The songstress and producer, who has an Emmy, Grammy and Oscar, became the 17th member of the esteemed EGOT titleholders after âA Strange Loopâ won Best New Musical.
Hudson also made history as the third Black EGOT winner to take the crown, and the fifth woman to receive the distinction.
â Hollywood legend Sir Sidney Poitier has died aged 94, Oscar-winning Hollywood star who was known as a true trail blazer in Hollywood with more than 50 films under his belt.â
âIf Iâm remembered for having done a few good things, and if my presence here has sparked some good energies, thatâs plenty.â Â

With the drop of the new Fantastic Beasts trailer, let's take a moment to remember that JKR:
1. is unequivocally a TERF + openly supports and allies herself with other TERFs
2. uses her massive wealth and platform to fight against trans rights, such that an anti-trans republican senator has cited her controversial essay to block voting on the Equality Act , and
3. has retained so much control over the HP franchise that giving her money (through movie tickets, book sales, official merch, etc) actively enables and contributes to the platform she uses to target vulnerable people

Oh my God! đ You dropped this queen đ
just to be clear, the fact that music was nominated for a golden globe is absolutely disgusting. every single (adult) involved in that gross, ableist movie should be sickened by themselves.
for those of you who don't know, music (2021) is a movie being directed by sia about a nonverable autistic girl. not only does it not include any actually autistic people in the movie itself but it also only took advice from autism speaks which is looked at as a hate group by the majority of the autistic community. leaked scenes have also shown the movie glorifying prone restraints which are incredibly dangerous and have resulted in major injuries and even death to disabled people as recently as last year.
autistic people just like me have been incredibly outspoken about how harmful this movie is but the allistic have been mostly silent. we are already seeing reviews calling this movie 'inspiring' and important' and it's absolutely horrific! we need your help calling this out. please stand with us and call out this disgusting display of disrespect to autistic folks.
đ - your local actually autistic pal
p.s. please, please reblog if you aren't autistic.
Go watch Pixarâs Soul if you have Disney+.
Go watch Soul because it actually has black people on screen for most of the movie.
Go watch Soul because weâre not caricatures or flat, one-note black stereotypes.
Go watch Soul because it actually has an important message on oneâs passion and purpose in life that I refuse to spoil here.
Go watch Soul because the trailers DONâT actually give away the plot and the movieâs genuinely better the trailers.
Go watch Soul because you bet your ass corporateâs gonna blame low numbers on the film having vast majority black characters and try to stop this kinda movie from ever happening again.
Go watch Soul because judging the entirety of a movie before it even airs based on the freakinâ trailer (which is hardly ever actually put together by the creators of the film itself and is more tied to the marketing department) instead of the actual film itself is an incredibly ignorant thing to do.
Go watch Soul and form your own opinion instead of jumping on a woke bandwagon.
Signed,
A black person that actually watched this movie
In five hours, Brandon Bernard will be executed. He has worked his whole adult life to atone for what he did and rehabilitate others and help stop young people from straying for the right path. Please, if youâre from America, consider calling!
Your daily reminder that Black Lives Still Fucking Matter. Casey Christian Goodson Jr. was mudered by police on December 4th and no one is talking about it. He was shot three times in the back entering his own home. The police are not going to get any better under Joe Biden, in fact, they will continue to get worse because there will be less media scrutiny. There is little to no media coverage of this story because of that very reason. We have to keep these stories in the public eye and continue to fight to defund the police just as hard in 2021.
Hereâs a link to the full story from one of the few media sources reporting it.
Required watching.

Where are those woke white people at!?
The Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020) dir. Aaron Sorkin
Hey itâs ace week and youâre local ace has something to say! Iâve been out as ace for 3 years now and itâs still a big part of my identity that Iâm proud of so hereâs a lil something for those who need it!
Anyway, good morning to Brie Larson and Tessa Thompson and Zendaya and all the other women in the MCU who were relentlessly harrassed for years since the moment their casting was announced, all while not a single white male cast stood up within HOURS to defend them. Good morning to yall only.
Now for the rest of you crusty crabs....
END SARS
END POLICE BRUTALITY IN NIGERIA
For my LGBT followers:
To all the people coming out to someone today: I wish you the best of luck. I hope the people youâre coming out to accept you wholeheartedly and love you with all their heart
To all the closeted people: Thatâs okay. There is nothing wrong with being in the closet, it doesnât mean you canât still be proud of your identity. You should come out at your own time, on your own terms when you feel safe to do so :) You donât owe anything to anyone.
For my non-LGBT followers:
Remember to never, ever out someone against their will, even if you think youâre doing them a favour. I can assure you, that you are 100% absolutely not. Like I said before coming out should happen at their own time, on their own terms when they feel safe to do so and it is NOT up to you to take that away from them.
âThey look like Ainu people,â my grandma had commented as I showed her Princess Mononoke. I had never heard of the Ainu people before. I asked her who the Ainu are, and she said, âtheyâre like Japanese Indians,â meaning Native Americans. âMountain people.âÂ
After we finished the movie I immediately went to Google to look up the Ainu. My grandma was right, on some level. The pictures I saw of their garments, their houses, their salmon culture, their faces⊠it all reminded me so much of the tribal culture I grew up around in Seattle and the Pacific Northwest.Â
I told my mom what my grandma had said about the Ainu, and my mom said, âoh yeah. Grandma is Ainu.â Whaaaaaaaat? Apparently at one point my grandma had gone back to Hokkaido to visit family, and she brought back all of these unusual souvenirs. Wood carved bears and wood carved bearded people, a mirror with a wood carved womanâs face, and other little things that had always been a part of our household. The little knickknacks that are never questioned, but are some how just kind of always there. I didnât know that they had come from Japan, and I certainly didnât know they were Ainu souvenirs.Â
Of course, my mom didnât have the internet at her disposal in the 70s, and at the time misunderstood what it meant to be Ainu. She assumed that Ainu was a general term for people from Hokkaido, as opposed to a specific ethnic group. My grandma denied being Ainu, having grown up Wajin, but my grandpa seemed to suspect otherwise. âSayuri, I donât know why you deny your heratige. Of course youâre Ainu, look at your big mountain feet!â my grandpa would tease.
The more I read about the Ainu and their history, and the more I looked into my own family history, the more questions that had always nagged at my family seemed to be answered. The question of why we were always so different.
This whole journey started with a movie. Prince Ashitaka is Emishi, and thereâs a lot of complicated history about the relation between Ainu and Emishi, but the point is would I have ever learned learned anything about my family background if this culture had never shown up on screen?
People who see themselves and their culture represented all the time take for granted what that can mean. For some people, itâs literally life changing.
