when you're scared/nervous of posting anime/manga canon x oc content because of the overwhelming preference of canon x reader

i love to write ocs because it's something i've been doing since elementary school (ages ago...leave me aloneeeee i'm old), but it's a solid blow to the gut when you come across posts/comments about people putting ocs down for being self-inserts or not having the description of said oc (eye/hair color, body type, etc), hence why the focus is shifting more to canon x reader instead; after all...and this is just for example's sake...what would you rather read: satoru gojo x oc OR satoru gojo x reader.

everyone is entitled to read/enjoy what they want, and it's hard when you, the writer/creator, see what preference is...well...prevalent in the writing community and you only write in one style.

whelp...thank tiktok and sometimes tumblr for making me self-conscious. maybe that's why i haven't been making progress lately on my work.

We lost our home and were forced to flee and escape with our lives. We have been displaced eight times, moving from one school to another, and we are now living a life of homelessness and hunger. Our bodies have been worn down, our bones are brittle, and my son Mohamed's chest bones are now protruding along with his spine. His body is covered in scabies due to a lack of cleanliness and the absence of medicine. Our bodies are swollen from the intense heat as we live with 40 people crammed into a small classroom filled with displaced people. My children have been deprived of education, even though they are all excellent students. On top of everything, there's constant bombing, fear, and hunger every day 🥺. This is why I am reaching out, as I have no income to provide for their basic needs as we try to rebuild our lives

This. I have not seen ANY videos/pictures/media showing destroyed buildings in israel like I have seen in Palestine. We have seen Palestine being totally leveled: bombed hospitals, houses, schools, everything. But you know what I have not seen? The same in israel. And do not even try to say "oh khamas controls israels media!!!". How? Because thats makes you sound like an antivaxxer flatearther 💀 so your opinion is automatically worthless and waste of space.

Like people make it sound like what happened on oct 7 was like The Rumbling yet I havent seen anything of that level. Yet you could think that it happened in Palestine because of all the evidence.
