Items - Shell, Pen, Paper, Snow
Write intention on the paper three times. I used the following version:
"Let the rains come, Let the fires be quenched, Let the land heal and fill with life."
Fold the paper up and place it in the shell. Pack it over with snow (substitute moon water or rain water, whatever you have available). Let the snow melt and discard in the morning before Dawn.

Hi guys! I’m posting this because I feel that there are people who could benefit from this. While there are good techniques out there, I wanted to post my own. I also want to mention - experiment, try others’ methods, try new things - no one person is the same, and everyone works differently.
A few things about the technique:
-You can add more layers than the ones that I’ve included; these are just some that cover the basics that you should have.
-For each additional layer, don’t forget to connect them to your energy battery. Accordingly, the more layers you have, the more energy is going to be required to power them.
When making your own layers, make sure to do the following:
-State what you are shielding yourself from
-Visualize the shield being formed around you (in this version it is a bubble, but it can look different)
-Visualize the shield working - i.e. shielding yourself from whatever it is you are protecting yourself from
The last point is really important. It is necessary to program the shield to function properly, as well as showing it how to defend.
-For example, there is a difference between a shield reflecting energies away, and just straight up absorbing them. But if you don’t visualize your shield working, it won’t do either of those things.
Basic Shielding Technique
Step 1: Stretch and meditate.
Step 2: Find somewhere comfortable to sit, and sit up straight.
Step 3: Visualize yourself in your minds’ eye, looking at yourself from the front, as if you are watching yourself from the third person.
Step 4: Imagine that you are surrounded by energy, of all colors and types, at your disposal.
Step 5: Say in your mind, I am protected from negativity. As you say this, visualize a bubble of energy form around you. Visualize some negative words bumping off the outside of it, like running into a wall.
Step 6: Say in your mind, I am protected from negative, and toxic energies. As you say this, visualize another bubble of energy forming outside of the first. Visualize some negative energy coming towards you but ricocheting away.
Step 7: Say in your mind, I am protected from malicious entities and energies. As you say this, visualize another bubble forming around you. Visualize some being with malicious intent coming towards you, but then being completely blocked by the shield you’ve created.
Step 8: Visualize a small battery that is linked to these two layers by an energetic cord.
Step 9: Visualize a cord extending from you and connecting to this battery. Visualize sending energy into it, until it is full. Imagine the energetic cord disconnecting from the battery and returning back to you.
Step 10: Imagine “flipping the switch” on the battery. When you do, visualize these bubble layers “turning on,” and visualize it blocking some more negativity/energy for added measure.
Step 11: Repeat steps 8-10 daily, or as needed.
Step 12: End your session.
That’s it for now. I hope that this works for you guys!
Blessings!
This post is for my folks who currently use glasses, contacts, or other visual aid's!
This is a concept similar to taking on a witches name, however it has to do with your visual aids! They say that eye's are the windows to the soul, but what about people or entities or energies that are looking to disrupt our peace? Well this is a great ward to follow as a personal ward
I recently had this revelation when my glasses shattered in the sea after I slipped under the riptide and as I was grabbing my glasses under the water, a shell came and smashed them (I am ok, I am trained to handle that and am a strong swimmer). I ended up going to one of those minute labs to get new frames and lenses, but I realized something.
If eyes are a part of you that exposes a lot about your being, whether you believe in iridology, window theory, etc then why wouldn't you ward a possible weakness? Witches names are a name a witch takes on to act like a deflector, if someone hexes them using the wrong name then it doesn't touch down, so the idea of this spell is If someone attempts to harm you spiritually, you are now wearing 'different eye's' and can reflect the spell. All it takes is a bit of enchantment. We will be banking on the fact that glasses somewhat obstruct the eye (when you look at someone's eyes through glasses they can appear different, bigger, or smaller) but you can see them clearly.
This spell is best done on a new moon, high tide, or on a Wednesday! all of these have correspondences of protection, deflection, etc. ingredients: - Glasses/eye aid - Cleaning solution - Cleaning cloth (If being done with contacts or other eye aids, adapt this to be the aids, whatever you use to clean them with, and IF NEEDED a drying apparatus) The Steps: 1. Set up your space how you choose to do so, set your aid down in front of you. Meditate over or reflect on what the glasses mean to you 2. Envision or create a chant that reflects the eye-dea (haha) of people/spirits/energies with bad intentions not being able to effect you, because they cant see the right person to harm because of the visual aid 3. Take your finger and stamp a sigil of warding either on the lens, contact case, or safe spot on the aid 4. Clean it off to 'rub it into' the device 5. Finish the spell how you choose to finish, and transition out of the ritual space I hope you all enjoyed! More content coming soon!
I didnt dedicate a journal, but I would write "dear _" letters at the start of my encounters. Id like to do so again, I might take this idea up.
if you’re anything like me, the desire to meet and communicate with a new deity might be stunted by the idea of actually, ya know, communicating. whatever the reason (you don’t use divination, cant speak aloud, are afraid of being overheard, can’t meditate easily, etc.), initiating contact with deities can seem intimidating, and might even deter you from following the god or pantheon at all. but rest assured, there are easier and more discreet methods of talking, other than whipping out a dozen tarot decks and chanting pagan prayers
💫Why a Devotional Journal? What Is It?
devotional journals are journals dedicated to a specific deity or pantheon, where you can write messages, prayers, questions, or anything else you’d like to speak with Them about. i like to think of these journals like writing letters to a good friend- except your good friend is also a god!
☀️Beginning a Devotional Journal
depending on personal preference, this can be as intricate or as simple as you please. if you feel inclined to introduce yourself, explain what you’re doing or why you’re keeping a journal, or anything else, then feel free to! when i started mine i kept it as easy as writing “dear Apollo,” in a composition notebook, then explained my reasons and goals for keeping a journal specifically for Him. so honestly? go wild
⚡️What To Put in a Devotional Journal
prayers
Their name written in its orignal language
stories about your day
your relationship goals
tarot spreads for/to Them
song lyrics
poetry
hymns
Their family tree
things like the delphic maxims (hellenic) or 10 commandments (christian)
pressed flowers
printed pictures of what They look like to you
artwork
a list of things you associate with Them
gratitudes
what your altar to Them looks like (or what you wish it could look like)
messages you’ve received from Them
devotional acts
sigils/runes/etc
Their symbols
Their myths and lore
offering ideas
Their sacred animals, plants, cities, etc
famous works about Them
if you can think of anything else to put in a devotion journal, please feel free to add on! no matter how crazily beautiful or inconspicuously simple you make yours, the important thing to remember is your gods appreciate all efforts to strengthen your relationship with Them

Hello! I’ve recently seen a few good posts about the uses of blood magic in modern witchcraft and some also good posts about its uses in folklore, so I thought I might as well make a small compilation of sources!
Therefore, I’m not here to tell you how blood magic works! You already know and can find about the use of blood in rituals, spells, scrying and whatnot from all the posts that circulate on the subject. You also know that blood must be harvested with precautions if you don’t want to catch, or give someone a disease that could effectively kill them! Whee!
This is why I present to you a few sources about the use of blood in folklore and a commentary on these sources!
Here’s one like cuz it’s centered on a civilization I know well, the ancient greeks! I studied them in class and am familiar with most science men mentioned in the article. Truth be told, I don’t think it’s perfect. I don’t like the way it buries other ancient civilizations under the rug to focus on the greek while proclaiming most ancient civilizations were all fans of blood, but I appreciate researching work and the time the person put into quoting greek passages of ancient texts as proof of their arguments. It’s neat. Plus it goes on at length about the visions the greeks had of the role of blood in all types of life, which could be used in paralel with ancient religious texts about rituals and magics involving blood, if anyone has those!
I don’t know about the trustworthiness of this one, but I read it and it’s quick and understandable about the practices revolving around blood in the old days. I especially like the part about egyptian and german practices which are interesting. The author also took the time to quote names of ancient greek historians (as much as one could call Herodotus a historian in the strict meaning of the term) which I find nice! Added to the sources on medicinal cannibalsm quoted at the end, including this article which quotes its own sources, and this book, sadly too expensive for me at the moment (I saw the price and went *nope*).
This article on Britannia, the website, is about blood offerings in different cultures and could be paired with this one about the origines of sacrifice though religion and history, I think it can be fairly interesting to learn the bond between the action of sacrificing something coming from a being, be it life, flesh, bones or blood, and the desire of a result linked to the believed importance of the said parts. I’ll read them and maybe update the description as I go!
I also found a few other books too, including this book about Folk Hematology in the Appalachian South by Anthony Cavender in the Journal of Folklore Research (JSTOR), Mummies, cannibals and vampires by Richard Sugg about the history of corpse medicine through the ages, and The Spirit of Civilization: Blood Sacrifice and Monetary Debt on JSTOR too by William Pietz.
Honestly, I’d like to read them all to see if they’re good or full off bullshit like some books can be, but I advice to anyone who might find all these resources helpful to compare them with each other and make their own opinion. I’m not your dad, of course, but I’ve seen enough people believing everything they were told in my short life to wish everyone could like researching stuff as much as I do!
Therefore, I leave you with this absolutely unproductive post, hope it’ll be at least useful to someone, and on that note, for anyone interested in french and down for a good laugh, this video is about a practice of blood offering by dick-piercing. Yeah. You read that right. Enjoy.
once a year I renew the protection warding to my front door using vinegar that's had citrus soaking in it for a year at least, if anything it makes it so people don't linger at my door and also works great for cleaning dirt and grime 😅
