Black salt ๐ง
Black salt, or Witchโs salt, is used primarily for banishment, protection, and repelling things or beings. However, it has also been used in curses/hexes and in rituals. It can protect physical spaces, against nightmares, against negative energy, harmful rumors, and unwelcomed people. It can also help with removing curses and dealing with negative thoughts and feelings, as well as getting rid of unwanted entities.
White salt (rock or regular)
Black pepper (whole kernels work best)
Charcoal (use activated charcoal to make it edible)
Ashes (any kind, but use coconut ash to make it edible, and use protective plant ash to make the protection effects stronger)
Optional: cast iron scrapings, coffee grounds, dirt
Grind together the ingredients with the help of a mortar and pestle. Use your intention and will while mixing to give it its power, remembering what you are using it for, the same as you would with a spell. Black salt will either be a spell as is or be a component of one in the future, so magically charging it while making it is just as important as it would be in any other kind of magical working. Mix all the components together until you have a mixture that has turned fully black and looks pretty uniform.
You can also add small bits of other herbs and spices to the mixture to make it more aggressive, protective, etc of a mixture, if you want a more targeted approach. Adding things like chili and paprika make it more aggressive, while things like rosemary or sage make it more protective, for example.
It has unrelated origins in Hoodoo, Western Alchemy, Appalachian folk magic, and European folk magic. Beyond that, a lot of the origins and history of black salt - as well as when it first began to be used - is hard to find.
The salt is for protection and purification or absorbing negative energy, the black pepper is for protection (especially from bad people) and warding or banishing negativity, the ashes are for concealing and protection (especially if ashes from protective plants are used), and the charcoal is used to get rid of bad magic. The optional iron scrapings are good for protection from various entities, while the optional coffee grounds are good for keeping out entities and for protection. The optional dirt is good for grounding, as well as whatever additions the type of dirt it is adds to the mixture (for example, graveyard dirt is good for warding and banishing, while dirt from the witchโs home is good for protecting the household).

Hello!
I am GIRATINA, welcome to my blog! My pronouns are he and it. Here, I collect art of my fellow deities (as well as aesthetic pictures that remind me of them), religious help posts, and other fun things. My ask box is always open if you have questions about my canon or about the deities, have a request of any kind, or if you just want to chat! Iโm here for you!
Please note that opinions and advice I give about the deities will be based on my experiences in my canon. Due to the infinite nature of the multiverse, the version you may encounter in your practice will more than likely be different in some or many aspects!
Also, I am quite new to the actual practice of PokรฉPaganism / Pop Culture Paganism in general, so please, be patient with me as I figure out what works for me! I am very busy in real life, unfortunately.

Do you have any simple simple spells or charms tied to the sun that a baby witch still in the broom closet could do?

โ๏ธbless/enchant things in the sunshine
โ๏ธ wear something gold or some sort of sun related stone jewelry
โ๏ธgrow sunflowers, cactus, basil, and rosemary. Theyre nonsuspicious plants.
โ๏ธwear a scent that reminds you of the sun like citrus
โ๏ธdo spells with citrus ingedients
โ๏ธsunbathing!
โ๏ธsun mediations
โ๏ธsun braids (i have a post)
I know these arent specific simple spells or anything, but i dont know what the spell is for so i wouldnt know what specifically is needed, so theres some every day stuff. I hope this helped, if you have any more questions im here ๐ป
โ๏ธSUN WATER TIPSโ๏ธ
โ๏ธYou donโt have to add herbs, flowers, or crystals to charge your water! Just the sun is enough!
โ๏ธThat being said, feel free to add charges! Iโm encouraging you to experiment! Find a โvibeโ to charge your sun water with (ie, pink roses to quell anxiety, carnelian to enhance creativity, etc.)!
โ๏ธYou can use your sun water to dispel bad vibes! Intent has a lot to do with the vibe of your sun water. If your intent is good, then you can use your vibe-charged sun water to dispel bad vibes!
โ๏ธDonโt forget to ask your deity to bless the water! This isnโt a necessary step, but it may not only improve your relationship with your deity, but your deity might also make your sun water more effective!
~As with all posts, this is my take, my opinion, my knowledge. If you make your magick in a different way, great! Don't hate on other ways of the Craft. As I say again and again, there's no wrong way to witchcraft.~

Sun and Moon water can both be used in many different spells and all sorts of magick. These blessed waters are related to the sun and moon, respectively. They are some of the easiest to make, and most popular types of blessed water!
โ๏ธ๐โ๏ธ๐โ๏ธ๐โ๏ธ๐โ๏ธ๐โ๏ธ๐โ๏ธ๐โ๏ธ๐
Usually made with water from the tap, well water, water from lakes and puddles, etc., but any kind of water can be used
spells for happiness/banishing negativity/banishing depression
Spells for wakefulness
Spells for health and healing
Watering sick plants or plants that donโt get enough sunlight
Spells, potions, and rites for energy
Spells for attracting prosperity
I like to wash my hair with sun water infused with lavender because it makes me feel happy :)
I use a clear glass jar, usually a mason jar
I set the water in my window to catch the sunlight from sunrise to sunset, removing the jar when it gets dark
Sometimes I put a citrine stone on top of/around the jar for an extra sunshine-kick
Then I use it in whatever way I please!

I like to dab moon water on my wrists and behind my ears when Iโm nervous to calm me and make me feel less insecure
I use a clear glass jar, usually a mason jar
I set the jar in my window or on my back porch from nightfall until dawn to catch the rays of the moon, removing the jar before sunrise
Sometimes I put moonstone and silver on/around the jar to give it an extra moonlight magick kick
I personally like to be aware of what phase the moon is in when I make moon water, and make many batches which I use for different things (e.g., waning moon water for banishing, full moon water for divination and prophecy, etc.)

Essential oil free!
1.ย A sudden burst of sunlight, as through broken clouds
I just made my batch for this winter and I thought I'd share this recipe with you!
Good for: Physical Healing, Protection, Divination, Happiness, Love, Creativity, Prophesy, Truth, Solar Deities
Medically: cools and softens skin, helps heal small cuts, burns, irritations, SAD, breaking fever, purifying, anti bacterial, helps relieve anxiety and depression
Grapeseed or sunflower oil
Dried hibiscus
Dried juniper berries
Dried Bay leaves
Dried citrus peel
Dried dandelion root
Rosemary
A cinnamon stick
If you want to add essential oils you can, I didnt for this batch but In the past I've used frankincense, lemon, orange, cinnamon, vetiver, black pepper, sandalwood, and juniper
Best to grind the ingredients before adding them to the oil (except the cinnamon stick)
Makes a great offering for any solar deity like apollo, sol, helios, sekhmet
Let infuse in the sunshine for a few weeks-months depending on how much oil you're making, or if you want it faster & stronger you can heat it up until it turns red from the hibiscus
It smells so good so it's an excellent natural perfume, and it's great for your skin!
I tend to go heavy on the hibiscus and juniper in this but the amounts used are up to you.
Crystal infusions: citrine, garnet, carnelian
Another entry for 2021ย Craftober art challenge, you can find this and other fantasy inspired jewelry in my shop : here :3
For this week I chose the words โForgotten Templeโโฆ and then went on in my head imagining lost civilizations and an ancient cult of the Sun, whose clerics wore crystal amuletsโฆ because, wellโฆ I probably miss playing dnd too much.
The visual inspiration for this piece came from Kingdoms of Amalur and, speaking of mysterious populations, from the art of the Erathi ruins in particular.
Though I have a problem with many of the narrative choices of this videogame, the artists who designed creatures and environment created something breathtaking, and, for this particular aspect, KOA will always have a place in my heart.
Charging with Sunlight, the primordial source of all power, light, energy, and magic around us.
"Oh, great Goddesses, and Gods and Avatars of the Sun and Light who took care of my Parents and their ancestors at all times and at all moments.
You who nobly illuminate the Moon to take care of us even at Night, continue to nurture the Earth, animals and plants that surrounds me every moment, just as all of you always have.
So be it today and Always".

THE SUN:
"The home of Leos, masculine energy, proud, courageous, creative, warm hearted, joyous, optimistic, and luxurious."
Sunday, 11:11 AM (Sunday: insight to the current problems in your life, divine intervention, and healing of the soul. 11:11 AM: magical transformation, manifestation, cosmic blessing, law of attraction, abundance, and wishes granted.)
Deities: Ayanwu, Amaterasu, Apollo, Inti, Olwen, Sรณl, and Unelanuhi (Spider Woman)
Lighter
Incense
Bowl
Water
Empty bottles
Sticky note
Marker
Flowers (optional)
Perfume or essential oil
Body gel
Gold or copper highlighter/eyeshadow (makeup)
It is important that you do this spell on a sunday morning for it will be more effective. Before doing this spell, ask which deity wants to work with you, if none of the deities listed wants to work with you, work with the deity that you usually work with, or search for other deities that are connected to the sun. Once you know which deity wants to work with you, prepare your alter outside, and put down offerings for them. Make sure to cleanse your space and energy with smoke. Take a bowl, put crystals around the bowl, and then pour water into the bowl, this water will be used to make sun water so make sure its directly under the sun. In the meantime you can bask in the sun, doing so will recharge your energy, and help ease your mind. Once you felt water has been in the sun long enough (make sure its clean!), take your sun water, pour it into a bottle for later. Then take another bottle, place a sticky note onto it, then write down your wish, and the deity's name, this will be the title for your potion. Now its time to make a potion: put a few drops of the sun water into a new bottle, put in flowers, your favorite perfume (or essential oil), body gel, gold or copper highlighter/eyeshadow, and put it into the bottle. Shake the bottle and there you have a magical sun potion! Use this potion only on your body! ๐ซโจ
Benefits of this spell: Glowy sunkissed tan skin, manifest your desired friend group, have a vivacious personality, step into the room and there will be all eyes on you, be a walking god/goddess, be popular and famous, be optimistic and less pessimistic, heals and removes blockages from your solar plexus, calms anxiety, bring in positive vibes, more energy (less tired and lazy), have the inspiration to create art, and better mental health.

Hello! Do you make offerings to the sun? I personally do, and I was wondering what some of your favorite things to offer are if so? 6. Day of WITCHMAS ๐๐๐
If you're like me and don't really like the cold and darkness of winter, this post is for you.
As someone, who is fairly connected to the sun's energy I really miss it around the time of Winter Solstice. So here is a list of things you can do, while waiting for the golden star to come back.
Decorate your home with lots of golds, yellows and bronzes
Decorate your home with Sun imaginery
Burn cinnamon, frankincense, orange, ginger or bay insence
Burn candles
Buy fairy lights
Sit around a bonfire or fireplace (or just put one on in your TV/computer)
Stay warm and cosy
Eat some cosy foods - great are some spicy dishes, soups and brews
Drink ginger, chamomile or cinnamon tea
Spend as much of a time as you can in direct or indirect sunlight
Hang dried oranges around your home
Sun salt, ready to be charged in the sunlight โจโ๏ธโจ

โ๏ธSun waterโ๏ธ
Protection, healing (especially physical), happiness, truth, clairvoyance, courage, strength, prosperity, luck, self-love, cleansing, confidence, leadership, justice, gardening, growth, warmth, comfort, fertility, and creativity
Leave the water on a sunny windowsill or outside, preferably in direct sunlight. Sunrise, 9 am, 12 pm, and 3 pm are perfect times for this, or you can leave it from sunrise to sunset. You can also add herbs and flowers to it as well (lemon peels, orange peels, marigolds, chamomile, cinnamon, sunflower, etc.) Or charge it with some stones (like sunstone, orange calcite, citrine, tigers eye, goldstone or carnelian), but please donโt put these stones in the water. You can also make a sun tea with sun water for a very potent solar spell.
