Food was always the way to his heart, so Robin was right to suggest it to him. It was incentive enough for Assan to continue attending, that and he liked fantasy and roleplay. It was absolutely not reason for him to organize any of the gatherings though, Assan would leave that to the professional people gatherers. He felt fortunate that Robin never seemed to have much of a problem understanding him, perhaps that was owed in part to her clairvoyance. That seemed to be a trademark among some of the fey. As carefree as Assan came across, it wasn’t all sushi rolls and smiles. Everyone had their struggles, everyone had their conflicts. “Salmon,” came the easy response as if to say that she didn’t need to worry about him.
...
“The gods are turning their eyes to this realm, Assan. Worry is not something I can let go lightly,” she reminds her with a sigh. Problems kept pilling up like an abnormally dangerous Jenga tower and pretending that they are not is not something that she is capable of doing. Not when it is clear that the smallest of nudges might bring the entire tower crashing down in a tragic manner. Robin can’t help everyone, can’t protect them all, but she has to try to protect those she cares about. Has to try and protect her court too, before everything else. But if she can, she will protect her best friend too, as best as she can. “But do not take as me not trusting you, I know you can take care of yourself. I just. Well, with everything I cannot help the worry.”

“I think I’m in love with a fool who won’t love me back.” At least, not in the way Yavie wanted, not in the way that felt meaningful. How many year had it been? Several centuries, at least, they loved, they fought, they fought some more and now Yavie was here alone as he always was. “Do you think it’s possible to be in love with the idea of someone?”
...
“Of course,” she answers his question with no hesitation, countless examples found within literature springing to mind, and countless of her own experiences crowding her thoughts at the same time. Robin had always given love freely, but that didn’t mean she always did it correctly. “I have done it a couple of times, and while the experience still has worth — Well, it isn’t quite the same as falling for someone after seeing them for who they are. But don’t take me for an expert, I have yet to feel a love like the ones written about in stories.”
She pauses.
“Can I ask the name of said fool? Or would you prefer for it to remain in anonymity?”

Zahrya hums, a finger on his chin as he grins in Robin’s direction. She and the others were sights to behold, as any eladrin in their status would be, but neither she nor Aurora had the years to let their beauty flourish as he had and Laer once put it best—-summer follows spring.
“Yes yes, beauty is easily obtainable but wonderment goes further. You must dazzle, stun, and amaze all at once with your very presence. Perhaps one day you’ll shine nearly as bright as me!” he giggles, clearly amused by the idea. It was his to rise and hers to fall, so he didn’t think it was possible but who knows. Maybe Robin carried within her an autumn the likes of which Zahrya has never seen. Doubtful, but possible nonetheless.
He loses himself for a moment in the scene of small critters enjoying their blissful day. Robin is correct in that regard at least, displays like that are one of the treasures of this forest. “It’s not just for her,” he shares. “We deserve a place of our own. Here, we can make our own and raise our young ones safely. I was the only one afforded that luxury, and though this isn’t on the scale of the maze, this forest will suffice.”
...
Robin has an inkling on the direction Zahrya’s thoughts are going, an idea as to what he is alluding amidst his works. Each of court had their innate sense of superiority over the others, and Spring tended to brag about it’s ability to create life. If she isn’t wrong, she knows exactly what he was implying.
She wonders if he realizes how particularly infuriating that belief is, but Zahrya had never been particularly aware nor smart so she doubted it.
“I suppose that is possible,” she concedes, a brief nod to mimic an agreement despite none of her words were a true agreement. Zahrya could keep his misconceptions and biases, for he had so few on his life outside of that and his devotion to the Queen. She wouldn’t want to take that away with the truth. Not when she is trying to mend bonds.
“I am sure the courts appreciate it, I know I do,” she confesses, despite the tugging of guilt at the knowledge she has stolen the Tiber’s land. And yet, the courts now more than ever.
"Every once in a while, I feel your judgement loud and clear," Robin drawls as she rolls her eyes but keeps herself smiling politely at the other guests. It's truly a surprise how easily different species are mingling, and she truly does not know if she feels all that comfortable about it. Regardless, it was Meryasek's wish for all of them to be there, and she will be indulging him as much as she can for the rest of the festivities. After all, one only got married once, if they were lucky. "Considering I have an actual home, I truly don't know how to feel about it."
@thegoodfellow location: Royal Wedding Reception notes: he's her date because she's maidenless and he likes food
Nirvaan had really planned this whole thing? Planned this whole wedding and never mentioned it even once, not exactly best friend behaviour of him. They even had sex that one time. For the moment Robin was Assan's best friend again as he stood at the long reception table and stuffed his pockets endlessly. He wouldn't have sex with her, not after the Bill thing but they were still friends. "Tuna." Assan said with a nod as he inspected a piece of fresh tuna before he popped it into his mouth.
who?@rowanivar where? the vendors
"Please tell me you actually know that we are in a party thrown by vampires, love," she asks the mortal she had seen wandering around giving the most intense 'i am just a little guy going through life' she has seen on her decently long life. At least he didn't seem to be out of place, more so, looking like he is here on a date. Good for the dude. "There is another human walking around draped in a sheet and pretending to be a ghost and I am pretty sure he knows shit all about the wolf den he just walked into. I don't want to nanny the both of you, but I will if you are also clueless."
wadecalhoun:
“M’slow to learn, slow to motivate, always have been,” he shrugged carelessly as a zombie lunged at him, kicking them backwards and stabbing them in tandem succinctness. He had worked up to a certain bravado when it came to hunting monsters, but everyone had their limits, covered in an amalgam of blood and sweat, “Well, you know I love a good ass kicking,” he’d set up the joke as the words were heaved from his lungs, understanding full well that Robin would always take note to jab at when he was a mere scrawny kid who was motivated by pure scorn and rage. Now, well, not much had changed except he certainly was not as lost and scrawny anymore. “But, if I did want this show to reach Act Three and move to the closin’ curtain call, you got any ideas how we’d get there, sweetheart?”
...
“Now that is a lie if I have heard one,” there is a thrill of amusement on her voice as she manifests her blade once more and decapitates a nearby ghoul with a swoop. There is much work to be done, mortal and immortals to safeguard from the walking dead, and she cannot do it alone. A warder would come in handy at this time, but all she has available is her human friend. Who happens to know how to fight supernatural due to his own quest to get revenge on a demon. Understandable, perhaps, but she worries this might led him down a path she might not be able to forgive him for taking. “If I remember correctly, you were rather quick to learn what I told you once you admitted to yourself that I was rather too kind and pretty to be a demon.”
The teasing is slow and steady even as she keeps her barrage of attacks steady, ensuring a modicum of protection for the two of them. She is older and better trained, likely to be able to continue fighting for the rest of the night with the magic to bolster her.
“Now that I can believe, but you do have a breathtaking resilience, darling. No matter how many times your pretty ass is knocked down, you always seem to come back up,” her compliment flows smoothly as she raises a palm and utters a few choice words in the old tongue, sending wall of flames around them to incinerate the nearest Terrors. “Not as such, I am afraid. Magic might be able to stop the spell’s area of influence from expanding, but it will require a great deal of power. Otherwise? The spell focus must be broken, but I do not know how to reach it.”
