Hello!!! Can I request a sonic and shadow comforting the reader after her boyfriend broke up with her? Sonic and Shadow have feelings for the reader but whether or not they tell the reader is up to you! :) Thank you!!
A/n: I assume you meant like together, but idk.
It had been hours, maybe more, since the breakup. The words still echoed in your head. "This isn’t working." So simple, so emotionless. It made you question everything. Just like that? Did they ever even care?
Now you sat curled on your couch, clutching a blanket around you like it was the only thing keeping you from falling apart. The TV played a random show in the background, but you weren’t watching. Instead, you just sat there sulking, replaying every moment that led up to this heartbreak.
What you didn’t expect was to hear a familiar tap-tap-tap on your window.
Sonic.
"Yo, Y/N!" Sonic’s voice rang out, cheerful as always. You turned your head, sniffling as Sonic perched on your window ledge like it was the most natural thing in the world. "Mind if I come in?"
You wiped your face quickly with your sleeve. "What are you doing here, Sonic?"
The blue hedgehog grinned, hopping into your room with practiced ease. "I could feel the gloom all the way across town. Thought I’d check in on ya." Then he paused when he got a closer look at your face, red eyes, tear-streaked cheeks. The grin faltered.
Oh.
You looked away, embarrassed. "I’m fine."
"Yeah, and I’m slow." Sonic’s tone was sarcastic as he plopped down onto the couch next to you. "C’mon, spill it. What happened?"
You hesitated. Sonic was your friend, someone who always managed to make you smile, even when you didn’t want to. He leaned forward, his eyes fixed on you with genuine concern.
"My boyfriend broke up with me," you mumbled, voice shaking despite yourself. "Just... out of nowhere. I don’t even know what I did wrong..."
Sonic’s expression darkened for a split second, something uncharacteristic for him, but he covered it quickly, leaning back against the couch like he was trying to play it cool. "His loss."
You sighed. "Sure doesn’t feel like it."
"Trust me. I’ve seen a lot of losers, and this guy? He’s one of ‘em," Sonic said, pointing his thumb in a random direction like your ex was out there somewhere. "If he couldn’t see how awesome you are, then he’s well, not the brightest."
You managed a small smile at that, sniffling again. Sonic noticed and immediately grabbed a tissue box from the table, shoving it into your lap. "Here. Don’t drown the couch, ‘kay?"
"Thanks," you said weakly, dabbing at your face.
Sonic shifted a bit closer, his carefree nature dimmed by genuine concern. "Look… I know it doesn’t help much right now, but you’re gonna get through this. Breakups suck. They’re messy, and they hurt." He scratched the back of his head like he was picking his words carefully. "But you’re one of the strongest people I know. You’ll bounce back. And when you do, you’ll look back on this and realize you deserve way better."
You swallowed thickly. "It doesn’t feel like I’m strong…"
"Hey, strength isn’t about never hurting." Sonic nudged your arm lightly. "It’s about getting back up, even when it feels like you can’t. And I know you can."
The kindness in his words made your chest ache. You turned to Sonic. "Thanks... Really."
He gave you a soft smile. “Anytime, Y/N.”
Just as the moment settled, there was a knock at the door.
You blinked, confused.
Before you could move, Sonic smirked knowingly. "Oh, I know who that is."
You got up slowly, opening the door to find Shadow standing there, arms crossed, eyes sharp as ever.
"Shadow?"
"Hmph." Shadow looked you over, taking note of your puffy eyes and slumped shoulders. "You didn’t answer your phone."
You glanced back at the couch where your phone was buried under a pile of blankets. Shadow seemed to notice, stepping inside uninvited. He locked eyes with Sonic, who waved casually from the couch.
"Took you long enough, Shads," Sonic teased.
Shadow ignored him, turning his attention back to you. "What happened?"
You hesitated again. Sonic answered for you. "Her boyfriend dumped her."
Shadow’s fists clenched at his sides, but his voice remained calm. "Is that so?"
"It’s fine," you said quickly. "Really. I don’t want to talk about it anymore."
Shadow stared at you for a long moment before shaking his head. "No, it’s not fine."
You let out a shaky breath, trying to hold it together. "I just… I don’t know why it hurts so much. I feel like I wasn’t good enough."
"You are."
The conviction in Shadow’s tone startled you. He took a step closer, his usually cold demeanor softening in a way you rarely saw. "Don’t let the actions of a fool define your worth. You’re better than that."
"See?" Sonic chimed in, grinning. "At least we can both agree on something!"
Shadow shot him a glare before continuing. "Dont compare yourself with me."
You let out a shaky laugh.
"See? Thats the spirit! But you know what you need? Ice cream. And a movie marathon. I vote action movies."
"Absolutely not," Shadow countered immediately. "They needs rest, not mindless chaos."
You let out a small laugh at their bickering. "Both sound kind of nice, actually."
Sonic beamed. "That’s the spirit!"
Shadow sighed but didn’t argue. "Fine. But no ridiculous stunts."
The two of them spent the rest of the day with you, Sonic cracking jokes, Shadow keeping a careful eye on you. They didn’t leave your side, not until you were smiling again.
A/n: I think I made sonic and shadows feelings too subtle...

☂︎ a/n. sorry for the all lowercase, i didnt care too much to capitalize while writing (wont happen again, i promise!) im a little rusty when it comes to writing for shadow, sorry if he's ooc
he’s already looking for you, isn’t he?
you can feel him among the flowers, petal after petal swaying with the wind, finding their way to graze across his cheeks, to the very tips of his quills. his ear twitches at the sound of your distinct chuckle, revealing your hiding spot to your ever persistent admirer.
“were you trying to hide?” he calls out from afar, footsteps trampling over the soft blossoms upon noticing you, until he takes notice and decides to soften his steps, avoiding the flowers the best he can.
“hmph.” he exhales softly, the tension in his shoulders dissipating as he sees your cheeky smile. that firm facade of his is already falling to pieces. “are you trying to taunt me?” his usually stern expression softens, not yet a smile, but the corners of his lips twitch as you stretch your arms up high, noticing the silly, yet adorable scrunching of your expression.
something always stirs inside him when he looks at you, even from afar. a sweet sense of familiarity despite how stressful the world can be.
unlike any other feeling he’s ever had.
shadow kneels down beside you, his gloved hand running across the flower petals around your waist, taking the time to drag his fingertips across your stomach. his ear flicks once he snaps out of his trance of admiring you, retracting his hand back as he clears his throat.
“come on. get up and lets go.” his harsh words mean nothing at the fault of his actions, his hand cupping your cheek gently to turn it in his direction. you can see the admiration in his eyes, despite his demanding tone.
you lazily raise your hand, waving it around as a signal for him to tug you up. he lets out a louder sigh than usual, but rises up onto his feet and takes your hand, briefly running his thumb across your knuckles. his lips part to say something else, but you interrupt him with one last attempt to beckon him to your side upon the flower field. his neutral expression sours into a scowl.
“there’s no point in trying to convince me.”
oh well. you huff frustratingly at his words. but there's nothing else to do but give up on his stubbornness.
… no, not at all. you’re not one to give up just like that in the eyes of your lover.
“no, i’m not wasting my-” his eyes widen, the stars and light flower petals illuminated within his irises as you tug him down, grasping him tight on his wrist. the cool feeling from his inhibitor ring hits your palm, but is replaced by his wonderful warmth shortly after, running your fingertips across his quills as your lover squirms within your grasp, displeased. after his incessant complaints and attempts to break free, his demeanor seems to calmen, still apprehensive, but at least he lets you brush your fingers through his quills, his head resting on your chest after a few minutes of this.
your lips part to utter sweet nothings to your lover, but his finger extends to poke you in the cheek briefly, shutting you up with the sudden gesture. he doesn’t look up to meet you in the eye, preferring the sound of your heartbeat.
“don’t.” he says plainly, his voice rough as usual, but his body relaxes once he snuggles up to nook his face into the crook of your neck. he practically melts into your touch, the rest of his face covered by the flowers. he’s flustered. “just… five more minutes, then i’m taking you home.” it’s somewhat pleasing to see him so shy.
your mouth spreads out into a wide grin. five more minutes is more than enough. and all shadow can do is sigh, completely and utterly taken by the person you are.

I love Silver....so....
Also reader is Amy's sister...idk I had this idea and thought it was cute... enjoy!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Silver paced nervously near the edge of the forest, his silver fur glowing faintly in the afternoon sun. His thoughts were a jumbled mess, all revolving around Y/n, Amy's spirited younger sister. She was kind, confident, and had a contagious laugh that echoed in his mind whenever he thought about her.
Desperate for advice, Silver decided to turn to someone who seemed to know a thing or two about relationships—Sonic. Probably not the best idea...
He zipped into the clearing where Sonic was relaxing under a tree. "Sonic, I need your help."
Sonic cracked an eye open and smirked. "What's up, future boy?"
Silver hesitated, rubbing the back of his neck. "I... I think I like someone, but I don’t know how to tell them."
Sonic sat up, his smirk growing wider. "Oh, ho, this is gonna be good. Who's the lucky lady? Wait, let me guess... It’s Blaze, isn’t it?"
Silver groaned in frustration. "No, it's not Blaze! Ugh, forget it, this was a mistake."
Sonic, thoroughly amused, leaned back against the tree, hands behind his head. "Aw, come on, don’t get all huffy. Just tell her how you feel. Be honest. And maybe don’t act too jumpy around her?? Might scare her off!"
"Thanks for nothing!" Silver snapped, storming off as Sonic’s laughter echoed behind him.
Silver stopped in the forest, leaning against a tree, his frustration boiling over. He clenched his fists and muttered, "Why did I think he would actually help?"
"Silver?" Y/n’s voice called softly.
Silver froze, his heart skipping a beat. He turned to see her standing a few feet away, her e/c eyes filled with concern. "Are you okay? You looked upset."
He sighed heavily, trying to compose himself. "I’m fine. Just... frustrated."
Y/n walked closer, her curiosity evident. "You sure? You can talk to me, you know."
Silver hesitated before blurting out, "I like someone, but I don’t know how to tell them."
Y/n’s expression faltered for a split second before she forced a smile. "Oh, I see. Well, maybe just be direct. Tell them how you feel. You’re a good guy, Silver. I’m sure they’ll see that."
Silver furrowed his brow, her words sinking in. He repeated softly, “Tell them how I feel…”
Y/n nodded, her smile kind but tinged with sadness. “Exactly. It’s the only way to know for sure.”
Silver’s heart pounded in his chest. Summoning every ounce of courage, he took a step closer to her. “I just did.”
Y/n blinked, confused at first, but as his words registered, her eyes widened. “Wait... what?”
Silver’s face flushed a deep red as he gestured nervously toward her. “I... I was talking about you, Y/n..”
Ruby’s cheeks turned a brilliant shade of pink. “Oh…” she whispered, stunned.
Terrified of her reaction, Silver panicked. In a last-ditch effort to salvage his courage, he leaned forward and pressed a quick, nervous kiss to her cheek. “I... I’m sorry, I have to go!” he stammered before vanishing in a flash of psychic energy.
Y/n stood there, her hand on her cheek where he’d kissed her, her heart racing. A slow, genuine smile spread across her face as she whispered, “You dork...”
————————————————————————
Y/n couldn’t wipe the smile off her face as she walked back to Amy’s house. Her fingers gently brushed against her cheek, where Silver’s lips had barely touched. She felt light, almost as if she were floating, the whole interaction replaying in her mind.
When she reached Amy’s place, she opened the door to find her sister sitting on the couch, flipping through a magazine. Amy looked up and immediately froze, her eyes narrowing suspiciously. “What’s that look for?” she asked, pointing at Y/n’s flushed face and the dreamy grin she couldn’t hide.
“What look?” Y/n said, trying and failing to act nonchalant as she kicked off her shoes and tried to head upstairs.
“Oh, no, you’re not getting away that easily!” Amy sprang up, blocking Y/n's path. “That’s not your normal face. You’re blushing! Spill it, Y/n. What happened?”
Y/n hesitated, her smile faltering. “It’s nothing, Amy, seriously—”
Amy gasped, clasping her hands together. “Did someone kiss you? Oh my gosh, they did, didn’t they?! Who was it? Was it someone I know? Was it Silver?!”
Y/n groaned, knowing there was no escaping Amy’s relentless questioning. She sighed and plopped down on the couch, hiding her face in her hands. “Okay, fine! Yes, it was Silver. He told me he liked me and then kissed me on the cheek before disappearing like the awkward mess he is.”
Amy let out a high-pitched squeal of excitement, practically bouncing in place. “Oh, my gosh! I knew it! I knew he had a thing for you. He’s been staring at you like a love-struck puppy every time we hang out. This is so cute! You have to tell me everything he said—wait, no, tell me how you feel first. Do you like him back?”
Y/n peeked at her sister through her fingers, a shy smile tugging at her lips. “Yeah… I think I do. He’s sweet, and honestly, I’ve kind of liked him for a while now. But I didn’t think he felt the same until today.”
Amy let out another excited squeal and grabbed Y/n’s hands. “This is amazing! You and Silver, my sister and one of my best friends—it’s perfect! You two are going to be so adorable together.”
Before Y/n could reply, a knock at the door interrupted them. Y/n’s eyes widened in panic, her face paling. “What if that’s him? Amy, you answer it. I can’t—I’m not ready!”
Amy rolled her eyes but went to the door, muttering, “You’re such a dork sometimes.” She opened the door, expecting Silver, but instead, Sonic leaned casually against the frame, his signature grin firmly in place.
“Hey, Ames,” Sonic said smoothly, stepping inside and wrapping an arm around her waist. He glanced over at Y/n, who was peeking nervously around the corner, her face still pink. “Well, well, if it isn’t little miss blushy. What’s got you so flustered?”
Amy smacked his arm playfully. “Sonic, don’t tease her. She’s had a *big* day.”
Sonic raised an eyebrow. “Big day, huh? Let me guess… Silver finally grew a spine and told her how he feels?”
Y/n groaned, hiding her face again. “Why does everyone know about this except me?”
“Because Silver’s not exactly subtle,” Sonic said with a chuckle. “He’s been tripping over himself around you for months. Took him long enough to say something, though.”
Amy smirked, leaning into Sonic’s side. “Don’t worry, Y/n. Sonic might be annoying, but he’s right. Silver likes you a lot, and if you like him back, then this is just the beginning of something really special.”
Y/n lowered her hands, her cheeks still warm but her smile returning. “You think so?”
Amy nodded firmly. “I know so. Now, come on, we need to figure out what you’re going to say when Silver shows up again.”
“Wait,” Y/n said, panicking slightly. “You don’t think he’s coming back today, do you?”
Amy grinned mischievously. “Oh, I wouldn’t put it past him. Better be ready, sis.”
Sonic grinned, clearly enjoying the moment far too much. “Oh, Y/n, you have no idea,” he said cheekily, stepping aside and revealing Silver, who was awkwardly pressed against the wall outside, his silver fur slightly ruffled and his face a deep shade of red.
“Sonic!” Silver hissed, clearly panicking. “I wasn’t ready for this!”
“You’re welcome, buddy,” Sonic replied with a laugh, patting Silver’s back. Then he turned to Amy and looped an arm around her waist. “Come on, Ames, we’ve got a date to get to.”
“What? Now?” Amy exclaimed, glancing between Y/n and Silver with a sly smile. “You’re leaving them alone?”
“Exactly,” Sonic said with a wink, already pulling her toward the door. “Have fun, lovebirds!”
Before Y/n could process what was happening, Sonic had pushed Silver into the house, the door closing behind him with a loud click. The sudden momentum sent Silver stumbling forward, and Y/n instinctively reached out to steady him, her hands gripping his forearms to keep him from falling.
The world seemed to stop for a moment. Y/n looked up, her wide ruby-red eyes locking with Silver’s golden ones. They were close—closer than she had expected—and the air between them was charged with nervous energy.
Silver swallowed hard, his voice barely above a whisper. “Hi.”
Y/n blinked, her cheeks flushing an even deeper pink. “Hi,” she replied softly.
They stayed like that for a few moments, neither knowing what to say or do. Silver’s hands hovered near her shoulders, unsure if he should step back or hold on. Y/n’s grip on his forearms tightened slightly, her heart racing so fast she thought it might burst.
“I—uh—” Silver started, then stopped, his brain failing him completely.
Y/n’s lips quirked into a nervous smile. “You’re not very good at this, are you?”
Silver groaned, closing his eyes in embarrassment. “Not at all.”
Her soft laugh broke the tension slightly, and she finally let go of his arms, though her hands lingered just a second longer than necessary. “It’s okay. I think it’s kind of… cute.”
Silver’s eyes shot open, and he looked at her with a mixture of hope and disbelief. “You do?”
She nodded, her smile growing. “Yeah. But you don’t have to be so nervous, Silver. It’s just me.”
“That’s the problem,” Silver muttered under his breath, though Ruby caught it. She tilted her head curiously, but before she could ask what he meant, Silver took a deep breath, his hands finally resting lightly on her shoulders.
“Y/n,” he said, his voice trembling slightly, “I… I meant everything I said earlier. I really, really like you. And if you don’t feel the same, that’s okay, but I just needed you to know.”
Y/n’s heart skipped a beat. She stared at him, his sincerity and vulnerability written all over his face. Slowly, she smiled, her voice soft and warm. “You’re such a dork, Silver.”
His face fell slightly. “Oh… right. Yeah, I—”
She cut him off by stepping closer, kissing his cheek and wrapping her arms around him in a hug. “But I like you too,” she whispered against his shoulder.
Silver froze for a moment before his arms slowly came up to hug her back. His face was beet red, but a smile broke out across his face as relief and happiness washed over him.
Outside, Sonic and Amy peeked through a window, grinning like proud matchmakers. “Told you this would work,” Sonic said smugly.
Amy rolled her eyes but couldn’t hide her own smile. “Alright, alright. You were right—for once.”
cw: kinda fluff??? pre-established friendship, no "traditional" romantic antics, kinda character study
You knew he was suffering, his labored breaths well visible behind the curtain, a hand over his forehead as the other was balled in a fist at his side— a telltale sign of his constant pain.
He had only left your side for a moment to excuse himself, even as you knew full well he left to suffer in silence, believing that it was the only way to keep you safe.
"Xiao..." you spoke, hesitant. You expected he would deny, push you away, tell you to go back to what you were doing.
Instead, he said nothing; yet while his brows still furrowed, he untensed his shoulders.
A silent invitation, you realized, as you parted the curtains of the balcony to accompany him.
The moonlight was strong tonight, so much so you had to use your hand to shield the light to adjust from your dark room.
It was not surprising to find him still in the same position, a dark energy faintly eminating from his tattoos. He grits his teeth, bringing his hand down from his face to lock eyes with you.
"You... you came..." he remarks.
"I did, yeah," you reiterate, smiling at him.
"...why, I could harm you, you know."
"I know that. I don't mind that fact."
He sighs, slumping to lean on the wooden railing, still seething from pain.
"You're foolish," he interjects, turning his attention to the streets beloe Wangshuu Inn. "Humans are foolish anyways."
"I know." you reply, agreeing. He has quite a point, and yet, you know he doesn't really mean it.
He's served humanity for years, as a weapon, a tool; and he's been mistaken, given as misinformation, and feared by humanity, despite all that he had done for them.
Truly, you could understand.
Xiao loved humanity, and yet, he could not afford to.
"And yet, you don't mean that, do you, Xiao?"
"Hm?" He whips his head around to face you, his hands gripping the wooden railing tight.
"You've served humanity for years, despite how they've treated you."
"It is my duty to do so," he says.
"Yes, I'm aware."
"And?"
"And, despite all that, why do you think I'm here?"
Xiao goes silent.
"I understand your struggles, and all that you provide for Liyue. And yet, I don't want you to shoulder this alone, even if it is your duty."
"But—"
"I know there isn't an option to truly take away all of your pain and karma," you continue, "But I at least want to be here for you, Xiao."
Xiao looks back at you again, a change in his expression, however faint it was, it was there; and the fact he could express it made you smile.
"...I thank you, for your understanding." he finally reacts, his eyes softened— a more tender look decorating his features, yet still pained.
Being able to directly hold eye contact with him; not as a monster, as a human— as someone who understood him, shook Xiao to his core.
How could I be appreciated like this? I don't deserve it, right?
Soon enough, the darker swirls stopped appearing around him, and Xiao was finally able to untense his limbs.
"The pain is... less intense now," Xiao remarks, "it will come back soon, though."
You nod.
"However." He swallows. "I thank you, again, for staying with me."
"You don't even have to ask. I'll always be here for you."
"Then... I wouldn't mind staying with you a little longer."
His cheeks had a slight red tint to them, which did not go unnoticed. You giggled a little.
"That's cute..." You mused.
He blushed even harder.
"I-I-... I am not 'cute'..." He stutters, looking away from you.
"Oh, you heard that... right, you're not human."
"...I am an adepti. I assume my senses may be slightly more attuned than a mortal's."
"Hm. Well, since we're out here, do you want to do something?" You asked.
Xiao sits down on the ground, his back on the railing as looks towards you.
"Come, sit here."
You gingerly tread next to him, sitting down at his side.
"The stars," he muses, almost dreamily if you squinted, "they're... peaceful."
"Yeah, I agree."
"They are far away, yet so close to us. During the day, they are hidden; but when night arrives, the glow of the stars reminds me that time still stays still sometimes."
You recall the ages of the adepti, remembering that Xiao had lived for many centuries, and many months and years. The only solace for the passing of time so rapid could only be something so concrete, like the stars.
"For the 500 years you've been around, you mean?"
"Yes."
The two of you sit in silence, only the occasional whoosh of the wind or the shuffling of clothes as you fidgeted in your seat interrupted it.
Before you even realized, you had awoken, in your bed with the covers tucked under your chin.
Turning on your side, a small slip of paper had appeared on your nightstand whereas a lack of one from before.
"I hope you rested well. I have gone for other duties, but I will return at nightfall. I hope you will accompany me once more. - Xiao"
A small smile graced your face, knowing you were able to bring him peace, even just for a little while.
