this year i finally had the courage to tell my family and loved ones that i am trans/non binary, not everyone understands but they let me know i am loved and i couldn’t be more relieved or grateful.
by pure luck, a side effect of the meds i have to take for other health reasons, promote facial hair growth, it’s bizarre what a faint tash and fluff on your chin and cheeks can do for your confidence when you’re trans masc.
i am however desperate to receive top surgery, my chest is my biggest insecurity and main trigger for my gender dysphoria.
i’m unable to work full time so raising funds is near impossible, so i’ve set up a go fund me for anyone with anything to spare to help me, no matter how small or large, it all makes a difference.
merry christmas and thank you to anyone that can help, it really would mean the absolute world.
Chaotic academia is writing detailed lecture and study notes in sparkly gel pen
so can we start hunting down white liberals now or what
Some of you might have seen me complaining about my dissertation recently and I would really appreciate it if anyone could take some time to fill in this survey for my research.
I’m looking into the idea of rainbow washing and whether brands using the pride logo and being inclusive in their adverts actually convinces people that they’re an inclusive company for the LGBTQ+ community - or if we’re all just cynical about corporations using pride for profit.
Ace rings and Aro rings. What are they?
An ace ring is a black ring, usually worn on the middle finger of the right hand, that indicates you are on the asexual spectrum. An aro ring is the basically the same thing just white and worn on your left hand on the middle finger. Placement is important since other communities us rings to identify themselves. Many people on the spectrum don’t know about the rings, so it is often times a more personal symbol. It’s just a really neat way to embrace your ace-ness and/or aro-ness.
Some people go with plain black and plain white., but others like their rings with a little bit more to them. Some people might go out even further and get rings that are dragon-like. I will explain the meaning of dragons in the ace community in a later post. There are even rings out there with the ace of spades (and other suits) which the meaning of that is explained in one of my previous posts. There are also cool rings out there that are less subtle that have the aro flag colors, ace flag, colors, and the sunset aroace flag. Overall, just the normal ace ring, a black ring with embellishments, and any other ace symbols are used by people! People have all sorts of different rings that fit within the aro/ace ring vibe.
Feel free to reblog and get this info out there! ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
Brett is a close friend and coworker. After going to the doctor for severe pain, he learned that he will need surgery to prevent his condition from getting worse. Brett has been unable to work for several weeks now, and will likely be unable to work for another 6 to 8 weeks after the surgery. This funding will go towards medical bills and supporting him while he recovers. This Pride month, please help a queer trans man in need!
Please spread the word of this blog so that people know it exists. This is a safe place for all LGBTQ+ people regardless of gender or sexual identity.
hey guys. my name’s chris. i was born christina. from the time I was five years old, I knew I was trans. and I spent my high school years being picked on for being too boyish. Art was my escape. Through art, I could draw my body exactly how I wanted it to look.
This year I turned 18, and finally told my mom and dad I’m trans. I wanted to do it before Christmas, so I could spend my first Christmas out of hiding. I knew my parents would be upset, but I didn’t expect them to kick me out.
Sadly, they turned on me. they said they loved me, but that i’d be a bad influence on my five-year-old brother. a big part of me is relieved that I’ll be out of the house, but the other part of me is freaking the fuck out. i’m jobless and broke. i have three more weeks before I have to pay rent and groceries all on my own. I’ll be looking for a job, but in the meantime I'm desperate to have the security of a month’s rent.
Please PLEASE help me. if you can even give $5 … it will help so much.
Hey everyone!
Queer person here trying to get top surgery before the political transphobia burst in my country as it is happening in the US and UK right now.
Any amount donated helps, every share is crutial.
Thank you so much guys!
If You Are Or Know A Trans Person Living In England, Please Read This!
Our Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, is reportedly planning to 'review and revise' The Equality Act 2010, and plans to remove legal protections for transgender people living in England, claiming to "make it clear that sex means biological sex rather than gender".
If this becomes reality, trans people will be denied access to same-sex spaces, including bathrooms, hospital wards, shelters and safe houses. Trans people will not have a legal right to go into these spaces, meaning they will not only be at greater risk of discrimination but also legal trouble too.
If these protections are removed from The Equality Act, trans people will be forced to declare their Assigned Gender At Birth as their gender identity in these situations for their own safety.
Sunak has been vocal about his transphobia in the past. If this is approved, more of our rights may be taken away in the future.
There are multiple news articles reporting this topic, if you wish to read them.
Please, sign petitions to help stop this from happening. There are currently 2 on Change.org as I'm writing this:
"Stop Rishi Sunak scrapping Transgender rights"
"Stop Rishi's trans-rights reforming"
Even if this doesn't directly affect you, please help the ones that it does. Trans people are already discriminated against daily just for living their lives, please help us to stop Rishi Sunak from making it worse.
To all the LGBTAQ+ Muslims, you are not dirty. You are not a walking contradiction. You are beautiful and incredible. I want all my Muslim brothers, sisters and friends to know this that Allah has created you the way you are, and you are a child of his.
He loves you for who you are and what you do. You are a perfectly valid human and deserve every bit of happiness this world has to offer. This year we celebrate Eid-ul-fiter in the month of Pride to acknowledge our existence and embrace our identity.
Non Muslims are highly encouraged to reblog this post.
Islamophobic people, terfs, Nazis, Trump supporters and any lgbtaq+ phobic people DO NOT INTERACT.
