What did I do in my past life to deserve not having an enemy to fight with until we keep getting put together for things and see that while both of us have our flaws we actually are humans with emotions and suddenly we like spending time with each other but neither of us would admit to that and when we fight itâs explosive but we always make up and when one of us gets hurt the other goes still and quietly asks âwho did this to you?â and then beats the shit out of that person and donât even get me started on the staring-

All Iâm saying is that weâre not using jegulusâ unique relationship with canon to its fullest potential.

Weâre already so far away from canon, why donât we just cut off ties with it every once in a while?
Okay, but do you all also realize how regulus issues in Carpe Noctem are all trauma responses? Because him trying to please everyone and constantly trying to keep the peace despite how it affects him badly, he doesnât think his opinion matter, and tries to avoid all confrontations as long as possible. His characterization in that fic is honestly all so heart breaking, itâs like he doesnât even think he matters as a person.

The only reason I believe Jegulus couldnât be canon is because James would be buried in a shallow grave after the breakup.
Regulus is that crazy bitch that would rather kill a man than have anyone find out he got dumped. Thereâs no moving on if thereâs no James.
You might think Iâm exaggerating but if you think about how easy it would be for Regulus to get away with it youâll see Iâm right.

Itâs not necessarily fan behavior because it could have been that when he was younger but then slowly turned into research over the years, keeping track of him but no longer idolizing him.
We donât know what his mind set was at the end of his life and even if it was definite in canon, does it really matter?
I mean, itâs the same thing with jegulus, just because it isnât canon doesnât mean it couldnât have happened.
But Iâm tired of having this argument about whatâs realistic according to canon because I just donât care. Itâs literally a kids book, let it be subjective and let it rest.

Yes, he betrayed Voldemort because of Kreacher, not James. And his betrayal doesn't mean he never had Voldemort clippings on his bedroom walls, you know, literal fanboy behaviour. Jegulus is a stupid ship that strays far too much from canon for my tastes, but people can enjoy it if they want and if their version of Regulus is the exact opposite of his canon version.

Itâs not my favorite truth, but it is one and I respect that.
Contrary to popular belief, Remadora and Wolfstar can coexist. I for one love the bittersweet, realistic concept of Sirius being Remus' first love that he eventually grew out of as things changed, and I always saw it that way. I think we have a lack of fics exploring love in that (very human and very bisexual) way.
Pt. 3 to Rockstar Regulus head canon
When they were younger, Sirius and Regulus took singing lessons.
Sirius was always better. He had this natural talent that Regulus could never keep up with.
How was he supposed to know what note comes after another just by ear? It didnât matter how many times Regulus would repeat after Sirius, he just couldnât get the notes.
It wasnât just the music but their voices themselves. Siriusâ voice was like an angel. It was like an audial caress.
It had a fine, polished texture. Sirius could just throw out notes and they would be perfect. He would walk out of the room at the end like he didnât just make Regulus feel like dirt.
He didnât understand. He could play the violin proficiently. All the notes made sense on the piano. But his voice was an instrument he could never conquer.
By the time Sirius left for Hogwarts, Regulus was ready to give up singing, but of course he still had to attend lessons.
Sirius always liked his voice. When he came home from school that first summer he told Regulus that his voice was perfect for rock.
Regulus didnât understand at first. How was saying his voice sounded like rocks a compliment?
Thatâs when Sirius showed him a the records he borrowed from his friend named Remus (his name was Regulus, who was he to judge?). Sirius locked them up in his room, put up silencing charms, and made the record float in the air and start spinning, somehow producing music. Regulus was shocked how well Sirius took to magic. It was nothing to him.
The voices were⊠strange. They didnât sound beautiful like Siriusâ, but Regulus found him wanting to hear every word.
When theyâd gone through each record, Regulus was still confused. He didnât sound anything like those voices.
Sirius looked at him like heâd just asked him what quidditch was. He took Regulus by the shoulder, looked him straight in the eyes and said, âRegulus, none of the voices sound like each other! Theyâre not supposed to sound like chorusâ where every voice is a part of the whole. They donât blend in; the way your voice doesnât. Youâre voice is perfect because it isnât perfect. Itâs unique!â
Regulus sang more and more as his relationship with his brother slowly dwindled. Singing was an experience him and Sirius shared. If he sang, Sirius would surely be listening.
He trained his ear and spent hours slaving over a piano, just matching pitch. He wrote, and he composed, and he sang to distract himself from the life he was leading. To forget that Sirius wasnât there anymore. Sirius didnât want him.
His voice never changed its sound. It got deeper, but that only seemed to boost the effect.
He would be known by millions for his rough music with sharp lyrics coming from a coarse, grimy voice. People could never get his sound out of their head, they always wanted to hear every word coming out of his mouth.
When Sirius first heard Regulusâ voice on the radio, he was mesmerized. He hadnât heard him sing in years. He was so proud of what his brother had accomplished.
Regulus wouldâve given up on everything if he didnât have his writing, but he wouldâve given up on his passion if he didnât have his brother.

Two nights ago, I had to temporarily leave my home, because my father was throwing plates and mugs, and tried to slap my face
Which, the slap is really fucked up when you think, I have an extremely weak jaw (I had my entire jaw removed in a 10 hour surgery. And my current jaw was hand made by my surgeons using my left fibula) and my father KNOWS this.
I'm currently staying at my partners mom's house for a few days, while things settle down!!
I'm getting my next disability cheque in 3 days, but untill then I have nothing, money wise. I have a Dr's appointment tomorrow, in Mississauga and it'll be about $50 for the uber there and back, and iv estimated that for FOOD for the next 3 days that'll cost me $50 as well!!

In almost every fic I read, Sirius and the marauders deny Regulus ever being abused (usually in fics where Reg is emotionally abused and/or manipulated)
But I want one where Reg denies they ever did anything wrong and Sirius is always trying to convince him other wise.
Sirius tries to be gentle with him but Reg never listens. One day during an argument in the halls, Reg tells Sirius that if he just stopped fighting, their parents wouldnât punish him.
Sirius is just so tired of hearing it that he says, « oh really? Then why do you flinch when someone moves too fast? Why do you look for an exit when you enter a room? Why do you bite your nails so often? Why can you tell whoâs walking just by the sound of their footsteps? Why do you shut down minutes at a time? Just because your scars arenât on the outside doesnât mean theyâre not there. You are just as fucked up as I am. So donât stand there and tell me that being perfect would change anything because you are living proof that it wouldnât. »
Regulus felt so exposed. He didnât think anybody could see it. But with Siriusâ and his own friends looking anywhere but at the two, he understood that they all knew about both of their abuse. Itâs the first time Regulus says to his brother, « I hate you. »
He walks away from the crowded hall and cries in a hidden room in the dungeons for hours. Apparently, he hadnât fooled anybody with his act. His friends just didnât care.
Sirius felt terrible for saying it how he did. In front if a crowd of people, in the form of an insult, and insinuating that his own scars were visible. He wanted Regulus to admit it to himself before he heard anyone else say it out loud. He took a thousand steps back in helping his brother and proper communication was nowhere in sight.
Sirius: my brother and I get along really well
James: you- you just shoved him into the wall and called him stupid?
Sirius: . . . you clearly donât understand sibling relationships
Thatâs actually super interesting because I always see them never getting together. Like they always have a sad ending in ffs and itâs makes it hard to find fics bc i canât do sad endingsđ€Ș
Also, I always thought that James would already think blood supremacyâs bad but he would learn differently with Reg. He would realize that the âbad sideâ are people just like him outside of their beliefs. Reg would humanize the death eaters for him. It would make the war more real for the both of them to know who theyâre losing
But I LOVE seeing other ideas about the relationship because they shouldnât all be the same!!!!!
Okay so Jegulus,
I don't ship it.
But not because of the ship.
I don't ship it because of how a lot of other people ship it. Like it can't work out, but that's like the point of it. It was never meant to last forever. It can't work because. Reggie's already too deep into the dark arts, but having dated each other opens each of their eyes to a reality.
Regulus: Dating James plants a seed, that will one day grow into his betrayal of Voldemort. He cannot get there yet, but seeing the 'other side' is an important step.
James: Dating regulus open James' eyes to how bad blood supremacists actually are. This not only leads to him believing that the inevitable result is war, whereas he had previously hoped for a peaceful resolution, but it also gives him an insight into Sirius' home life, which eventually leads to him moving in with the Potters.
The reason this ship can never work out is that we know Regulus becomes a death eater and James Potter would not be okay with that. I think James would have thought he could change Regulus, but he couldn't stop him from getting the mark in the end.
When I read many Jegulus fics they always end up making it end with them together, and in a happy relationship, when in reality their relationship would have been unhealthy and had to end badly.
