Weirdly tedious to draw and messy visualization of a thought I’ve been having and posted about on another blog:
Friedrich the Gay Great should just have the hots for no other than Francois Bonnefoy, the most beautiful man who ever lived. Gilbert as Friedrich’s kingdom and friend/watchdog is just done with him. Anyone else who can take the crown? Literally anyone else? Please?

Nicer or more correct German would be “Wir beide gegen die Welt” or maybe even “Wir, gegen die Welt”, but this is cooler. Anyway, it means “Us against the world”.
Brandenburg-Prussia and later Kingdom of Prussia was a weird little union. Their territories weren’t connected and Prussia wasn’t part of the HRE, while Brandenburg was one of the elector states - it’s a whole mess basically. And yet, in the 18th century Friedrich II tried to take on half of Europe with that mess of a kingdom, and that seemed to work out for him. Sort of.
So here is Brandenburg and Prussia, seeing themselves as the underdogs. Whether they were however, is questionable. So I tried to go for an ominous vibe and went with one of my favorite styles for painting!
Because I’m on a roll, America and Germany in the 1950s. Sometimes both sides of the conflict are assholes. Sort of a continuation of this comic.
Addition, because I had fun drawing this:

Soooo… I’ve wanted to do this ever since my very very first APH art history dumbness. A parody, of course, off of Velasquez’s Las Meninas. I don’t want to say too much, but even with the changes I made, hopefully the atmosphere is at least similar to the original! Everyone was super encouraging to me through it, and I appreciate that so much. <3
I totally missed my 200th post today, but here’s 201 with the hope that you guys might stick with me through another 200!! <3 <3 XOXO
