01. The Demon Queen of Limbo.

MARCH IS THE MIGHTY MONTH OF MARVEL! One new character from the Marvel Multiverse every day. To kick it off I give you… Magik. Badass younger sister of Colossus, sometime Demon Queen to the malefic hordes of Limbo, occasional Dark Goddess of the Phoenix Force. Always fearsome to behold.

This image ended up being a little more J-horror than I’d expected, but that’s what I get for continuing to dress the X-men in prep school uniforms.

One of the most frustrating things about the common "Tim only thinks murder is wrong because of Batman" misconception is... No, that's Steph. That's literally Steph.

Four panels from Detective Comics Issue 649, depicting the very end of Stephanie Brown's first-ever comic book appearance. Stephanie, Batman, and Stephanie's father Arthur Brown (alias the Cluemaster) are standing on a platform suspended over Gotham City by a large helicopter. Steph is in her Spoiler costume but is otherwise unmasked, while the two men are in their full masks and costumes. Arthur is on his knees in front of Steph, who is strangling him with a chain as Batman looks on.

Batman: Stephanie, don't...
Steph: He destroyed my life... Destroyed it!
Batman: No. He hurt you. But if you kill him it won't be Arthur Brown who destroyed your life. It will be YOU.

Stephanie releases Arthur, who crouches on the ground gripping his throat and groaning in pain.
In the final panel, the police close in to take Cluemaster into custody, Spoiler's mask blowing away on the wind to signal the end of her crusade... for now.

Tim: That doesn't make letting him die the right thing to do. What Batman and I do isn't all adventure and cheap thrills. There's a commitment and it's never an easy one.
Steph: To THIS guy? He's probably got a list of excuses going back to toilet training. 'I was poor.' 'My daddy didn't love me.' 'We didn't have video games.' I probably came from his same neighborhood, or one just like it. You don't see me busting into appliance stories and MY dad's the Cluemaster. Wake up and smell the Apocalypse, Boy Wonder. When we're all dying, what's one more life matter?

Steph scowls. In the next panel, she's put her mask back on and is digging out the snow with her hands.

Steph: Okay. But I don't have to like it.

Steph: Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!
Black Mask: And everyone I might kill after tonight. All you have to do is decide to become judge, jury and executioner.
Steph: I could do it. I could! Maybe I even should. But that would mean ignoring everything Batman has taught me. And I've already done too much to betray his trust.

If Tim Drake never met Batman, Tim would still believe that killing people is wrong. It's a foundational part of his morality, he literally came to Bruce hoping to stop him from reaching that point of no return (or the one where he works himself into an early grave).

If Stephanie Brown never met Batman, she'd have killed a bitch by now. Probably her father.
