There's the ghost of a child playing above Bludhaven

He's a short little thing, who glows and waves around a little sword. Sometimes he has a ship, sometimes he doesn't.

The kid keeps saying that it only fits that Bludhaven be his haunt, because it has "blud" in it and his name is "Youngblood".

Also he has declared Nightwing to be his nemesis.

Nightwing loves it; he gets to have at least one day a week that's just goofing off with a kid who can't be hurt by any of his regular villains. Their "fights" are more like play dates, if he's being honest, and Youngblood is a good kid.

Sometimes he's swinging from the sails of the kids ghost ship, dodging "ecto blasts", other times he's "teaming up" with Youngblood and "sword fights" another spectral Hero, called Phantom.

Generally, they all have a good time.

Until one day, he stumbles across some men in white suits actually managing to hurt the ghost child.

That day, the GIW learns that the most violent Robin wasn't the second one, but the first.

Hey remember when Tumblr banned porn and everyone fled to Twitter and the internet by and large became that much more insufferable? Yeah well, we’re about to get the sequel no one’s been waiting for

Hey Remember When Tumblr Banned Porn And Everyone Fled To Twitter And The Internet By And Large Became

A recent lawsuit is calling into question the very law that makes user-generated content possible on the internet and it’s going before a bunch of old people who have no idea how the internet works. If Section 230 gets repealed or modified, the internet as we know it will radically change forever. Content policing will be that much worse; and either the guidelines will be so restrictive it’ll squeeze the life out of their sites, or sites will close their doors all together by not being able to meet the moderation demand and not wanting to risk being liable.

Unlike SOPA way back in the day, this one is quietly flying under everyone’s radar so there’s no big pushback like last time, so there is a very real possibility this goes down in the worst way possible. So Yeah Ya’ll may want to start saving your favorite content if you feel it’s going to go bye-bye

If only in the states we had price transparency!!! If you knew what the cost was upfront you could price shop! But there's no way to really streamline that process with insurance companies involved. Yet. We're getting closer. But even with the flaws, I'd rather pay for what I need when I need it instead of giving my money to the government to manage anything.

National Healthcare

I get it. I do. I was raised in a country with socialized healthcare. The ERs took care of all my acute childhood injuries, fractures, injuries from a car accident, etc. It seemed perfect. As a child.

Someone very close to me back in the UK told me yesterday that she stopped by a 95 year old's house the evening prior to check on him (she's a pastor and he attends her church).

He was collapsed on the floor, suffering with pneumonia and had fallen. She couldn't move him alone and the 999 dispatch (911) told her not to in case he was injured from the fall (pretty likely given his age).

She called the emergency line early evening. And the ambulance arrived at 5am.

There were only 10 rigs running the entire county that night due to government budget cuts. A 95 year old with pneumonia lay on the floor with his pastor holding his hand for nearly 12 hours, waiting on care.

I have family members who had to move across the country for better chronic care, family members sent home with sepsis, given wrong instructions that led to devastating consequences, who have shelled out of pocket for private care on TOP of their extensive taxes that go to the NHS.

My friends who are *doctors* in the NHS have gone on strike more than once to protest for living wages and hours that aren't dangerous. Don't get me started on the overworked nurses.

I have also worked within the US's only government run healthcare. And there are huge problems within it's system, still! (And amazing people who are really trying, too)

Stop thinking the same issues that we have with the current system won't arise. Understaffing, opioid crises, medical mistakes, high costs of chronic care.

Stop thinking that government budget cuts (that can and will happen) won't affect care.

Stop thinking that taxes won't rise across the board.

Stop thinking healthcare for all is a magic remedy.

I am an American, and an immigrant, and my healthcare here has been routinely phenomenal. There are issues everywhere. Please don't vote for someone who promises a magic solution.

RE: Catholicism during the Holocaust

I know “thought” and “Catholic” kinda destroy each other like matter and anti-matter, but what the heck, I will give it a go anyway.  Just remember, denying and/or ignoring these facts does not make them less true.

1. Hitler was a Catholic and claimed in all his writings and speeches that he was “doing God’s work.”

Okay I'm finally doing the rant!

Even if somebody deserves to die (which is not our judgement to make) or needs to die for the safety of others (which is also a difficult judgement to make and must be a last resort) their death is still a tragedy and should never be praised or cheered.

You can believe that somebody's death was a neccessary evil while still understanding that it was evil nontheless. I don't think it's acceptable how many people right now are cheering for others to die. The death of an evil person is just one more person who will never be able to better themself.

I'm just begging people to research things like the French Revolution where the need for justice was turned into a desire for violence and nothing more. I'm asking you to wonder where it ends. Every CEO can be replaced by one with better security. Every politician can be replaced by one with more extreme policies to keep you in line. Your neighbor who works at an insurance company can be replaced by the boss, but her kids will never see their mom again.

Isn't that serious? Isn't that a big deal? Or will your 'great revolution' be carried out without fail, only hurting those with power that truly deserve it? Once all the big bads are gone, who'll replace them? Just another one of their buddies. Unless you take complete control so you and YOUR buddies get to make the unethical decisions! I mean, you've already killed several people to get here, might as well keep killing anyone who threatens your power! Oh- but you'd never do that. You're one of the good people! You've proven your goodness by salivating over the idea of waving a politician's head on a stick! Good people never look for peaceful solutions!

Empathy is just... gone it seems. People who disapprove of violence or question the helpfullness of this 'street justice' aren't thoughtfully debated, they're called 'bootlickers' and 'facists' and told to kill themselves.

You can believe that a system is corrupt and needs reworking without murder being your first choice! Murder should be the last choice! Maybe if you care about a system being changed you should research the system and attack it in ways that won't get people killed.

Stop cheering for murder!

(Oh, and don't bother ranting at me in the comments. I wrote the rant for you to save you the time:)

"Well as an [insert oppressed group here] what you're saying is actually really harmful due to the damage that these bad people cause the world. You don't understand the painful lives people live that make killing other human beings morally justifiable. I'm going to argue that killing people is okay, even though your original argument is towards the mindset of cheering evil acts like murder and thinking of oneself as a hero who can never make evil decisions rather than towards the neccessity of said evil actions. Some people laugh about murder to cope, you abelist! And you're also a hypocrite because you're totally okay with gay disabled people being murdered despite never saying anything that would imply being okay with that! I will continue to project my own beliefs onto you, turning you into a villain until I am pleased with the thought of your violent death! There is nothing wrong with me and I don't need to work through these issues rather than spread them online! I don't know you, but I hate you! Kill yourself, you facist!"

Seriously I could not care less what you comment. If your argument is that murder is good and people should be killed without trial and that I am somehow a bad person for questioning the morals of your belief, then... your opinion kind of means nothing to me..

I’ve thought like really long and hard about all the male characters presented in Remarried Empress and, might as well do a blurb on Heinley… err Heinrey I’m still flip flopping between the translations for the name

I’ve done previous breakdown on my opinion of Sovieshuu here if anyone’s curious. The reason why I love Heinrey so much is not so much to do with the fact that he’s the classic good looking male lead or whatever but because he is honest. And that really is what makes it or breaks it imo when it comes to Navier’s relationship. Prior to the divorce it’s really hard to see this!!! Because of the whole bird thing, it really covers up why their relationship works!!! This honesty doesn’t even manifest until after they go to the Western Kingdom!

(mild spoiler warning as most of this is post-divorce, i tried to keep it light)
