A part of being an adult is living with regret and not allowing it to consume you. The older you get, the more mistakes you’ve made, opportunities you’ve missed, people you’ve disappointed. And every day you have to remind yourself to be kind and forgiving of yourself. You accept and love the you from the past and understand that it’s all a part of the process. Unpopular opinion: homework is the biggest load of BS. I mean honestly, the majority of people value the separation between home and work life, most of us don’t like when we get home and we have to continue working even though we’ve left the office. Why would we do that to children??

I didn't think I'd be doing this again after I got my undergraduate degree, but it looks like I'm back on studyblr. Right now I'm doing some online classes, but I'm prepping some grad school applications and if those go well I will be a full time student again.

Like before, my posts will mostly be for me to look back on, and not too highly polished. Think of a journal about studying and you'll have reasonable expectations.

Today I did a session of my Interplanetary Spacecraft and Satellite Engineering course. I'm just wrapping up the section on different kinds of propulsion. At first I was skeptical of the quality and depth an online course could provide, but I think this course covers the main topics and gives you a good baseline to evaluate new ideas and go into more research on your own.

I've also been trying to get outside more often, the other picture is some salt ponds I visited last weekend.

Fun history facts: One of the 31 people arrested at Stonewall on June 28th 1969 was American folk singer Dave Van Ronk, who was not at the Stonewall Inn at the time and was cis & straight as far as I'm aware. He'd been eating dinner at a nearby restaurant when he noticed a riot happening, said "Well I suppose I should go see what the fuss is about," stepped outside, and immediately started throwing bricks at the cops.
