⤠+ â âHi, Ana! I hope youâre feeling better... you know. You probably need a hug more than I do.â L'yhta then reaches back, trying to catch the xaela in a reverse hug while simultaneously brushing her cheek gently, affectionately against her horn.
Ana nods a little, giving the purple-haired mage another quick squeeze before releasing her. âIâm doingâŚalright, I suppose. Miss Kerin suggested I stay busy doing worthwhile things, and to write letters to myself to tryâŚsorting everything out in my head. Iâm doing ok. Just ready toâŚget back out and do something productive to help the situation, instead of cowering in the Tower.â She frowns. âIâm sorry I missed theâŚumâŚnight at the cliff the other day. Did you have a good time at least?â
((Thanks, @little-purple-thundercloud! This is fun! :) ))

âIs thatâŚis that your starship?â Stormy asked, her voice giddy as she clapped her hands despite their circumstances.
The Commander nodded with a small smirk.  âYeah, she can hear us.  Thatâs goodâŚâ
Anafenza tilted her head in confusion at this. Â While the Commander tried her communicator again, she turned to Stormy. Â ââSheâ can hear us? Â That sounded like a man on the other side?â
âShe meant the ship can hear us. Â Ships are always girls.â
âShipsâŚare always girls.â Anafenza blinked a few times but shrugged.  âI assume this is an Earth thing?â
Stormy shrugged. Â âI suppose it is. Â Sorry if thatâs confusing.â
The Commander groaned in frustration. Â âThereâs too much interference here, and we canât get far enough away from the tree to cut through.â
The other two women turned to look. Â Sure enough, as the Commander had implied, the cavern was smaller now, an odd gray nothingness taking the place of the stone walls around them.
Stormy snapped her fingers, then beckoned for the badge. Â âGimme.â Â The Commander and Anafenza hesitated, not understanding what she meant. Â Stormy huffed, beckoning for the device again. Â âItâs simple, right? Â How do you cut through interference if you canât build a better transmitter?â
The Commander squinted, her thoughts racing. Â âChange the frequency?â Â When the other woman simply nodded, as if coaxing her to keep trying, the Commander shrugged and shook her head. Â âUm, more power? I donât ââ
Stormy snapped her fingers again and grinned, interrupting. Â âMore power!â She held the device in her hand, and Anafenza saw threads of electricity start to wrap around her arm, snapping and crackling as the woman manipulated the environment around them. Â As she watched, a thick fog began to form above them.
Stormy looked up to the Commander. Â âReady?â When the other woman nodded, Stormy grinned. Â âHere we go!â She concentrated a burst of electricity right into the device, then tapped it, eliciting the chirp again.
The Commander practically leapt forward, enthralled by the womanâs powers and forgetting for a moment to speak once the device was activated. Â âSt. Peter to Rafale! Â How do you hear us now?â
There was a curse on the other end of the transmission. Â âProphets! LOUD and clear, Commander, how do you read?â
âSame, Rafale! Iâm trapped in a collapsing pocket dimension with two other people, are you able to locate us with the signal from my commbadge and my tricorder?â
âStandbyâŚâ  There were more voices in the background now, as more people began to talk over one another.  Anafenza struggled to hear them all, until finally the first man came back onto the channel.  âWeâre locked onto the tricorder now, but there is still a large amount of interference. Whatever you labeled it when you scanned it â âaether?â â itâs masking your signal.  Sensors are picking up three faint life signs but theyâre all registering as you.â
The Commander shook her head. Â âYeah, itâs a long story, but youâre picking the three of us up just fine. Â You canât transport through the interference?â
âWeâre having trouble getting a positive lockâŚâ
Anafenza shrieked then, pointing. Â âJess, look!â
Both women looked up, then to where the auri was pointing. Â The Commander gasped. Â âRafale, we have a problem! Â The dimension is collapsing faster than before!â
A female voice broke through then. Â âI just picked up a massive disturbance in your tricorder readings, Commander! Â The link we created here is punching a hole through your dimension and causing it to destabilize at an exponentially faster rate.â
âYou canât get a lock, Nizeri?â
âNegative; MâRal is coming up with a plan but we canât make it happen in the next ten seconds. Cut power; use your tricorder to send data bursts. Â Weâll send you a message when we have a good idea what to do on our end. Â Iâm sorry, maâam!â
The Commander looked at Stormy, then swatted the communicator badge out of her sparking hand.
The grey Nothingness slowed its progress consuming the cavern, and the women all let out the collective breath theyâd been holding. Â Stormy shook her head. Â âNow what?â
Anafenza spoke up instead, certain of the answer. Â âWe come up with a way to get out of here.â
The Commander nodded. âBoosting the signal definitely helped, but we need a quick solution. Â While they work on a way to lock onto us, it would help to make it easier for them.â
âA beacon of some sort,â Stormy said, and the Commander nodded.
Anafenza looked at the other women. Â âIf the aether is causing the interference, what if we gave your ship a way to better navigate the flow of it to find us?â
âNot just a beacon, but a map?â Â The Commander tapped her chin and nodded. Â âHow would we do that?â
âMy linkpearl.â Anafenza brought her hand up to her horn, feeling for the small jewel embedded there. Â âIt uses the flow of aether to communicate; your ship could use the flow the linkpearl uses to break through the conflicting aether here and find us easier.â
âThat just might work,â the Commander said.  âAlrightâŚletâs get to work, ladies.â
Ana secretly wants to stay in Il Mheg and live with the fae folk...
I am not sure if I should be reading more books about Allag, or any of the fictions that are in our stores concerning allag technology.
First, it was a room this time; smaller than my apartment by far, but not cramped. Â There was a couch off to one side, next to a window. Â On the other side of that was a small desk. Â The desk had
It was thin and rectangular. It had words and pictures on it, that kept changing, rewriting I guess. Â I didnât recognize the words â whatever language it was, I didnât know it. There were similar glass rectangles with words and pictures flashing and rewriting on the far wall as well, next to a door that I assume led out to another room. Â The window showed a vast night sky, with stars far more immeasurable than any sky Iâve ever seen.
There was a small hiss, and the doors opened. Â A woman walked in, face down and studying what looked like one of those allagan tomestones, though it was larger than ones Iâve seen. Â She was wearing black pants, and a top that was black but with white shoulders and a red stripe separating the black from the white. There was a arrowhead pinned on her chest, silver. Â She had blue skin, and short blue hair and piercing blue eyes â I didnât think it was possible for anyone to have that much blue on them naturally
She rounded the corner of the desk and sat down. Â After a moment of reading the device she dropped it on the desk and reached for a white ball that she had sitting on it. Â She tossed it into the air and then, as it came back down, bumped it back up with both hands. Â She did this a few times, oblivious to me â I think I was a ghost, watching this dream.
And then she dropped the ball, and stared right at me. Â Her eyes blinked a few times, her mouth hanging open. Â I didnât know what to do either. Â We just stared at one another. Â And then she laughed a little and said the oddest thing.
âItâs you!â
I woke up then. Â I donât know what that dream was, and I certainly didnât recognize her. Â Who was she? What was that place?
Was I even dreaming?
đ An RP experience.
So, a rant about an RP experience from me, the munâŚhmmmâŚI dunno, most of my experiences have been alright.  Iâve had a few that havenât been greatâŚbut in truth, Iâm more frustrated/angry/guilty of being the one to be ranting about.  I know Iâve made a mess of a few RP situations and burned a lot of bridges.  The biggest issue with me is when depression sinks in and I have this feeling thatâŚno one wants to play with me anywayâŚso whatâs the point? Thatâs when Iâm the worstâŚand all I can offer is that, if you happen to find yourself the target of my ireâŚjust please be patient with me. Iâll come around in a day or twoâŚI promiseâŚ
Of course!
