincing himself that he wanted to kill his family.
(Which stems from his resentment of his family ignoring his suffering, and the sense of relief Tomura felt after killing his father, knowing that he will no longer have to be subjected to his abuse.)
Tomura thinks that his destruction is something inherent within him. That heâs inherently bad.
That he will never feel good againâŚ
Tomura doesnât see a future for himself where he can be happy.
Izuku will have to prove to Tomura that he isnât any of these things, and that he does have a future where he can be happyâŚ
Which will be what allows him to truly save Tenko.
The thing with Flairmidableâs costume is â this isnât Felixâs style, at all. And thatâs what makes it so brilliant.
The entire point of this design is to be a credible copy of what Adrien would wear as the Dog holder, and as such, it is much closer to Chatâs suit than it is to Argosâ.
Allow me to demonstrate:
⨠Ears! â¨
High collar + Bell combo
Shoulder pads
A geometric motif on the chest, which also elongates the arms
⨠Tail! ⨠Itâs a shame you canât admire it on this render.
The biggest difference between the two costumes is the absence of over-the-knee boots on Chatâs side â but you know who does wear them?
Thatâs right! Adrienâs miserablesona! The one who conforms to expectations and fake perceptions of his identity.
In other words, Felix (and the character designers, of course, letâs hear a round of applause for them) came up with a costume that is a perfect combination of:
What Adrien would actually wear as the Dog holder;
What Felix thinks his cousin would wear as the Dog holder.
And he slays. And he knows it.

One thing I absolutely adore about MHA is how they show the realistic body development of Izukuâs mother.
Like- itâs just not practical for her to keep her younger body while sheâs single mothering Izuku, growing older, etc, etc. You can see her maturity through her body. Through her face. She looks so kind, yet so worn and wary. Whereas her younger self seemed more aloof, more spastic. More trusting.
So young.
Itâs clear how much sheâs grown as a person while raising Izuku, and itâs evident in her features. They did a wonderful job aging an already grown woman.

It's interesting how the previous transfers, especially the Blood to Blood, didn't have that 'Glow' in the hand that Izuku has
What I find more interesting is that it seems like as if izuku isnt even aware that he is using the afo quirk to transfere the ofa vestiges. I mean, isnt it strange how he doesnt seem to wonder why he is able to do that? For like 200 years ofa was either transfered via blood to blood or by eating a hair. And here izuku comes, using the same quirk the main villain has and transfers it with his hands while there are glowing holes inside his palms and not once he is like "WTH did I just do???"
The thing is, its possible that the reason we dont see izuku react surprised by that is, because he is using his own afo quirk on a instinctiv level. Like, how baby birds instinctiv know how to fly, or animals know since birth how to swim even if they never did it before.
You are aware that I dont believe that izuku was born quirkless and there are actual hints that pointed that out long ago. Since he was a toddler he is obsessed with quirks and writes them down in his notebooks. His analytical skills how a quirk works and what its weaknesses are, his mumbling, his monologes, thats all characteristics he has in common with one person and thats afo. While afo "collects" quirks by stealing them and storing them inside his brain, izuku "collects" quirks by writing them down in his notebooks. Why? Because he believes he is quirkless! His notebooks are his brain where he stores all the quirks so to speak. He is not trying to steal quirks in the way afo does (and most likely never would) because he doesnt know he can! BUT we see that he in some way still uses it since he was small. His analyses, mumbling, monologes he does that all instictiv because the quirk still affects izukus personality. He is not aware that he has it, but he still uses the quirks characteristics by pure instinct since its still part of his body.
So when izuku uses the afo quirk to transfer the ofa vestiges, I believe the reason why he doesnt wonder what he just did, is because he always COULD have and it feels completly normal and natural to him. Its not an alien feeling. Its a part of him, so why should it feel weird? He always could do it. He is just not aware of that.
Do you think the dad for one theory has a shaky evidence? Asides from the doctor and physical appearance thing, what are the other firm theories to convince that it's true.
Hisashi was mentionned once in 330 chapters in a manga where we've met Jirou's parents. Add to that how AFO's face is always shadowed.
Seriously, Izuku was hospitalized so many times and no mention of his father.
AFO ignoring Izuku in Kamino despite having Search, X-Ray quirk and the kid hiding six meters away from him behind a flimsy wall.
AFO telling All Might that he loathes him because "You took something from me!"
The only moment in the anime when AFO is raising his voice is when he calls Izuku by his full name and he keeps giving All Might shit for being a bad teacher.
Izuku getting the quirks of the past OFA users, something that never happened before.
There are about three times where AFO calls Izuku by name. Always his full name. 1. While fighting All Might. 2. In the Vestige world. 3. At the end of the war arc, where ShigarAFO was evacuated by the noumus. Every time it happens, there is virtually no one around. (He was planning to kill All Might, the Vestiges can't snitch, and neither can the noumus)
Speaking of the end of the war arc, what AFO used to push back Izuku was a love tap compared to what he could have done. And since his hand was shown bleeding immediately after, it really looks like he held back and hurt himself doing so.
Machia smelling "two masters" when Shigaraki and Izuku are fighting during the war arc.
Izuku loving quirks and his mumbling is acknowledged in-universe as creepy. AFO is shown to mumble about quirks during Kamino.
Izuku is shown to be more fragile than his classmates. Bakugou was thrown through a wall, Todoroki took a building on the neck, and so on. One could argue that Izuku's bone breaking tendencies are because OFA got ridiculously buffed during All Might's time but again, during Kamino, AFO is shown shaking his hand as if he is in pain after using the air canon that sent All Might through three buildings.
Seriously, if AFO really wanted to end the OFA line, he could have kidnapped Izuku any time between the Sport Festival and the moment when he went to the dorms. He knew who Izuku was and it would have been so easy.
There are probably more things but I am tired.

I find it funny that people deny the DFO theory because AFO doesn't look like Izuku. Have they read or watched "Fullmetal Alchemist"?
It's literally the same person at different ages. And his son looks exactly like him when Hohenheim was a teenager.
Well! Thatâs it!!đ
Dear Psycho,
Hello again.âşď¸đ¤ Hope you are having a wonderful afternoon.
While investigating Tartarus chapters, I found another funny coincidence in between Allmight's and AFO'S conversation.
You once researched on Midoriya family home and stated that at first they might have lived in a traditional Japanese house with tatami floors. In the anime, (sorry đ I forgot which episode) the scenes of AFO's thought while their conversation was not that clear. But in the manga it's different.(Chapter 116)
As you can see, I've marked it out. For a better view:
It might be the Todoroki house. Or, it might be the exterior of the house that Midoriya family was staying.(chapter 96)
So what so you think of this? Which traditional Japanese house was AFO thinking about?
Hey! You know, of course on the one hand a traditional style house (like Todorokiâs) can just be part of listing the values and those material things that everyone has in their life, and then some of that has to be inherited by someone just to continue the Life line further. This is what Afo is talking about in this talk.
However, here are some thoughts on this whole picture.
1. Home. This is where the family lives. Moreover, we have some symbolism here - a traditional style house: it is that traditional way of life - a family where the head is the father of the family, the mother looks after the household and raises the children, and, as a rule, the eldest son must inherit it and take care of the house and the parents (if there is no eldest son or sons at all, he is âadoptedâ through marrying a daughter, if the wife's family is higher in rank or it is not beneficial for her to give her daughter to another family).
2. A building that symbolizes work. I would like to point out that in the past and even now in Japan there is still the concept of âfamily workâ, where the whole family worked for the same company (for another person or family) or then the son replaced the retiring father at work. And, of course, the âfamily businessâ, which can also be inherited.
3. I really like that we have two types of food here: as like European-American sandwiches, snacks and other goodies
and traditional Japanese breakfast: miso soup, grilled fish, boiled rice, scrambled eggs and pickled vegetables.
It's funny that it's all these simple things a family does when they get together that Afo imagines. Especially breakfast - it's a boost for the day, including the mood.
I think he really appreciates small family things like eating and living together. Yeah , I think he's quite a family man, very appreciative of the concept of family, but All Might deprived him of all that. And we just aren't shown it because Evil has to be Evil so no one feels sympathy for him. But that's for now, because the details still show what's important to him, which means Evil isn't so Evil.
Psycho,
This is from "Interview of Horikoshi from Shonen Jumpsâ Guide to Making Manga!" (Here's the link : https://twitter.com/Justixplode/status/1582434767257014272?s=20&t=uL4x27kDXh5Hdb2orVVVwA)
And then We have these panels :
And of course my favorite :
I mean, seriously (in the manga) who else clench their hand like that when they got excited?
And there many, many Izuku and AFO paralles that we can find throughout the manga, so i think DFO fandom can have pretty high hope for DFO theory confirmation
That's a balm for my soul. You and I both know that Izuku inherited a lot from his dad - his habits, his mannerisms, his passion for quirks... Izuku inherited a lot from his dadâ¤ď¸
It will be a World of Nonsense.
This is the Lord of the World of Nonsense.
And this is the Prince of the World of Nonsense.
Everything is decided, you knowđ
While investigating Tartarus chapters for searching evidence for DFO-theory, I found out another interesting piece of coincidence. AFO's thoughts.... Or rather than that the panel that shows AFO's thoughts during his conversation with All might in the prison.(Chapter 116)
I spy a little traditional Japanese house in that panel. For a better view:
The significance of the house is that, one of my favorites, @psychomurderz stated that Midoriya family might have lived in a traditional Japanese house similar to the Todorokis.
(chapter 96) this panel shows the shoji doors and Inko Midoriya sitting on tatami floors, which are not part of the apartment in Mustafu.
So what do you think? Which house would AFO subconsciously think about while talking about how people leave legacies when they sense their end is near?
Just putting my two cents on this theory. I saw someone recently post an analysis and a bunch of proof, and I thought some things were missing/not clear. Just wanted to voice my thoughts before this theory is confirmed or denied.
=======================================
Just a warning: I found most of these points while doing research, so some of them are a bit repetitive and not my original ideas; I just wanted to put all the proof in one place. Also spoilers ahead obviously.Â
=======================================
Part 1: Who is Hisashi Midoriya
¡      Inkoâs husband
¡      Father of Izuku
¡      Has a fire breathing quirk
¡      Took a work post abroad
Thatâs literally all we know about him. He is only mentioned in the series once (Chapter/Episode 1), when Inko visits a pediatrician who asks about him, which is how we found out about his fire quirk.
The name âHisashiâ comes from the Japanese phrase âHisashiburiâ, meaning a long time (since the last time) or first in a long time. This could insinuate itâs been a long time since he has seen his family; or, since we know All for One is 150+ years old, the phrase could insinuate heâs been alive for a long time.
I also want to point out the Kanji in this name. Horikoshi likes to sneak in easter eggs or certain hints in the names of the BNHA characters. This is what I found:
The kanji used to write the name âHisashiâ:
ÂˇÂ Â Â Â Â Â äš : âlong timeâ
¡      永: âeternalâ
¡      ĺ°: âstillâ
¡      ĺ˝: âcompleteâ
¡      éˇ: âlongâ
¡      寿: âlifeâ
¡      ćś: âlong dayâ
It clearly emphasizes the âLong timeâ part.
I want to point out another aspect in his name, the âMidoriyaâ part.
There could be 2 possibilities:
1.    Either All for One made up this last name
2.    âMidoriyaâ is actually Inkoâs maiden name she gave him and Izuku
Now I see a lot of people saying itâs common for Japanese men to take their wives last namesâ, but I donât see anyone posting proof (from the series) about this. We donât know how common this is in the BNHA universe; until I came across this:
So we now know this is a common practice in the BNHA universe. It doesnât seem far fetched that All for One wanted to forget about his past/past family and have a new family. I think him taking the âMidoriyaâ from Inko was like a new beginning for him. He didnât want to associate his new family with his criminal activities or his past.
Part 2: The Quirk
Hisashi Midoriya has been confirmed to have a fire breathing quirk.
Now why fire breathing?
I guess its simple and wouldnât cause too much trouble. He didnât want anything flashy in case it attracted unwanted attention.
All for One has AT LEAST one fire-based quirk. We see proof of this throughout the series.
In both photos, AFO is using a fire quirk. So we can now confirm he has at least 2.
Bonus point: Notice how AFO never specifically uses fire breathing. This is because he would damage his oxygen mask and respiratory support. He canât use this quirk. How ironic and well timed is that?
Part 3: His âworkâ abroad
I heard many people say they think Hisashi works in America, which I think is highly likely.
We know AFO has been overseas. Especially America. In the manga panel above, is an image of the Chrysler Building in New York. Different angles but its clearly the same building. AFO could be sending letters, payments, packages to the Midoriyas from New York; to make it look like he was working a normal job in the US.
Part 4: Izuku and genetics
1.    I want to point out Izuku looks more like his mother then father. We know this because he gets most of his colors and features from his mother. This isnât really surprising, as we see other main characters, like Shoto Todoroki and Katsuki Bakugo who get most physical features from their mother. Denki and Jiro are other examples.
2.    Izuku does indeed have some resemblance to All for One. Not just in one panel, but SEVERAL. Here are just a few examples:
I donât see any other person in the same poses as Izuku and AFO. Coincidence? Also, a young AFO bears very strong resemblance to Izuku. I honestly think he cut his hair shorter as he got older.
3.    The x-ray: Letâs assume the x-ray the doctor shows in episode 1 is real. As generations pass and evolve, the extra joint in the pinky toe disappears. It appears to be unnecessary. Letâs assume both Hisashi and Inko are forth generation users. They both would not have this feature. How is it possible that Izuku inherits it? AFO is a first-generation quirk user, it is 100% certain he has this extra joint, therefore passing it onto Izuku.
4.    All for One is very likely to have a quirkless child. More then 80% chance. Quirks back in his time were extremely rare. I know there are many other quirkless people (Melissa, Aoyama, Jiroâs father), but its very rare and unlikely. The quirk gene should be dominant.  You see most of the older generation having more quirkless individuals then the new generation. There is a 20% quirkless population worldwide. Donât forget that Dr. Ujiko runs several orphanages and hospitals worldwide. There is a chance he helped AFO steal quirks from children or even babies, later making them think they are quirkless, increasing the quirkless population.
5.    Izuku is very plain looking. In chapter 363, we see AFOâs true face. According to BNHA logic and even a lot of fans, he looks very plain, any ordinary guy you might see at a Home Depo on a Sunday. In a world where quirks make a person unique, this is a bit surprising. You see every character has a unique feature connected to their quirk. Both Izuku and AFO are just plain looking characters.
6.    Ever notice how much Izuku gets injured when using OFA? More then he should? Maybe its because his body isnât evolved enough to be able to handle such evolved quirks (Quirk singularity). If this is true, Izuku being a first-generation user makes sense. AFOâs body cannot handle how strong quirks have gotten, which is why he used Tomura Shigaraki as a vessel. Izuku must have the same body type.
7.    Usually, people who use more then one quirk become brain-dead monsters. Thatâs why Nomu exist. Izuku has like, what, 7 quirks now from the previous users? How does his body handle all these quirks?
8.    Parallel to Yoichi Shigaraki: Yoichi (AFOâs brother) and Izuku are very similar. They both have a strong sense of justice, strong willpower, both love/want to be heroes, and both are OFA users who were previously quirkless. The series started with AFO and his family and will end with AFO and his family. Family is clearly an important theme, otherwise why give AFO a brother he loves? As Izuku looks like AFO, Tomura looks like Yoichi. Izuku and Shigaraki mirror AFO and his brother.
Part 5: The doctor
These two are the same people. You cannot tell me otherwise.
He goes by many names, so lets just call him Dr. Ujiko. Dr. Ujiko was Izukuâs pediatrician, and the one who diagnosed Izuku quirkless. He is also AFOâs doctor and partner in crime. Now, why take Izuku to this specific doctor? That is a very odd coincidence. According to his wiki page, Dr. Ujiko is famous in the area for being the head of several hospitals and owning several orphanages. Meaning he is an important man. Clearly, many people would want to take their children to him.
We see in chapter 301 Endeavor and his wife visit Dr. Ujiko. We know this because they are in the same building Inko and Izuku were in. Endeavor is an important hero and has a lot of influence, of course because he was desperate for a perfect child, he would only go to the best doctor.
Inko does not seem to have any influence or important backgrounds, how did she get an appointment with such an important man, who is well renowned and has celebrity heroes as his patients?
Hisashi Midoriya of course. He would have enough influence and know the doctor well enough to convince him to diagnose his son. AFO must have told the doctor about his wife and his child, and out of curiosity decided to take Izuku in as a patient. Maybe even agreed and conspired with AFO about the diagnosis.
Bonus point: I notice how Dr. Ujiko asks âWhat is your husbands quirk?â in the anime and some translations of the manga. A lot of fans say if he knew AFO was Hisashi, why would he ask such a question? AFO has many quirks, he likely does not know what quirk AFO told Inko he had.
Part 6: Parallels with Tomura Shigaraki
It has been confirmed that AFO and Tomura are a dark parallel to All Might and Izuku. Izuku was taken under All Mightâs wing, a hero. Tomura was taken by AFO, a villain.
Wouldnât it make sense, if Tomuraâs ancestor was a hero, and Izukuâs ancestor a villain?
I heard a theorist say: âTomura descends from a hero, while Izuku descends from a villain.â
Its literally a perfect parallel.Â
Part 7: AFO vs Izuku
There is almost NO direct interaction between Izuku and All for One.
Back to Kamino, when AFO revealed himself a few minutes before All Might appeared.
All for One KNEW Izuku and his friends were behind that wall. Because his stole Ragdolls quirk: Search.
âSearch allows the user to monitor and observe up to a hundred people at a time. This includes knowing their locations and weak points. The individuals being observed are visualized through the Quirk as star-like vestiges and can allow the user to know their location up to even miles away. Search also permanently stores the information gained after its usageâ
Why not attack Izuku or kill him and his friends when he had the chance? He has had so many opportunities. He killed all other previous users of OFA, why is Izuku an exception? Especially when, unlike All Might, itâs so easy for someone like AFO to kill Izuku because he has no control over OFA and not on pro-level yet.
When AFO is later arrested, All Might asks if AFO wants to kill Izuku. AFO laughs and doesnât confirm it. All Might made up that theory himself. AFOâs demeanor changes; itâs like AFO avoids talking about Izuku. For someone who is is very chatty, All for One is awfully quiet here.
Bonus point: One thing I really canât understand is why AFO talks shit about Izuku in the manga later (Chapter 287 specifically). Calling him âWorthlessâ, âWeakâ, âUnworthy of the powerâ. He literally makes fun of him in the OFA world. Not something a father would do. However, what if he was just trying to break his spirit? Maybe destroy his self-worth in order to take him in and manipulate him into hating heroes? (lmao poor Izuku his dad is literally talking shit about him. Dad of the year yâall)
Part 8: The Horikoshi interview
In 2018, when asked when Izuku Midoriyaâs father will make an appearance, Horikoshi said this: âDekuâs father will be revealed in the future,â
Key word: Revealed
He said REVEALED not introduced.
Meaning we have seen his father; we just donât know it yet because it hasnât been revealed.
I believe Horikoshi is a smart man; he clearly thinks before he speaks, and he has been definitely PR trained. Was this a hint? Foreshadowing?
Part 9: Fucking Star Wars
The most common annoying-ass argument that people bring up when it comes to this theory.
In all honesty, its just very clichĂŠ and repetitive. I think thatâs why BNHA fans are against this theory. Horikoshi would just be plagiarizing Stars Wars at this point.
I also heard arguments like âWe already have a Star Wars reveal, the whole Dabi saga and Tomura is Nanaâs grandsonâ.
I think Horikoshi might pull the âI am your fatherâ card as a final homage to the famous franchise. He had taken so many names and ideas from the franchise what will stop his from doing this?
Here are just A FEW examples of him using Star Wars for BNHA (I found these on the internet since I know nothing about Star Wars) :
¡      Tatooine Station. A story has to start somewhere.
¡      Hosu, Tokyo. A harsh place in both stories.
¡      Wookiees. The furriest shopping mall ever!
¡      Kamino. Makinâ copies!
¡      All for One. Darth Vader doppelganger.
¡      Mustafu: Named for Mustafar, the site of Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobiâs last battle.Â
Its so blatantly obvious the man doesnât even try to hide it. Literally took the same names. Did the Star Wars creator not sue him for copyright?
Also Parallels to the characters:
¡      Deku is Luke
¡      All might is Obi-Wan
¡      Gran Torino is Yoda
Star Wars story in a nutshell: A teacher figure (All Might), takes in a nobody (Deku) to fight evil, and turns out the evil is his father (AFO).
Horikoshi has taken so much from Star Wars, why would it be surprising that he pulls this? We have had so many plot twists, surprises, and reveals throughout the story. Why wouldnât he add more shock factor?
Part 10: Extra easter eggs and theories
1.    All for Oneâs prison number is 1541. The 41 stands for âFor Oneâ. What about the 15?
 2.    Tomura and Izuku have similar red shoes. As a child and young adult, AFO gave Tomura the red shoes when he was found under the bridge; could he have bought Izuku the same/similar shoes from the same brand? Maybe an American brand?
3.    In episode 76, when Deku fights against Overhaul, AFOâs theme plays.
4.    There is never any mention of Hisashi Midoriya after chapter/episode 1. Why? Whenever Izuku is in danger/on the verge of a tragedy, he calls for âMomâ and âAll Mightâ. Are Hisashi and Izuku not close? Wouldnât a father overseas call his son or have a relationship with him? (As a university student whoâs father has been working overseas for 5+ years I would know) Izuku doesnât even acknowledge his father, not even in his thoughts. Hisashi has never once visited his family. Is this because of AFOâs injury he canât see his son or wife?
5.    It makes no sense to introduce a new character so late. As of writing this, we are in the final war arc (chapter 364).Â
6.    âWouldnât Izuku recognize his fathers voice?â I think this is because Izuku was so young when his father left that he does not remember. Also, AFO uses a breathing mask. His voice is very strained especially after All Might left him disabled; he might have damaged his speech or vocal cords.
7.    Izuku is the only one who was able to talk to the vestiges of the previous OFA users.
8.    I heard a lot of people say âI doubt AFO would want to conceive a childâ. How do you yâall know that? We donât know what his moves are or what heâs thinking. His relationship with Inko and Izuku is either a loving one or an experiment. Whoâs to say he doesnât have other children out there? As long as heâs a man itâs possible. We donât even know who he is, just that he wants to commit evil. Thatâs literally his personality.
9.    If Hisashi is clearly an absent figure, why even mention him? Why not say he died or divorced Inko if heâs not that relevant? Unless heâs important in the story later?
10.    The fascination with quirks. I have yet to see anyone other than Izuku mumble and be so fascinated with quirks. Oh wait-
11.    A conveniently ironic tale indeed.
lavender daydreaming
Okay, hear me out, I totally understand that sick and twisted DFO would totally be canon if the theory pans out. And don't get me wrong I love that, truly, it's one of his ehm many quirks.
But just, ugh, the idea that AFO genuinely loves Izuku in a not just possessive "you are part of me" but also in a "I will burn everything down just to see you smile" way.
Like big bad, supervillain who has zero moral code, kept every single baby book, toy, and article of clothing Izuku had throughout his childhood. This man has a container of baby teeth in a pretty little jar and all of his underlings think it's from one of his enemies, no it's from AFO's hero son. This man is a hoarder!!! I mean people have been building this head canon for years, but instead of hoarding jewels and pretty things, he hoards photocopies of every analysis Izuku has even written, Izuku's favorite stuffed animals and his baby blanket that are so tattered and loved that people think they're from HIS childhood.
LIKE PLEASE.
The idea that baby Izu nearly saved the world because his father almost gave up on villainy. It makes me sob!!!!
Baby Izu bringing home injured animals off the side of the street and DFO miraculously healing them to make Izuku happy. Then proceeding to do that years later when he sees an injured bird or something, because he misses his son.
Like you know how parents always talk about how they'll never see their kids as anything but their babies. That they just never truly grow up. THAT is AFO coded to me. Like he comes back from being abroad and is absolutely aghast when he finds out Izuku doesn't sleep with his stuffed rabbit anymore. He keeps the damn ugly rabbit around just in case Izuku gets a nightmare but will cut your throat out if you look at him the wrong way.
The idea that he left to protect his son is great, amazing, spectacular.
But him leaving because Izuku was making him weak kills me too. That after 200 years of stubbornly fighting for world domination and your toddler babbles about how much of a great Papa you are, and you question whether any of it is worth it.
The idea that Izuku could grow to become AFO's Jiminy Cricket, his little heart that forces him onto a straight path. Or even that AFO would throw everything away for his heroic son without hesitation.
Or that this man is so grief stricken but not just losing his brother for good but knowing that he'll never be able to go back to his family. That Izuku is his nemesis' successor, and they are sworn enemies as a result.
OR GOD FORBID, HE DIES OFFICIALLY BECAUSE HE COULD NEVER KILL HIS BABY!!
My biggest NOTP but one of my biggest BrOTP is ShigaDeku.
Please, for the love of god, don't ship them romantically... Shigaraki is an adult, and Izuku is a child... But please, ship them as bros... They'd be good bros tbh. I kinda hc that they're half brothers.
Hi there everyone! Iâm getting top surgery in July and I set up a go fund me to try and bridge the last bit of funds Iâll need for the procedure!!
I donât have a lot of familial support unfortunately, and Iâve had to get rid of my car in order to save up for it and Iâm donating plasma twice a week â which Iâm hoping to stop before the surgery comes up in order to have a healthy recovery. So, pretty much ANY help at all is super appreciated, even just sharing! Thank you so much for your consideration and support!!
