Like I said in my previous post, I just started making pixel art a few days ago, and here is what I did in those days. I take advice and constructive criticism because I know that will be super helpful, especially as I'm just starting.

First one: Some donuts I made when watching a YouTube tutorial about how to use aseprite.

Second one: A coin I made in a few minutes (I couldn't find the colour I wanted so I just gave up on that and did whatever).

Third one: A viny pumpkin

Fourth one: a chocolate cinnamon roll

Alr, so this is just expressing my thoughts after reading It's a Good Life by Jerome Bixby, as well as after watching an in depth analysis on it.

Honestly, I really really enjoyed this short story, especially as it is in the cosmic horror genre (absolutely one of my favorite genres).

Now, this is the message that I interpreted from the story:

I think there comes a fear in being unable to live. A fear in not being allowed to live. A fear in trying to make the conscious decision to live. And yet what do we do? Often, we take this conscious decision in our daily lives ‐ and we face this fear - knowing that, although unspeakable horrors may yet lie in the ineffable (or something we know and are unable to explain its ineffable consequences), our lives are good because we exist, and even if we're seen as the "bad man" (quote from the story; it could represent a multitude of things, but i see it, in the context of the story, the want to be able to express one's own individualustic desires, thoughts, and creativity), our 'rebellion' from this absurdity is what makes us ultimately human.

yeah looking back on my interpretation, it's definitely absurdist, but hey, absurdism is one of my favorite philosophies, so I'm not complaining!

Anyway, please go read this short story, it soooooooo sooo good it's such a well-written story.

I was looking around backstage, and there was in one corner was one of the exits. This was at 7:55 am, and it was pretty dark. The only light was emanating from the exit sign. It looked pretty creepy, so I ended up taking a picture of it and then edited it a few different ways

There no shame in never becoming fluent in your target language(s). Learning a new language even a little bit is great. Having the ability to communicate even a little bit is great. Learning about the culture(s) is great. You're doing great. Enjoy the experience.

Thanks for the wisdom, sir. I actually needed this right now.

English and Dutch erosion

The word neighbour has two syllables, but it comes from an Old English three-syllable word, which in turn stems from a Proto-Germanic five-syllable word. In the last few weeks, I've shown how French eroded. Now it's time to have a look at and a listen to English and Dutch, which had a way with erosion too...

Actually really quite similar to aseprite. Nice. For android I've been using Pixel Studio, but I'll see which I like better.

BTW for anyone wondering what pixel art app is good for Android

Ive just seen ReSprite and it looks pretty much the same as Aseprite! They just released an Android version!!

I 100% agree with this statement. Although I have been blessed enough to have really good history teachers for most of my life (having it as a hobby is definitely so much better though)

new vegas gothic

you find a a safe in a wall that’s [Locked - Hard], but can’t unlock it yet because your lockpick skill is only 63. when you finally get it to 75, you return, only to find the wall is bare. had the safe even been there in the first place?

there is a red marker on your HUD, and ED-E is playing is playing battle music. you ready your weapon and spin, darting your eyes across the flat, barren expanse of brown, but nothing is coming to attack you.

this would be a perfectly normal hotel room, if not for the dried blood on the floor, the skeleton in the bathtub, and the teddy bears stuffed in the toilet.

something glints at the mouth of that giant dinosaur statue. binoculars, or a scope? either way, you’re being watched.

crucified degenerates line the craggy road like a picket fence. they smell dead, but when a crow lands on one of their shoulders to peck at the peeling flesh on his cheek, you could have sworn you saw him flinch.

ever the scrounger, you find yourself approaching an abandoned trailer. there’s graffiti on the wall bidding strangers to KEEP OUT, but that’s never stopped you before. you enter, only to discover it’s filled with high-tech broadcasting equipment. “johnny guitar” loops on the radio, despite the fact that the equipment isn’t even plugged in.

you sit by the fire after a tiring day, to rest your weary legs and chow down on some iguana bits. as your teeth tear through the juicy, rubbery flesh, it suddenly occurs to you that you’ve never actually seen a single iguana in all your time out here.

you should be pleased that you successfully hacked this terminal, but the fact that the password was HELPME left you just a tad bit unsettled.

you return to visit your grave in goodsprings cemetery one night. as you stare down in the hole, you hear a ghostly whispering in the breeze, and you get the strange, sudden urge to climb back into it.

Somewhere along the way we all go a bit mad. So burn, let go and dive into the horror, because maybe it's the chaos which helps us find where we belong.R.M. Drake
