text below, tw war
i should do a challenge "draw every time you hear an explosion or anti air defense sounds" while i'm here, lol. wanted to stay at a friend's place overnight but returned home before curfew to do line of action (bc i would have just chatted with him the whole time otherwise), an hour later there was an explosion not far from him. could've witness the action from the front row if i stayed, but parents would know where i am and would worry and it's nothing i haven't seen before anyway, so no regrets. i write stuff like "lol" or "action" but just to be clear - it is not fun and people get hurt and die and lose their possessions such as home, don't be a war victim if you can and definitely don't go and be an occupant in foreign country, you are not welcome and no possible repercussions for draft evasion or defecting are a valid reason to do that.
anyway, noticed that i gave the guy few extra ribs only on shading stage when there were 4 minutes left, decided to not fix it. both proportions and shadings are a bit off today, i should pay more attention next time, but it seems the faces are improving. i try to make sure i draw the face during figure drawing if there's enough time. the last pic is faces only study i did yesterday after figure drawing - most of them are very bad but i liked 3 of them.
i will try to ask my friend to pose for me. tried that with another friend a while ago and the results are nothing to share; i hope now my skill is good enough.
widen
finally a free day, i should draw some but am tempted to play video games or just laze around, a hard choice...
that one guy (apparently) on tumblr asking me to draw his wife once every few months: dw i got your back :)
finished mg2 yesterday. one of my favourite parts is the locker full of venomous hamsters. glad to see that my rodents were relocated from dd to outer heaven and then rescued to zanzibar land. they also killed solid snake at least twice, creating a different future for the world. go diamond rodents.
i will bring all the rodents of afghanistan to the mother base. imagining pequod having to catch that little fella on a small balloon and give him a gajillion km ride. it's a shame they are supposed to go into the zoo platform instead of running all over the place.
don't look up "kill sex" on tumblr there's no memes with cool skeletons and mgs characters :(
i will repost every mgs post my homie makes, and hopefully convince him to post more mgs related sketches >]
what if raiden metal gear fell asleep
there is a fan made christmas metal gear game and you should try it!
i was looking for christmas cards from metal gear social and instead found the fan made game merry gear solid: secret santa. it is available for free and only takes ~15 minutes to complete, has cool voice acting, funny codec calls, simple controls (arrows, shift, control and mouse) and few fun mechanics like candy cane instead of cigs, gift box (full of bombs!) and a (non digital) camera that is like stun grenade x claymore x c4. in this game, you are playing as santa claus (code name solid santa) and due to tightened security have to infiltrate the house to deliver presents instead of the traditional way. of course, a plot twist awaits at the end, and an even bigger one in the after credits call!
please give it a try, download available at http://www.superfundungeonrun.com/?page_id=297 . you can also look up walkthrough on youtube but why rid yourself of the experience of playing it yourself? i have read the plot summary before playing it and spoiled everything but still had a lot of fun, and hope that you will too!
there is a sequel that i want to play as well!
having friends is great sometimes they draw naked women for you

have read "the sun also rises"/"fiesta" by hemingway. review below
i'd say it is a slice of life about bohemian american expats in paris with lots of casual conversations and description of their leisure, with a side of nature and bullfighting. although not explicitly stated by the narrator/main character, upon closer inspection the book is focused on how the virility (no pun intended, i can't think of a better word) of young men (and possibly women) was broken by ww1 despite wars being supposed to be both outlet and forge of virtue and merit.
i haven't read a lot of hemingway and not big on reading in general, but the intentional omitting of things makes it really good as well as suits the tendency of many characters to avoid thinking about some things. there are a lot of diverse and believable characters, both recurring and mentioned only once. their friendly chat and banter reminded me of philip k dick's "a scanner darkly" in some way. besides war, it depicts issues of living in immigration, loneliness and alienation in a city, scepticism, insecurity, discrimination, feeling emasculated and toxic polycules.
it also has an interesting depiction of a female character's life values but that is up to women to comment. although she also admits to feeling miserable most of the time, it seems she is better adjusted than most of the male characters.
it is sad that 100 hundred years later it is relevant (not talking for everyone) but comforting that people in the past felt the same way. personally i am going to adopt ways of coping depicted in it, such as group trips, spending time outside the city and competitive games/sports. note that any character probably wasn't supposed to be a moral role model probably even at that time: befriend people of other genders for the sake of good friendship, don't blame your irritation with a person on their nationality etc.
cw for this book are mention of discrimination, slurs (i counted 3), animal abuse, a bit of gore, alcohol abuse, consequences of war and a weird open relationship where no one is really happy.
i would also say it might be relevant for trans guys with bottom dysphoria but (ending spoiler ahead) main character doesn't think much about it and eventually realises that it doesn't even matter bc he and his peers are messed up mentally and a healthy dick would not grant a happy relationship. which still might be relevant but i'm not sure if it's the message anyone would be looking for :)
i had a lot of fun first listening to it on youtube and then switching to a paper book, highly recommend it. reading the litcharts review was a bit irritating for me and more gendered than it could be, but provided an interesting insight on where stuff i thought to be just "default" comes from and reflect on my own (civilian) life.
cw nudity and suggestive images. he/him, πΊπ¦, born 1999. posting bad art bc it is the way to posting good art. you should post your art now!
