Home, home
Sun on my doorstep
Shocks me to find
I'm a child again еntwined
In your love, in your light
In your cool summer shade
—————————————
But I love to watch you walk across my doorway
I cannot be held accountable for the things I do or say
I’m just jittery
I’m just jittery
It’s just a way of dealing with my joy
It’s just a way of dealing with my joy
Just a way of dealing with my joy

i think its really funny when people say they don't like political media and just want something 'cozy' and 'discourse free' then the media theyre talking about is like. miyazaki movies. or the moomins
“He bugs me. He’s a wise-ass. But he’s also very funny - and laughs are a great tonic in life - and he’s my favorite musician. I’ve had shows where backstage I’ve hated him. And vice versa. But then we’ll be on stage and the three of us make this sound - me, him and the guitar, and we’re eleven once more, and in love all over again.”
— Art Garfunkel
Was it really necessary to stand so closely to one another?
Stewy do you have any more information on Joan Baez's sapphic affairs that you can share please
“In 1972 I was talking with a young reporter from a Berkeley paper. He asked me if I was heterosexual. I said simply that if the affair I’d had ten years ago counted, then I was bisexual. I didn’t realize what a catch he had when he left my house and tore back up the coast to print his story.
The next morning, Gail, a good friend who had helped me at Gabe’s birth and was staying with me at the time, helping with Gabe after David and I had split up, poked her head into the bedroom and said, “There’s a guy here from the press. Did you tell someone you were a lesbian?”
I sighed and got dressed. Just my luck to have a woman greet them at the door in her nightgown.
What I said to them then, and what I would say now if asked the same questions, is the following:
I had an affair with a girl when I was twenty-two. It was wonderful. It happened, I assume, after an overdose of unhappiness at the end of an affair with a man, when I had a need for softness and understanding. I assume that the homosexuality within me, which people love to say is in all of us, made itself felt at that time, and saved me from becoming cold and bitter toward everyone. I slowly mended, and since the affair with Kimmie have not had another affair with a woman nor the conscious desire to.”
PS: A Voice To Sing With was published in 1987. Empathy towards the LGBT community was little to none among the general public. I’m not sure if Joan’s answers would’ve been different today; probably, but maybe not since she gave a similar answer in 1979 while participating in a Pride event. Either way, it’s extremely brave of her to not erase Kim and their affair from her life at the time this was published, and to speak about it with such love and care.
