Wanna know a part of Hetalia fanon that I love and adore, and will never, ever tire of?

The Nordics.

And when I'm referring to fanon, I'm talking about all the different ways fans like to view and/or interpret the Nordics relationships with one another. (Though to be fair I'm almost positive at least one of these is more or less canon).

Like...

We have the fanon of them just being a fun, goofy band of brothers (Though I think this one is technically canon...?).

We have the anko family comprised of Denmark, Norway, and Iceland being brothers.

Or we have a variation of the anko family where you have DenNor raising Iceland as a son.

And then we have the Hanatamago family where we have SuFin raising Sealand as their son. Along with Finland's dog Hanatamago, of course.

Not to mention the Hanatamago family variation where we throw Ladonia into the mix as a brother to Sealand.

And then we have DenNor and SuFin both living together and collectively raising both Iceland and Sealand as a group. (With maybe Ladonia included? I dunno).

And we have the Viking Trio of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden going on adventures together.

And then a Viking Trio variation with them collectively helping raise a cute little baby Iceland!

And then the fanon of the whole group being one, big, weird, crazy found family who love each other no matter what! (This one is my personal favorite).

In short, I love the Nordics so freaking much and nothing is ever going to change that. They have lived in my head rent-free since I was twelve and by golly, it's gonna stay that way!

Looks like I'll be staying here for a while....

Psst... Baby viking trio

Okay, love that!

-as a younger child, Denmark was a lot more keen on protecting both Sweden and Norway. Norway wasn't sentient and was probably off somewhere eating dirt, and Sweden was incredibly stubborn and refused to listen. It frustrated the crap out of baby Den.

-Norway was both a gremlin child and a perfect angel child simultaneously. He could be super sweet and cute while also biting the shit out of someone's arm.

-Norway and Denmark were both very very stubborn, and they both disagreed a lot. Sweden essentially got to watch some of the most intense yet also strangely pathetic cat fights. One of them always ended up crying.

-Sweden had terrible eyesight, as we all know, but it was a lot worse when he was a child, so the others came to the only logical conclusion... Sweden is definitely cursed. The other two literally spent months trying to figure out what horrible sin Sweden could have committed to be so severely cursed. Sweden had to later explain to them that no, he did not cross any wizards or witches in his time, he just has really shitty eyesight.

-Norway would take very specific things very personally for no reason the others could explain. Denmark loved riling Norway up, so he would do everything in his power to piss him off. Some of these things include: giving Norway a nickname he didn't like, chewing with your mouth open (Denmark's natural state) and pulling Norway by his clothes. Norway would go fully ballistic if you did any of those things and Denmark made it his life mission to do each and every single one.

-Denmark was a lot more calm and generally more intelligent when he was younger. His decent into chaos was very gradual, but for the other two, it was really weird to watch Denmark go from a pretty responsible, calm leader to 'I'M GONNA SET SOMEONE ON FIRE AND THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO TO STOP MEEEEE' Needless to say, Sweden found the transformation very funny.

I think that's enough for now. I love this ask. Anything child Nordic centric in general is always an absolute win on this blog.

I'm actually starting to feel a little more confident in my art lately, I might actually start posting fanart

Leo screaming for his dad in ‘Flushed But Never Forgotten’ is treated as a humorous but Leo going to an adult for help when he looses his brothers is something he’s done before

In ‘Portal Jacked’ Leo goes to Senor Hueso as soon as he looses his brothers in his portal

And the reason I think Leo went to Senor Hueso was that Leo had portaled himself to Run of the Mill, making Senor Hueso the closest adult he knew.

I think it’s interesting that when Leo is left alone & believes his brothers are in danger, he’ll go to the closest adult he can find for help. 

Most cartoons have characters try & save their friends/ family by themselves but Leo is just like ‘I’m 14 I’m getting a grown up!’

Wonder if i'll get my confidence arc like him one day

Donnie gave his family chess code names for missions & even though we never hear Leo’s chess code name (we only know it started with blue) & April wasn’t on the mission where we hear the chess code names & think Donnie would have given Leo & April the codenames Rook & Queen respectively 

Raph - Red King - (The King - The most important piece. The heart. Most crucial yet vulnerable. The team need his direction and he needs their defence)

April - Yellow Queen? - (The Queen - The most powerful piece. The general. Independent. In control. She takes no nonsense and gets things done)

Donnie - Purple Knight - (The Knight - The most unpredictable piece. The quick thinkers. They jump over obstacles and offer unconventional solutions)

Leo - Blue Rook? - (The Rook - The Protectors. Observe quietly. Attack directly. They are most powerful in the endgame) 

Mikey - Orange Pawn - (The Pawn - The underestimated pieces. The late bloomers. In the endgame they become a decisive winning advantage)

Shelldon - Cyber Bishop - (The Bishop - The overlooked piece. They strike when least expected. Often fatal)
