Everything I have learned about the Hazbin Hotel characters either comes from the wiki or the fandom.

Seriously, I don't like how you have to do homework to understand the characters' background. And I don't get the, "you have to watch the livestreams to understand!"

Look, I should watch the livestreams for fun, not because I have too. Plus, some these livestreams go on 2 hours or more.

Some people, including me, don't have time to watch 2 hours of information that is not gonna be in the show.

I think livestreams are great to explore people questions, but a lot of these livestreams are old and likely not to be canon anymore. So that is why I'm a bit hesitant to watch the livestreams as well.

So, I have an idea for a merlin fic, could be oc or reader insert, involving a kingdom of magic, a people born with wings, emrys = god of magic, bad!morgana turns good!morgana, dragonlord stuff, magic reveal, weird timeline (uther is alive, but the knights are around. ) uther WILL get bitchslapped, but I won't tell you by who, and other things. I promise, it fits together better than it sounds like it would. Yes? No?

When we think of our favorite character, we all think of the specially the color associated with that character.

Batman - black

Deadpool - red + black

The Simpsons - yellow

The iron giant - gray

Joker - purple

I try to choose some very popular characters. But still, as you can see, the dominant color aspect of their character is very much there.

The reason why it is important to add the dominant color to characters:

● It helps people recognize that character instantly

● Plus, if you are going to be really official, it can help with branding your character, like how companies try to do with their brand recognition.

While hazbin Hotel just sticks with the same colors (which it is completely fine, i will explain later). All the main characters have their dominant color as red, white, black, or pink.

I try to stick with the main cast, and as you can see, they all have either red, white, pink, or black going on for their dominant color.

Now, it is completely fine if you use the same dominant colors for your characters. A good example of this is Spiderman across the spider verse.

All of the spidermans share the colors of blue + red, but for miles and gwen. Miles is red + black, while gwen is white + pink.

But what makes the characters look unique despite sharing the same color palette. Are the backgrounds!

Spider verse backgrounds

All the backgrounds I choose have a purple/blue theme going on, but they still have colors that make them pop enough to have both the characters themselves stick out while also leaving you with drop-dead gorgeous backgrounds!

Seriously, look at miles! The background really made him pop out while keeping the background unique as well!

Hazbin hotel backgrounds

The Hazbin hotel backgrounds are good! But I feel like something is missing. Since the backgrounds and the characters are the same colors, the characters don't pop at all.

Look at lucifer at the bottom picture. Yes, he pops out, but he still looks like he is blending in with the background rather than sticking out.

I mean, look at the yellow lamp at the right. The lamp is sticking out more than the character.

Final takes:

The amount of detail in the Spiderman backgrounds is crazy. I do understand that for animation purposes, the backgrounds have to be simpler in Hazbin Hotel.

Overall, I just suggest you don't overuse the same colors for your characters, BUT if you absolutely have to! Please don't make your background the same color! It won't make your character pop, nor it would look good unless you know what the heck you are doing.

Honesty hate it in fanfictions where they make Merlin this little loser with no friends - like have you SEEN the show. Merlin is making people trip over themselves when he smiles. Everyone is in love with him and they almost fight each other just for his attention

I love how it canon in welcome home that the joyful siblings each have an element in the process of making flowers bloom.

Like Franny is the rain, Jonesy is the grass, Bea is the sun, and Julie is the flower itself.

At first, I was so confused because it didn't make sense, and then I realized each sibling (expect Julie) had what flowers need to have to grow: rain, grass, and the sun.

so, its widely headcannoned that when arthur finds out about merlin's magic he's upset that merlin didnt trust him and lied to him

i think when leon finds out its the opposite.

first of all, leon is smart and observant so he suspected the whole time. and i think when merlin finally tells him (because he definitely sits him down and tells him the truth) leon just smiles

he smiles and he tells merlin how happy he is that merlin trusts him and he would never tell anyone else his secret and he loves him so much

leon would hold merlin when he decides he's ready to tell arthur and he's so scared about how he's going to react and leon promises that if arthur is anything less than supportive they'll run away together

because as much as leon loves camelot and respects arthur, merlin means the world to him

leon would be in awe every time merlin does even the smallest bit of magic. he'd get butterflies seeing merlin make their bed with just a flick of his hand

idk man leon is just too in love with him to even consider that merlin had any ill intent with not telling him sooner

MY REVIEW OF HAZBIN HOTEL EP 2!

Summary of the episode:

This episode follows Alastor as he finally goes back in the public eye. In this same episode, we are finally meeting The vee's: Vox, Velvette, and Valentino. Now, for plot B of the episode, we follow the hotel as they receive a new guest... Sir Pentious!

My issues with the episode short formed:

● voice acting (I explain later in full)

● When Charlie said she had to get done in 6 months

● The villains for the season should be switched around

● How they handle Vanlentino character

My issues with the episode long formed:

● I heard Valentino voice for the first time, I legit thought, "Why is the Valentino voice changing?" Because Valentino had 10 different voices going on. I don't know if the va was nervous, so he kept messing up, or if he was struggling to keep up with the voice.

● in the beginning of the episode, Charlie was freaking out, saying she had to be done in 6 months. Which to me crazy! For example, if charlie plan of redemption is the first of it kind, why is she limiting herself to 6 months! Like that not enough time to prepare nor find out what she needs to do to help sinners get to heaven.

Like 6 months roll fast! Especially if you are doing something new and unique. Like things take time, that is why a lot of projects take years to take off the ground. So because of that, I do find it a little annoying whenever charlie brings up that she has to be done before 6 months. Because nobody actively told her to do 6 months, and we later see in other episodes that it stresses her out.

So why stick with the 6 month limition when it first stresses you out, and it really doesn't benefit anyone from I can see. Now I think about it, I do see why charlie wants to be done in 6 months, she want to prove to heaven that the extermination is not needed, but I don't know the hotel is not that main of focus to really care about the 6 month limition.

● I feel like the villains should be switched around. Imagine having literally Father of humanity and his right hand person against you, then only for the next season it just 3 people who apparently we supposed to be sacred of. It just feels like a down grade, so just switching villains around would probably just be more appropriate.

● honestly, I hated how Vox treated Val like a child. Like we supposed to fear Val, but honestly, I was just like, when is this gonna be over. I just didn't like how they just treated him as a kid instead of an adult. They do the same thing to charlie, where she more treated as a child than an adult. But charlie I get but Val on the other hand just no.

I would have it rewritten where Vox found out by himself rather than Val telling him. So Vox is doing his thing when his assistant tells him that the radio demon is back. Or Vox is stalking the big computer desk thing he has when he notices a familiar red deer. Either way, Vox rushes in Val room to tell him who is back in town. Then Vox is like, "he can't be back! I beat him fair and square! And Val is like, "Yes, you did, and you will do it again. I mean, you only have been getting more powerful. Maybe we should teach this deer another lesson."

I rate it 7/10, even though I had a lot to say. I really did enjoy it!

You know what would be funny? If Gwaine 'I'm a noble who thinks knights are silly' and Lancelot 'My only dream is to be a knight' were at Camelot at the same time.

Why it would be funny is because you know Merlin would be like 'I have a great solution'

And either convinces Gwaine to 'trade' places I.E. give Lancelot his seal of nobility or convince them to pretend to be brothers.

Which lead to shennanagains where Gwaine has to teach Lancelot how to act like a noble and Lancelot having to act like none of this is new and confusing to him

Also gaslighting Arthur, 'what do you mean that's not the way, I've done it this way my entire life' and it's not a lie it's just a commoner's way.

Gwaine is having the time of his life doing chores with Merlin and flirting with Morgana and generally making a nuisance of himself.

They also both know of his magic so there are those shennanagains going on, Gwaine swearing Merlin was in the tavern with him all night and Lancelot too, of course, he was there, someone had to carry Merlin home because Lancelot and Merlin are both missing, off fighting whatever evil is trying to kill Arthur/Uther this hour of the day.

Just imagine how funny it would be.
