What was it like getting into Gravity Falls at 8 years old?

I was actually 18, although if I started watching Gravity Falls in the first 4 months it was airing, I would have been 8!

It was fun! I’d heard of it before, and knew it was well-liked, but I wasn’t familiar with it. My best friend recommended it when I was looking for a show to watch - Stranger Things season 4 was coming out, and the fandom looked fun, but I thought the horror would be too much for me.

I liked it immediately. It took me about 2 1/2 months to watch it the first time. The whimsy of the show was refreshing, especially Mabel’s, who reminds me of myself at that age. I got even more into it around the end of season 1, and after I finished the show, it became my main special interest. I partially wish I’d seen Gravity Falls while it was still coming out and I was a kid, but 2022 wasn’t a bad time, either - I never got my hopes up for Season 3, and I don’t have to wait long for The Book of Bill!

The Lavender Haze has crept up on me, and I have a new favorite music video of all time! I’m so in love with the purple and space visuals - this is perfect!! The healing thing Taylor does with her hand and the cosmic koi also stand out in my mind. It all feels like a weird, beautiful dream. Thank you, Taylor! 💜

Also, the constellations on the Mastermind vinyl cover are Sagittarius and Pisces - Taylor’s and Joe’s zodiac signs. Perfect. (I hope we get a Mastermind music video someday!!)

Stayed awake so we could stay in that lavender haze and catch a glimpse of another one of Taylor’s 13 sleepless nights. The Lavender Haze Music Video is out now! ☪️
