No exaggeration. No hyperbole. One of the justices of the Supreme Court is proposing that the country should violate human rights en masse.

โ€” Jonathan Cook (@Jonathan_K_Cook) March 15, 2024

Hostages tortured to death. Parents executed in front of their children. Doctors beaten. Babies murdered. Sexual assault weaponised. No, not Hamas crimes. This is part of an ever-growing list of documented atrocities committed by Israel in the five months since 7 October โ€“ quite separate from the carpet bombing of 2.3 million Palestinians in Gaza and a famine induced by Israelโ€™s obstruction of aid. And yet while the western establishment media has been chock full of the most lurid allegations of savagery directed against Hamas, sometimes with little or no supporting evidence, Israeli atrocities are excused or quickly forgotten. Accusations against Hamas are endlessly reheated to paint a picture of a supremely dangerous and bestial militant group, in turn rationalising the slaughter and starvation of Gazaโ€™s population to โ€œeradicateโ€ it as a terrorist organisation. But equally barbarous atrocities committed by Israel โ€“ not in the heat of battle, but in cold blood โ€“ are treated as unfortunate, isolated incidents that cannot be connected, that paint no picture, that reveal nothing of import about the military that carried them out. If Hamasโ€™ crimes were so savage and sadistic they still need to be reported months after they took place, why does the establishment media never feel the need to express equal horror and indignation at equivalent or worse acts of cruelty and sadism being inflicted by Israel on Gaza โ€“ not five months ago, but right now? Israel's torture of doctors, its sexual assaults of Palestinian women, it's leaving premature babies to die after its forces stormed a hospital. Where is the outrage? This is part of a pattern of behaviour by the western media that leads to only one possible deduction: Israelโ€™s five-month-long attack on Gaza is not being reported. Rather, it is being selectively narrated โ€“ and for the most obscene of purposes. Through consistent and glaring failures in their coverage, establishment media โ€“ including supposedly liberal outlets, from the BBC and CNN to the Guardian and New York Times โ€“ have smoothed the way for Israel to carry out mass slaughter in Gaza, what the World Court has assessed as plausibly a genocide. The role of the media has not been to keep us, their audiences, informed about one of the greatest crimes in living memory. It has been to buy time for US President Joe Biden to keep arming his most useful of client states in the oil-rich Middle East, and to do so without damaging his prospects for re-election in Novemberโ€™s US presidential vote. If Russian President Vladimir Putin was a madman and a barbarous war criminal for invading Ukraine, as every western media outlet agrees, what does that make Israeli officials, when every one of them supports far worse atrocities in Gaza, directed overwhelmingly at civilians? And more to the point, what does that make Biden and the US political class for materially backing Israel to the hilt: sending bombs, vetoing demands for a ceasefire at the United Nations, and freezing desperately needed aid? Worrying about the optics, the president expresses his discomfort, but he carries on helping Israel regardless. While western politicians and commentators worry about some imaginary existential threat those brief events of five months ago pose to the nuclear-armed state of Israel, Israel is quite literally wiping Gaza off the map day by day, quite undisturbed.

Torture, executions, babies left to die, sexual abuseโ€ฆ These are Israelโ€™s crimes

Eye wonder...

Keep an eye open:

- remain vigilant for someone or something

- keep a lookout

Have one eye on:

- to keep looking or paying attention to someone or something else while you are doing something else

- look

- focus

And โ€”> Why does she make the shape of a triangle around her eyes???

The Eye of Providence :

- is a symbol recognized by Freemasons everywhere as a beautiful representation of the watchful care of the Supreme Architect

Also called The All Seeing Eye:

- which also appears on the One Dollar Bill

- โ€œOn the right-hand side in the background of Mona Lisa, we can locate the form of the masculine pyramid. In the language of symbolism, this is also known as the pyramid of the Sun or the pyramid of the Man. In Mona Lisa, Leonardo even painted a spot on the pyramid to indicate the two parts: the body of the pyramid and the all-seeing-eye of the apex. Later in this study (Theorem 10) we prove that the height of the all-seeing-eye pyramid is divided so that the two parts form a relation that is the golden ratio.โ€ https://houseoftruth.education/en/teaching/mona-lisa/the-all-seeing-eye

- the Mona Lisa - most famous painting in the world, and her identity is never truly known ...

Yup. Itโ€™s gone this far. I am playing the DaVinci Code with Taylor Swift. ๐Ÿ‘

Also... as a fun side note,I like to imagine that Taylor rented out the Louvre where the Mona Lisa is in Paris just for her and Kar for the most romantic date of all time, maybe on their honeymoon ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•

When I actually think about it, the idea that most celebrities-- who are often just the world's most successful theater kids-- are primarily monogamous and straight is patently absurd.

You've got some of the most attractive people in the world, who often have significant access to wealth and substances, and their jobs very often involve congregating together while scantily clad (and under the influence). Many are paid to convincingly feign falling in love with one another, and often, the line between showmance and romance is incredibly thin.

Many of these celebrities can and do make enough money that they do not need to marry someone to keep a stable roof over their head.

Many of these celebrities also do eventually write tell all autobiographies, where they detail lives that include multiple lovers, often same gender ones.

And every time someone comes out of the closet, they tell a shockingly similar tale: at at least one juncture they have been told they need to present as straight and monogamous to continue having a career. Their management recommended arranging a pr or lavender relationship, and very often, they did participate in at least one pr relationship. Many also admit that they've had a number of famous same gender partners who they can't disclose the names of because those partners are still in the closet.

And realistically, if you've read even one book about the sewing circle or scotty bowers or hollywood's queer history, the patterns become impossible to ignore.

I also need so many more people to understand that Whitney Houston's close friends believe she would still be alive today if she would'nt have been forced to break up with her longtime companion Robyn Crawford. That allowed Bobby Brown and all the terrible harm he caused Whitney into her life.

I think about what Chely Wright said, too; about how many closeted celebrities end up as suicides, where no one ever figures out the motive. I also think about how common it is for closeted people to turn to substances to self medicate, and how common that is in celebrities too.

We are oh-so-quick to blame a celebrity's lack of willpower or addictive personality or familial propensity for why they struggle with substances or end their own life, but rarely do we stop and think: how many more beloved celebrities would still be with us today if they didn't have to pretend to be someone they're not? If they could freely and openly be with the person or persons they loved (or just play the field if commitment isn't their thing), how much shorter would the list of famous suicides and famous drug-related deaths be? How many fewer cases of alcohol-linked cancer, or accidents where alcohol was a key contributing factor?

How many queer heroes have we been denied, both by never knowing they were part of our community, and by having their life terminated prematurely?
