I love being alone in my room, I love not having to be a person
Authors note: Sorry this is short. This is just something I came up with and wanted to post. Enjoy! And if there are some typos, it’s because I wrote the whole thing on my IPhone.

“Little sis, guess what I convinced mom and dad to let you do?” Nino asked his adopted sister as he walked into her room. “Oh let me guess, finally go to school?” (Y/N) responded sarcastically, expecting Nino to have failed once again. “You got it!” (Y/N), who was laying starfished on her bed, bolted up, “REALLY?!” “Totally!” Within 5 seconds Nino was being glomped by a very exited (H/C). Mr and Mrs Lahiffe adopted the (nationality) child after Nino wanted a sibling, but sadly complications during Mrs Lahiffe’s first pregnancy denied another one, so adoption was the only option. Nino was 10, and (Y/N) was 9. The two got close quickly, resulting in Nino being very protective of (Y/N), and that meant few people outside of the family knew about her. Mr and Mrs Lahiffe also homeschooled (Y/N), who at first was very antisocial apart from the family, but that changed quickly, though the homeschooling did not. However now (Y/N) would be in Collège Françoise Dupont with her brother.
(Y/N) walked to school next to Nino a week later, dressed in a simple knee length skater skirt and a white tank top with a jean jacket over it all and converse. “Are you sure your friends will like me?” (Y/N) asked, concern lacing her voice. Nino threw an arm over her shoulders, a supporting smile on his face, “It’ll be fine. You’re my little sis!” “If you say so, big bro.” Adrien, Alya, and Marinette were talking about an upcoming school project (Alya of course had a death grip on Mari’s arm) when Alya spotted Nino talking animatedly with a new girl. “Wait- who’s that?” Adrien and Marinette looked over, both confused. “I have no clue, never seen her,” Marinette noted with a tilt of her head, though Adrien studied the girl a bit more, staying silent. Though suddenly the girl looked over to the trio and asked Nino something, pointing them out, and when Nino looked over he quickly grabbed the girl by her hand and dragged her over. “Dude, dudettes, I am here to present,” Nino started, leaning on (Y/N)’s head, “My little sister, (Y/N)!” Giving an amused look (Y/N) shoved Nino’s arm off then turned to the other three with a bright smile. “Nice to meet you, Nino speaks of you three a lot!” Alya’s face burst into a smile holding her hand out, “Alya, runner of the Ladyblog!” (Y/N) shook it, then after letting go Marinette gave a shy wave, “I’m Marinette, the local klutz.” (Y/N) gave a smile then turned to Adrien, locking eyes with him. Time seemed to slow down for both of them for a second, then went on overdrive. “You must be Adrien!” (Y/N) smiled, brushing some hair away from her face, cheeks being dusted with a light pink. Adrien gave a kind smile back placing his hands into his pockets, “Yep, nice to meet you!” Nino didn’t seem to notice (Y/N)’s shy behavior. “Sis, I should show you your classes. I can’t have you late on your first day!” (Y/N) giggled a bit, “Yeah, mom would kill us!” Nino started walking, looking back and waving to his friends. (Y/N) waved as well, but it was a shy one.
A few weeks later and (Y/N) had become comfortable in school. But she had fallen for Adrien. Although she took a different approach than Marinette. Instead of stuttering and avoiding Adrien, she stuck close to her brother, who was close to Adrien. Adrien liked the change brought with (Y/N). Instead of her clinging to him or acting awkward, she acted as if Adrien was a normal person. Even his feelings for Ladybug diminished after hanging out with (Y/N). Nino watched as his best friend and his little sister fell in love. He brought this up one day before class. “You can just ask her out you know.” Adrien was taken aback, “What do you mean?” “(Y/N). Ya know, my little sister. She likes you back, dude.” Adrien brightened up, “Really? And… You don’t mind me asking her out?” Nino smiled, “Nah. Unless you hurt her. Being my best friend won’t protect you then. But I trust you.” Adrien seemed like his mother came back again at this. But soon he started to panic a bit, “How should I do it? Should I give her flowers, a sweet compliment, or-” “Dude! Chill. With (Y/N) it doesn’t matter. As long as she sees you truly care, she’s gunna say yes.” Nino stated, leading Adrien to scratch the back of his head shyly, a sheepish smile on his face.
“Adrien? Are you in here?” (Y/N) asked, peeking her head into the library door. She stepped in slowly, looking around the silent room. Walking around a bit, she was suddenly taken by surprise as a pair of hands covered her eyes, “Guess who?” (Y/N) burst out laughing, prying Adrien’s hands from her eyes as she spun around to see him, “Hi, Adrien! Why did you want to see me?” Adrien grinned, “Well. Since my dad is throwing a party for the major people in the company, I thought I should bring a beautiful, kind, adorable, and confident date to the event.” (Y/N) frowned slightly, “Let me guess… You want to ask me how to ask Marinette to the party.” Adrien was shocked, “No! I was meaning that I want you to come with me. I even already have a fitted dress and heels.” “So that’s why Nino needed my shoe size and why Marinette was so persistent in getting my measurements.” (Y/N) realized, and Adrien laughed, “Yep. The whole outfit is at your house, along with Alya to help you get ready. I will pick you up at 7:30, all you have to do is be yourself.” A concern suddenly coated (Y/N)’s face, “But what about Nino? How does he feel…?” Adrien went silent for a few seconds before replying in a mumble, “He was the one who told me to ask you out…” (Y/N)’s mouth gaped, before she groaned, “It’s the sisters job to play matchmaker for the brother! Not the other way around!”
“Nino, I want to say thanks. For playing matchmaker all those years ago.” (Y/N) sat down, her dress folding elegantly. It was 5 years later, and at the wedding of Adrien Agreste and (Y/N) Lahiffe, now (Y/N) Agreste. Nino smiled slightly, “You’re welcome, sis.”

A/N: Wow! It’s back and improved! I’m re-writing the whole thing because it’s been more than a year since I wrote this fic and my writing has improved haha. Enjoy, guys! It’s different from the previous version, as in wording.
With the sun setting across the horizon and the wind blowing, feeling crisp and refreshing, you took deep breaths, calming down. Being outdoors always did that to you, even if most of your life had been spent in a palace. Had it been any other day, you would have been happy to contemplate the beautiful, vibrant colors that each unique sunset brought, but tonight was different. All you wanted to do was go back to your own palace, lock your door, crawl into your bed, and forget you had responsibilities and a role to play.
Fingers tapping absently on the stone balustrade, your gaze descended and fell on the walled gardens that stretched out behind the palace. There were couples peppered throughout, holding hands, walking close together as if they were sharing the most secretive things and no one else should know. Smiling despite yourself, you could almost taste the bittersweet feeling. It was well-known that you would never be in their shoes. You would never fall deeply for a person of your choosing. That wasn’t your destiny.
