Welcome to the first part of my elemental series! Today we will explore some aspects of working with water like offerings, devotional activities, common lessons, aspects, and more! With all that said lets get started!
To preface: I am a devotee to water itself, I am a west witch practioner which means I work within the domain of water, the past, divination, and psyche! I also am a general elemental practioner and have experience working with all of the elements and their aspects!
The verified gnosis depends on what pantheon or historical significance we are looking at, however some things are constant! Water is fluid, represents motion and an unbridled force, but people can work with aspects of water! Water doesnt have a gender (neither do any of the elements) so asking during a working relationship is a great way to bond! Some people use she, he, they, and anything inbetween mainly because there are a lot of dynamics world wide!
In general, Water is primordial, being one of the first elements on the planet to house life as the primordial soup. In general her energy carries this! It has many aspects, from ocean, abyss, stream, river, and more, and spirits/traditions change depending on where you are looking! It mainly has to do with formations on the earth and how water presents to you!
Some people who work with more general bodies like streams, rivers, and lakes have a more relaxed time, learning more about how to go with the flow, tackle divination, and working with aspects of transcendence as many bodies of waters were considered to be portals. When it comes to larger and deeper bodies of water like ocean, abyss, and the primordial soup you will learn lessons more about the human condition, shadow work, and taking on the past.
Some things to note, waters personality is not set in stone, however elements are not omnipotent or omnipresent because they physically exist, its best to call on the energies of the elements before attempting to interact, and this also means they wont be around you all the time. Also, do not be suprised if an element isnt kind to you from the start. In a lot of cultures, elements dislike what we are doing to our planet and in general water may mention the plastic problem and pollution and encourage you to clean up our lands! Its important to remember that to the elements we are simply animals like any other bear, bird, or deer! Remember that you can learn a lot from a distance, so dont be offended if water would rather have you observe nature rather than directly give you answers via divination. UPG: In my experience water tends to be a portal, it is stoic, never saying 'i love you' or 'im proud' simply because it doesnt follow the human system of love. It is billions of years old and interestingly enough, water does rule over the psyche and past and is extremely emotionally intelligent, but has a preference in showing someone how to love themselves rather than giving out the term itself. It humanizes the element too much. Another aspect is even as a devotee it isnt heavy ritual work, a lot of it is introspection and action based!
A good thing to note is water does have a primordial โwombโ aspect because of the Primordial soup! Most of the elements will have a birth aspect. On the contrary Water also has a death aspect within Abyss (the darker element) as it relates to death and the shadows. Working with these entities follows a similar feel to working with water itself, however the primordial soup teaches more about the human condition and what it means to evolve, while abyss teaches how to accept our darker flaws and translate them into good.
Most people place altars to water in wet rooms, bathrooms, and showers! Or at least near entrances and thresholds! Water tends to enjoy hand picked items, items from your adventures, and things you find interesting in your research. It tends to really enjoy having a set space.
There is heavy emphasis on action, and usually there are types of offerings! Net Positive, Net Negative, and Neutral! Positive offerings are anything that benefits the water ways which include beach clean ups, enjoying the water with reef safe sun screen, and creating a floating fish feeder! Neutral offerings refer to offerings that neither help nor harm water ways mainly is taking things home and charging them in moon light or on an altar then bringing them back, introducing native florals or herbs to a water way, or creating a biodegradable floating offering. Practicing at home in your shower or with drinking water usually is neutral or even positive. Net Negative are any offerings that negatively impact waterways like introducing salt from an offering, floating non-native florals and herbs, adding crystals to the environment.
Its important that you are aware of the offerings you introduce into your area, research is the key, and if you cant and still want to honor water look into how to conserve water in your own home like creating moon water from potable water, creating potions and other things in a respectful manner, and practicing safely
Some common practices include visiting local water spots, clean ups, potion crafting, collecting waters like moon or rain, meditating during water moments like during rain, cleaning up your bathroom or mudroom, enjoying shower and bathing magic, using steam, and so much more!

I identify as a Sky Witch. Hereโs why.
Ahahaha Iโve had this spread for two weeks but I forgot about it so I just didnโt post anything last week. Iโm lame.
Enjoy my recipe for Sky Magic Soup ยฉ
I plan to focus on astrology for a while. I have done astrology spreads already but Iโm ready to dive deeper!
So I've shared stories about Lemons and I've shared stories about Eggs. Both items are staples in cooking and baking, but I thought I'd share a recipe that uses mainly these two ingredients. Lemon Curd.
Now, I'll be the first one to admit that the name "Lemon Curd" for a dish is not the most appetizing sound. It almost sounds like milk that has curdled so bad, it's as sour as lemon juice. Instead, I call it a jar of sunshine, as magically, it harnesses the best parts of the ingredients' solar energy. Lemons have been connected with the sun and this recipe uses mainly Egg Yolks. This allows you to help bring out some of the best aspects of solar energy like Passion, Courage, Energy, Inspiration, Rejuvenation and Joy. The later two I find I get the most out of with this recipe.
Need: 1 Cup White Sugar 2 Tbsp Lemon Zest 6 Egg Yolks 1/2 Cup Lemon Juice 1/2 Cup Butter 1/2 tsp lemon extract (Optional)
Zest your Lemons and add to sugar. Incorporate these together well to activate the oils of the lemon zest. You can shake in a bag, use a food processor, or just mix really, really well.
Juice your Lemons, taking care to keep seeds out. Add your juice and egg yolks into a pot. Whisk well. Slowly add your sugar and lemon zest mixture, stirring well with whisk. If you want lemon extract, add it now.
Place your pot on low heat and whisk continuously. Keep stirring until the mixture thickens and starts to bubble. This is going to take a while, but don't stop stirring or turn up the heat. Itโs ready when you stick a wooden spoon in and it coats your spoon in yellow.
Remove from heat, and add your butter. Make sure it is cold and cubed. Continue stirring until butter has melted.
Pour your finished mixture through a fine mesh strainer. This will ensure your curd is smooth and silky. Put mixture in a glass jar with lid. Let cool at room temperature for an hour before lidding and putting in fridge. It will set completely in fridge. Will last several weeks in fridge and months in freezer.
Tip: -Do not stop whisking when eggs are on heat. Failing to do so may cause the eggs to overcook and become lumpy. -If your stove doesnโt go low enough, consider cooking in a double boiler. -Two Lemons should yield your needed Zest and Juice. -Use fresh lemon juice. The pre squeezed stuff you can get in a bottle will not cut it. -You can easily separate egg yolks from the egg white by tipping the egg back and forth between the shells. Or Gently use your hands to separate the yolk from the whites. -Do not fret if some egg white mixes in with your yolk. -Let your lemon curd cool completely before using it in baking. -When you make your lemon curd and you want it to have max solar energy, make sure you are cooking during the day. Not at night or in the evening. -Use less or even no lemon extract if you do not want your lemon curd to taste too strong.
Essential oil free!
1.ย A sudden burst of sunlight, as through broken clouds
I just made my batch for this winter and I thought I'd share this recipe with you!
Good for: Physical Healing, Protection, Divination, Happiness, Love, Creativity, Prophesy, Truth, Solar Deities
Medically: cools and softens skin, helps heal small cuts, burns, irritations, SAD, breaking fever, purifying, anti bacterial, helps relieve anxiety and depression
Grapeseed or sunflower oil
Dried hibiscus
Dried juniper berries
Dried Bay leaves
Dried citrus peel
Dried dandelion root
Rosemary
A cinnamon stick
If you want to add essential oils you can, I didnt for this batch but In the past I've used frankincense, lemon, orange, cinnamon, vetiver, black pepper, sandalwood, and juniper
Best to grind the ingredients before adding them to the oil (except the cinnamon stick)
Makes a great offering for any solar deity like apollo, sol, helios, sekhmet
Let infuse in the sunshine for a few weeks-months depending on how much oil you're making, or if you want it faster & stronger you can heat it up until it turns red from the hibiscus
It smells so good so it's an excellent natural perfume, and it's great for your skin!
I tend to go heavy on the hibiscus and juniper in this but the amounts used are up to you.

pluto, otherwise known as hades in greek mythology, is the ruler and guardian of the underworld.
ethically collect graveyard dirt and charge it with plutonian energy - may be used in spells that correspond with plutoโs energy, spirit work, or any act that includes honoring the dead
create a shrine or altar dedicated to a loved one who has passed on - add a symbolic representation of pluto for the protection of your loved one in the afterlife
create an amulet to represent an ancestor or loved one that has passed on and charge with plutonian energy - this can be worn for remembrance or to aid in contacting the spirit of this person
some ideas for this may include: the name of your loved one; a sigil that represents their name and your intention; some of their ashes (please donโt take ashes from a family urn without permission); graveyard dirt from the grave of your loved one (again, not without permission); herbs or crystals that correspond to spirit work and death magic (perhaps even your loved oneโs favorite crystal or flower)
provide offerings to pluto for the continued protection of your loved ones in the afterlife
plant herbs and flowers that correspond with pluto
volunteer to work with hospice patients or to help clean up your local graveyard
provide food and beverages on your altar or sacred space
light a candle or incense of corresponding scent
leave corresponding crystals or herbs in an offering dish
leave offerings for your loved ones at their grave or on your altar
design a crystal grid using plutonian crystals to amplify corresponding spells or rituals
wear a crystal pendant that corresponds with pluto for the metaphorical death and rebirth of oneโs self
use the death card in your tarot deck during spells and rituals that involve death magic
i typically do not work with any deities, but sometimes i feel it's appropriate to incorporate persephone as well.
โข iโd like to thank @death-witch-envy, who was a huge inspiration for this post and an inspiration for my interest in death witchcraft. โ

are you kidding me
~As with all posts, this is my take, my opinion, my knowledge. If you make your magick in a different way, great! Don't hate on other ways of the Craft. As I say again and again, there's no wrong way to witchcraft.~

Sun and Moon water can both be used in many different spells and all sorts of magick. These blessed waters are related to the sun and moon, respectively. They are some of the easiest to make, and most popular types of blessed water!
โ๏ธ๐โ๏ธ๐โ๏ธ๐โ๏ธ๐โ๏ธ๐โ๏ธ๐โ๏ธ๐โ๏ธ๐
Usually made with water from the tap, well water, water from lakes and puddles, etc., but any kind of water can be used
spells for happiness/banishing negativity/banishing depression
Spells for wakefulness
Spells for health and healing
Watering sick plants or plants that donโt get enough sunlight
Spells, potions, and rites for energy
Spells for attracting prosperity
I like to wash my hair with sun water infused with lavender because it makes me feel happy :)
I use a clear glass jar, usually a mason jar
I set the water in my window to catch the sunlight from sunrise to sunset, removing the jar when it gets dark
Sometimes I put a citrine stone on top of/around the jar for an extra sunshine-kick
Then I use it in whatever way I please!

Spells and rites for prophecy and divination

Spells for attracting good fortune
I like to dab moon water on my wrists and behind my ears when Iโm nervous to calm me and make me feel less insecure
I use a clear glass jar, usually a mason jar
I set the jar in my window or on my back porch from nightfall until dawn to catch the rays of the moon, removing the jar before sunrise
Sometimes I put moonstone and silver on/around the jar to give it an extra moonlight magick kick
I personally like to be aware of what phase the moon is in when I make moon water, and make many batches which I use for different things (e.g., waning moon water for banishing, full moon water for divination and prophecy, etc.)
