Thank you so much! I’ve been painting my furby Tumbleweed and this post is super helpful!
tips for furby customisation for anyone new to it:
i cannot stress enough the importance of paint primer and a sealant.
y'see, because the plastic is so incredibly smooth, there's nothing for the paint to grip to and it just wants to slide off and chip away
with primer it gives the paint something to hold on to and sealant does what it's named after, it seals the paint in with a protective layer to prevent chipping!
it can also give either a matte or shiny finish depending on which sealant you use and which you want to use
my reccomended primers are:
professional primers from craft stores (idk any) or just a thin layer of pva glue (liquid form)
reccomended sealants are:
craft store sealants or mod podge which has a matte or shiny option
I painted some freckles for Tumbleweed!
Make sure to keep your Furby nice and warm!
It is with great pleasure that I announce the acquirement of 3 McFurbies.
He’s my first attempt at making a custom furb, and I think he turned out quite well!
He was born June 1st, 1999
(I removed his face to remove the eyes without using the hot glue method.)
I promise I’ll post updates about Tumbleweed when I get home, Gooseberry is the only Furb I brought on vacation with me.
More pictures of the critter (his name is tumbleweed)
Happy Holidays from a very dirty furby!
I’m planning to clean him up, and maybe customize him.
She didn’t work when I first got her, but after some cleaning, she’s nearly mint!
