âWhat? Like, a disabled protagonist? How would that even work? How could someone with a disability be the hero in an action show?â local anime trash boy wonders while sitting next to his box sets of Full Metal Alchemist, showing no hint of irony or self awareness.Â
Itâs finally done!!!
Iâm so used to drawing only black and white, Iâve never really done this intensive color work before, I hope it looks ok! đ đ đ

Thanks for the prompt @grab-an-idea!
Prompt: âWho are you? Show yourself!â
The job had gone wrong. It was supposed to be a small break-in. Get in, grab the artifact and leave. They had practiced it multiple times, and it had gone flawlessly. It all went wrong when they did it for real.
They had found the window, gotten into the house, and found the artifact. Or where it should have been.
âWhere is it?â Chief whispered. âWeâve been watching this house for days, and no one has touched it.â
âWhat do we do now?â Clara asked. âDo we leave or look for it?â
Chief paced back and forth fiddling with his hair.Â
âChief what do we-â
âShh, Iâm thinking.â
Clara nodded and sat down on the floor. Chief kept pacing, switching between fiddling with his hair and his belt.
Clara sat for what felt like hours before Chief stopped pacing.
âDid you hear that?â
Clara stood up. âHear what?â
Chief didnât respond, and they both fell silent again. The faint sound of footsteps echoed down the hall.Â
âWe have to go. Now.â Chief grabbed Claraâs arm and took off running. They retraced their steps through the house.
Once they got to the window, both out of breath, they stopped.Â
âWhatâs going on? Who is that?â Clara knelt breathing heavily.
Chief, still holding onto her arm, pulled her up. âWe have to get out of here. Iâll explain later.âÂ
Clara nodded and opened the window. Chief let go of her arm, and she crawled out. Chief crawled out after her, and they both climbed down to the backyard.Â
Chief pointed to the forest that surrounded the house, Clara nodded, and they took off running.
âClara go to the right. Iâll go to the left.â
âWhy? Shouldnât we stay together?â
âThey want me. Youâll be safer if we split up.â
âWho are-â Clara stopped. She didnât want to leave Chiefâs side he had helped her through so much, finding her on the street after her parents died and raising her like she was one of his own. Tears started to fill her eyes.
Chief grabbed her by the shoulders. âI will see you at home. I promise. I will not abandon you.âÂ
Chief pulled her into a hug and wiped the tears from her eyes. Chief let go of her and took off running. Clara wiped her hands on her pants and ran in the opposite direction.Â
Claraâs lungs started to ache. Not being able to run anymore she sat down on a nearby log. She closed her eyes and focused on getting air back into her lungs.
Who was chasing them? The family that lives in the house was out of town for another week. They would have seen the family car outside and would have called the job off.Â
Where was the artifact? It was their ticket out of the city. Chief promised Clara that they would move to the country and live a normal life.Â
Her thoughts were cut off by the sound of approaching footsteps. She jumped to her feet. âWho are you? Show yourself!âÂ
The footsteps stopped. Clara cautiously took a step towards the sound. She saw a large shadow standing in the distance. âChief is that you?âÂ
âNope.â A gruff voice said. The figure started to run towards her.
She yelped and ran. The footsteps were getting closer. Clara, ignoring her screaming lungs, kept pushing forward.Â
She wanted Chief to be with her. He said that this guy would go after him, not her. She closed her eyes for a second pushing back the tears that were forming in her eyes. She opened her eyes and jumped over a log. She almost cleared it, but her back foot caught the edge, and she fell hard on her stomach.Â
She curled into a ball and tried to get her breath back. The footsteps got closer and closer until she could see black boots standing right in front of her.
âYou must be the new sidekick.â A rough hand grabbed her by the hair and pulled her to her feet until she was face to face with him.Â
âWho are you?â Clara clawed at the hand holding her hair.Â
âI was the last sidekick. Until he found you and pushed me aside, now Iâm going to make him pay. I thought the artifact would be enough until I saw you.â His lips parted into a wide smile. âWe are going to have so much fun.âÂ
Um I'm dying this is beautiful and haunting!

Whether youâve been drawing for day, weeks, or years your art is valid and we appreciate it! We see your progress over time and all of us are excited to see what you create next!
We love the edited clips you are making, the affects you add, the transitions. Whether you are making a video to go with music, clipping together videos to make a narrative, or anything in between they are awesome and we love them! Keep them coming!
We love your ideas. How you find the smallest hints, how you piece them together! We appreciate your contribution and itâs so fun to see what theories are right. You realize some of the canon ego stuff exists because of theorists, right? Plus you keep the community toasty warm!
You donât get enough credit. Your stories may be based off of someone elseâs characters but the narratives and worlds you build are your own! Thank you for giving us new stories and worlds to experience!
What can I say? The memes are a big part of this community and every new one brings us together in fun and laughter! Thank you!
Your gifs are lovely and fun! One of the things many of us look for are gifs in the tag. Whether you are making them via an app on your phone or using a paid for program all of the gifs are appreciated!
This community thrives off of photos and edits of SeĂĄn! Whether they be soft or funny, photos and edits are something we all adore! Keep those posts coming!
You. Are. Valid. Whether you are just shitposting in the tag, giving thoughts and opinions, telling us about your day, spreading PMA or sharing photos of your life we love you. Please keep posting. Or if you are silent person, just liking and reblogging or simply observing, you are no more or less important than anyone else here.
You belong here, you donât have to be âtalentedâ and you donât have to be a big blog to matter. Whether SeĂĄn has reblogged or liked your stuff a million times or zero times you are important to us. You matter. We are here to support you! Donât ever think you donât belong or donât matter or that you donât contribute enough.
So that was an interesting 4 minutes of a staring contest
What I liked about it was the subtlety, cuz weâre used to somewhat spotable things right? But This was all character and expression work
I mean look at this
That change from kinda nice, a small twitch and then we have a not so nice boi looking at us. If thatâs not amazing idk what it.
Cuz nothing indicated a change in character apart from that twitch. And like clockwork we immediately knew what was going on, at this point were trained to know on sight whatâs going on.
And his words to us, telling us we HAVE to know what happens, WE have to watch to the end. Not because he wants us to, but because we need to see what happens. Heâs got us figured out too, and that means we ainât in control like we think.
We may think we are, but then again if a puppet canât see the strings it wouldnât know it was a puppetâŚ

As much as I like to complain about my weaknesses when it comes to writing, Iâm happy to say that creating characters isnât one of them. So for anyone who wants it- my quick guide on creating characters.
This list is for anyone who has a vague idea for a character but doesnât have a plot or a role in the story for them to fill. Itâs for people who have a plot in mind, but lack characters to place in it. Itâs for people who love those long, detailed character spreadsheets, but donât have the patience (or know all the answers) to fill them out. The points Iâve listed below will probably overlap heavily and influence one another- for instance, âsocietal/cultural influencesâ may inform both âphilosophyâ and âdefining relationshipsâ. It pulls the character together.
Keep in mind that this is not everything you want to know about your character- you should continue to flesh them out as you write them. This is just a baseline, a starting point, an I-just-want-to-write-something-with-this-character-but-I-know-absolutely-nothing-about-them list so you can jump into writing with or without a plot in mind. It describes them as they are on a typical, ordinary day. As you continue to write and develop them, they will become more nuanced and take on a life of their own.
 Base Personality
Jot down some base personality traits. Donât worry about getting an equal number of positive and negative traits down- or even which is which. Just feel out the characterâs base personality.
Significant Historical Events
What events have had the greatest impact on your character (that you know of so far)? Again, donât worry about getting everything- you can always add more here as they come to you later. Hit the major turning points in your characterâs life.
Societal/Cultural Influences
What societal and cultural backgrounds do your characters have? Are they living/working/existing in an area where these influences are the majority or the minority?
Philosophy
What is your characterâs default philosophy when it comes to right and wrong, or difficult moral choices? (I usually use the D&D alignment system for its simplicity- feel free to be as detailed or not as you wish).
Defining Relationships
What are this characterâs defining relationships? Enemies, friends, and family are good places to highlight. Major conflicts and points of contention are great starting points for plots.
Goals
What does your character want more than anything? What are you preventing them from getting over the course of the story? If any minor goals pop up while youâre writing, jot those down too.
This, in a nutshell, is what I did to get a book with my name on it.
NOTE: This is just my personal way of making the words go. Other people have different ways to make their words go. In the world of words, there are no right answers. Thereâs just lots and lots of tea/coffee/tear stains.
When I get an idea for a story, I open up a document, label it âBrainstorming,â and start making a bullet list of events that consist of the plot.
It has to be an idea with tangible weight. A stray bit of dialogue or something vague like Halloween, that doesnât give me much to work off of. Halloween creatures living on the same street where itâs Autumn every day- now thatâs something I can build from.
What kinds of creatures are they? What do they do? What do their houses look like? The best ideas are the ones that spark more.
This is the easy part- and the most challenging. Easy, because thereâs literally no bar. I just sat there and typed. But itâs a huge mental challenge.
When I was in first draft mode, I wanted that story out. I thought that by making it such a rough, far-away version from the concept in my head, I was only delaying the day where Iâd hold it in my hands. Turns out, thatâs what got it to take on physical form in the first place. So I quieted down, grabbed my laptop and some hot tea, and typed.
After I finished draft one, I printed it all off and highlighted the scant amounts that were passable for the next phase. Dialogue, descriptions, setting- anything that didnât look like it was up to par was scratched out and omitted.
I call the above pictures A Slow Descent Into Madness.
On a fresh document, I rewrote the story altogether- and it make a difference. I was coming up with things I hadnât even thought of previously. And it was surprising how much better the plot was than the first time around. But it was still rough.
My method was to start with the bigger, more obvious issues and work my way down. Any plot holes I found were noted, and my outline was constantly under revision. I cut out entire scenes and made mental notes on ways they could be fixed/replaced.
This is where I started cutting chapters in half to make the story flow better- but I didnât bother writing in usable chapter titles. Instead, I improvised:
These were dedicated to correcting the smaller, less obvious plot holes. This was the point where the story finally started to look close to what would become the final version.
With the story line looking how I wanted, I then moved on to sentence structure. That one song that looked terrible? Rewritten. Over-the-top descriptions and excessive prose? Gone.
This is where I had outside help. Besides this useful tool, I had two people check for spelling issues and the overall story. Once it was in decent shape to be made public, I asked for some additional help.
My betas were in the age range that my novel was geared toward, along with a couple of teachers and parents (as it was middle grade). I gave them the full manuscript, along with seven basic questions like âWhich characters were your favorite/least favorite and why?â and âWas there a part of the story that didnât make sense?â
I gave my betas three months to read a 42,590 word story, and by the end they gave me back the review sheets.
After I read over the reviews, I let the comments sit for three days so that I could proceed with a clear head. I smoothed out any flaws, scanned over the MS twice to make sure everything was right, and that is how I got to the end of writing my first novel.
Next comes publishing- which is a different beast entirely.

okay so THIS IS NOT FINISHED YET! But I feel like Iâm missing a bit of story telling in this animation. Iâm very tired and uninspired and I canât think of anything to add to make it very clear what they are doing before I start doing the backgrounds and shading, suggestions are welcome! Also, if it isnât clear whatâs going on in this animation please tell me and try to add what pieces of information youâre missing.. Also also, please keep in mind that Iâll be adding an intro where Robin and Jack can be heard making fun of Ethan for not getting the game, that should add a bit more info right there.. Also also also, maybe Iâm overthinking this and maybe Iâm adding too much information, but right now I canât tell xD SO BLEASE LET ME KNOW
Posting again because this is so important and it has helped me out so much!
I love this quote so much. It is such a good reminder. Thanks Jack, for all your PMA, and you want to help people. I love it so much!!
