last post of 2023!!
this year i hit rock bottom in many aspects of my life and grew less happy and more confused and drained as time went by. however, i started something which means a lot to me and would like to thank everyone who has followed along so far. i have quite ambitious plans for this book and i'm more than happy to have you as part of the journey. a sincere thank you for all the love and support you have shown this project, i truly appreciate it.
i wish you all a better new year, stay safe.
for those who've read all quiet, do you think the part where they meet the french women is important to the story and therefore necessary to include in an adaptation?
hi everyone i haven't posted a wip in a while
FELLAS SAY AYE IF YOU REMEMBER THAT POOR PAINTING I ABANDONED
this piece got me really angry and i dont know if im posting on instagram because i might hate it by tomorrow but who knows so have it now and i hope i dont delete it later
I SPENT FOUR HOURS ON THE LEFT EYE hahaha i love art
as a horror fan, i think perhaps the most exciting thing i have to work on regarding the comic is definitely the horror-esc aspects of it - the research is certainly disgusting, but i find the subject of depicting death and decay in art oddly fascinating, having everything to do with taking all the images from the text and making them real(the first scene from the visitation to kemmerich where paul imagines his decaying corpse in the grave with his nails and hair still growing lives in my head rent free so the only way to get rid of it is to make y'all suffer too sorry guys)
i'm sorry i haven't made or posted any art for at least the past two weeks, you get five big booms
Listen ik the 2022 movie isnt great as an adaptation but fuck if the actors didn't have such a great chemistry you mourn them All the same. Also every time i re-read the book All i see are the Paul and Kat from the film and idk how to feel about that. Ramble over.
BRO THIS
to me, one of the strongest aspects of this movie was the actors, i think they did an amazing job, especially felix kammerer, with this being his first film, and worked quite nicely together
i have to say myself that the two mains with their portrayal of kat and paul looked so eerily similar to what i had in my head as i was reading the book that i got creeped out a bit when i saw the movie lmao
