What Has Happened In Gaza Since The Truce Ended A Mere 16 Hours Ago — Do Keep In Mind That Some Of

What has happened in Gaza since the truce ended a mere 16 hours ago — do keep in mind that some of these source links include videos of what is described.

• Israel’s military said it had 'resumed combat' in Gaza where air strikes were reported as the seven-day truce came to an end on Friday morning local time. [ source ]

• The Israeli warplanes started bombing Gaza as soon as the temporary ceasefire expired. [ source ]

• A little Palestinian girl got injured by an Israeli bombardment in the northern part of Gaza City. [ source ]

• Residents try to evacuate the bodies from the rubble of a destroyed home by Israeli air strikes that began bombing Gaza Strip by the end of the temporary ceasefire. [ source ]

• An ambulance evacuated children who were injured by an air strike that targeted a home in Khan Younis, southern Gaza. [ source ]

• More than 30 Palestinians were killed by Israeli air strikes since the end of the temporary ceasefire this morning. [ source ]

• Israeli warplanes bomb a home west of Khan Younis. [ source ]

• A faulty Israeli bomb was dropped by the Israeli warplanes on a home in Yebna refugee camp in Rafah city. [ source ]

• An Israeli bombardment targeted an UNRWA school in Jabalia refugee camp, north of Gaza. [ source ]

• Heavy Israeli air strikes in Khan Younis city, southern Gaza. [ source ]

• Palestinians rescue a girl from the rubble of her home that was bombed by Israeli warplanes. [ source ]

• Civil defense crews rescue a number of residents and evacuate bodies of martyrs from the rubble of a home in Shejaeya neighborhood, east of Gaza. [ source ]

• Over 100 Palestinians were killed since the end of the temporary ceasefire in Gaza, today. [ source ]

• Medics are dealing with 'large numbers' of wounded Palestinians seeking treatment in overcrowded hospitals following the resumption of Israeli air strikes on Gaza, says Gaza's health ministry. [ source ]

• A little child tries to calm down his baby brother after they were injured by an air strike in Gaza. [ source ]

• A series of heavy Israeli air strikes bombed several sites in southern Gaza Strip. [ source ]

• Palestinian children bid farewell to their father who was killed by Israeli bombardment in Khan Younis. [ source ]

• A fire broke out following the bombing of Jabalia refugee camp with white phosphorus. [ source ]

• Israel preventing aid trucks from entering Gaza via Rafah border crossing, PRCS says [ source ]

• A child was injured by the Israeli occupation bombing of Abu Nada family home in Al-Jeneina neighborhood, east of Rafah. [ source ]

• The ministry of health says in a statement that 178 Palestinians have been killed and 589 injured since morning. [ source ]

• The Gaza Strip has been under “relentless Israeli bombardment”. [ source ]

• The Palestinian Red Crescent Society says Israeli forces have informed 'all organisations and entities' operating at the Rafah crossing that the entry of aid trucks to Gaza is 'prohibited, starting from today' and until further notice. [ source ]

• The Israeli warplanes carried out a series of heavy air strikes on Gaza city. [ source ]

This list is not exhaustive. There are bodies under the rubble, missing from the death count, there are stories of atrocities gone unreported. Let that sink in, that this is not even the full extent of what has occurred since the truce agreement expired. The children of Gaza have gone back to living in fear, constantly hearing the sounds of warplanes over their heads. The people of Gaza have gone back to expecting to die.

It is far from time to lose steam. This is not over just because the bombing stopped for a week. The genocide continues and has been ramped up. Do not stop talking about Palestine. Do not stop bearing witness to what is happening. Do not stop demanding that it ends.

there is something horrifically grim to it, but illustrations for gaza and palestinians tend to catch more mass attention that actual photos of people. this made me feel incredibly helpless for a long while, seeing both how people would rather look at a neat drawing of red black green and white than look a human in the eyes, and how online platforms would rather push a viral drawing while suppressing those begging for help at the same time.

a way to cope with this feeling has been taking advantage of it to directly guide people to helping palestinians.

if art gets better traction, then there’s an incredible amount of good that can be done by creating art that immediately links to fundraisers. creating art of the many images of those who are asking for help.

within hours of posting my drawing, there has been jumps in the thousands for bashar from gaza’s fundraiser. it’s a small effort in the grand scheme of things. it’s not a fix it. but it’s something good. please take care of each other and do what you can. i think this could help a lot of people if a lot of people did it.

here is bashar. i’ve drawn him, spoken to him, and known him now for a few months. any shares help, any art helps. draw who you see, draw what you see. thanks all

on december 9th, there is a wisconsin all out for palestine rally in madison. i really encourage anyone who is in this state and has the means to travel to madison to show up for this especially as more people are showing "fatigue" for the palestinian cause and social media posts dwindle.

if you're in milwaukee, the local chapter of JVP is arranging transportation help if you dont have a car and the badger bus is also a relatively inexpensive and convenient option, it runs multiple times per day and will take you about 30 mins walking or a quick uber trip to the capital if you select the 'campus and lake' stop.

p.s. i know madison in general is pretty milquetoast + white liberal-y, but the activism and rallies for palestine specifically lately have been extremely well organized, meaningful, actually leftist and abolitionist, calling for more than a ceasefire, and led by/centered palestinian-americans & other SWANA organizers.

The Israeli occupation has killed more than 154 Palestinians since the ceasefire began, violating all agreements and commitments. The bodies of the martyrs pile up, homes are destroyed over their inhabitants, and massacres continue relentlessly. Yet, the media remains silent, as if our lives are unworthy of being told, as if our blood is nothing more than numbers lost in the flood of news

But what if a single Israeli were killed? Headlines would ignite, condemnations would pour in, and the world would mourn the loss. Meanwhile, we are slaughtered daily, entire families are erased, our homes are mercilessly bombed, and the skies rain fire upon our children and mothers

We ask for nothing but the right to live, yet it is stolen from us with brutal force. Under this suffocating siege, soaring prices, and the blockade of crossings, we are in desperate need of your support

Stand with us in this time of hardship. Every contribution can save a life, and every voice can help the world hear our suffering. Do not leave us alone in the face of this injustice

Donate here, your donation, whatever it is, makes a difference

A screenshot of the heading of an article on Medium.com, written by user "The Grief Witch". The title of the article is "What is the Ethical Way to Climb Out of Hell?". The article is accompanied by a worms-eye-view photo of several people waving Palestinian flags.

I just wanted to share this article about Palestine's right to revolt and why it is important that we support it. It also has sources embedded in the text that debunk misinformation about them and Hamas. I implore everyone to read it and spread this information around.

Israel’s Channel 14 reporter, Tamir Morag, says ICC arrest warrants for Netanyahu, Gallant and Helavi could be issued as early as this coming week.

An earthquake, if true.

Apparently if a warrant is issued, it will be for crimes against humanity

‼️Please Read. After a discussion with my Cousin we decided to start up a pilot Soup kitchen in Al Hitana Omdurman serving lentil stew fortified with peanut butter to double the available calories in the stew as well as bread.

The kitchen has been running for 3 days now and has served on average 80 people a day, representing 80 households so potentially we’ve been helping 400 people a day.

Over 90% of those who have shown up to the kitchen over the past 3 days have been women and Children and for some it will be the only meal they get that day.

From tomorrow we’d like to scale up to making two 65 litre pots of stew a day which is 160 servings (households).

Currently we’ve purchased enough supplies to run the kitchen at full capacity for two weeks but we’d like to make this a permanent thing and that needs external support.

If you would like to support this project and help this kitchen to continue working, then please donate to this gofundme which will be providing the funding support

Part two of the art dump

This time we're delving into some OC art as well. The big dragon lady is called Lizzie, she belongs to my friend who doesn't have any socials but if you have any messages for her I'll ferry them through :) . The fellow to the right is an enderman OC I have called Speaker.

A digital doodle of a large bipedal dragon with her arms crossed. She is craning her long neck down and grimacing at a fast food worker who is about 1/3 of her size. She is quoting the meme "He asked for no pickles". To the right is a deer-like humanoid tentatively reaching out, saying "Lizzie, it's okay" but the -y is cut off.

A series of doodles depicting a wingless anthro dragon. In the first, she is sitting in a pose similar to the "draw me like one of your French girls" meme. The second depicts her sitting down with her legs curled up, head resting on her knees. The one below features a more traditional quadrupedal dragon silhouette with wings, it is a side angle. Along the top are doodles labelled "Simple" and "Simpler!" with a minimalistic rendition of the same dragon.
Simplified versions of Lizzie and Speaker. They are drawn at a 3/4 angle, but the eyes are stylized to both be visible at once.
Drawing of a wingless dragon (Lizzie) cradling an egg. She is looking in a defensive way off to the side of the canvas.
A gijinka of Lizzie. She has spiky hair with dyed tips that's combed away from the face. There is a dual nose piercing on her nostrils. She wears a shirt with a simple dragon face on it. The dragon looks similar to her original form.
Gijinkas of Lizzie and Speaker. Lizzie is wearing a top with a sweetheart neckline and a short necklace. Her arms are crossed. Speaker is wearing a simple tunic. He is looking at her with a smile. There are two depictions of zoomed in aspects: a close up of Lizzie's nose piercings, and Speaker's eyeliner.
A parody of the "how hungry" horse meme with Polaroid and UI from the Unethical Spite Archive by mama boy

@anactualdump my friend @stale-cornflakes suggested I tag you, enjoy the meme. They got me to read through a bit of bsq (which I've learned is the abbreviation for before status quo) and at some point I got this idea. The tree is a censor for the horse btw, for our (sadly not Pol's) safety :)

More art under the cut:

A parody of the "why dis ___ look so mad" meme with Vittorino, Juliek, and Accardi from the game 8:11. The text is altered to feature a cross and prayer emote instead of the ninja one.

I apologize for the blurry photo here :(

A pen drawing of Beetle and Ryker from the game 8:11. Ryker is holding goûter (a traditional French snack), this one consists of bread with a piece of chocolate in the middle. They eat with a blissful expression, saying "mmm... finally some good food." There are sparkles around them. Beetle is side-eyeing them.
A very simplified Beetle. He is depicted with round puppy eyes.
Beetle looking away from Ryker, they now have a more neutral expression. They are asking "did you-" but are cut off by Beetle saying "no."
