giving myself a little pat on the back because you can tell my art got more dynamic this past year unlike what i had expected
like you're telling me i don't suck at improv as much anymore and don't need to copy references 1:1 all the time?? aww thanks
Listen ik the 2022 movie isnt great as an adaptation but fuck if the actors didn't have such a great chemistry you mourn them All the same. Also every time i re-read the book All i see are the Paul and Kat from the film and idk how to feel about that. Ramble over.
BRO THIS
to me, one of the strongest aspects of this movie was the actors, i think they did an amazing job, especially felix kammerer, with this being his first film, and worked quite nicely together
i have to say myself that the two mains with their portrayal of kat and paul looked so eerily similar to what i had in my head as i was reading the book that i got creeped out a bit when i saw the movie lmao
took some old concept art for my cover and made more concept art
i do quite like the premise because the scene it's referencing is kind of the most important one but i'd still play around with fonts more (i'd go for freehand) + make a more detailed version of this in the future
flush of krauts

Various studies. I haven’t had much motivation to draw as of late. I’ve been reading instead. So these are really just to keep me from getting rusty.

date idea i scream at my laptop playing this game and tell you useless facts about german military equipment and you watch
one test page still requires a minimum of a two hour research on great war german pistols and how you load them *sigh*
Historical funfact! The person who Made best prosthetics for veterans was a woman, and the guy who did first restorative plastic surgery on their faces also did gender affirming surgery for trans people
thank you for mentioning this topic, anon!! anna coleman ladd's work is an extremely interesting research ground i got to explore a while back, however i'll have to dig down the surgery rabbit hole, as this was not known to me
sidetopic is that i did a painting with the face casts last year which is actually the reason i'm going to my first physiotherapy appointment for my chronic wrist pain tomorrow lmao
