Ekko: "Please, don't blow us both up!"
Jinx:
ekko loving jinx or powder is a meaningless argument cuz the entire point of episode 7 is for both ekko and you the viewer to learn "jinx" and "powder" are the same person and ekko loves that person— not their good side or their bad side, but the whole package.
that's why their love song is called my best enemy, and talks about the worst blessings and the best curses. and that's how he can talk jinx off the ledge. the contradiction of being in love with your enemy is the entire basis of their story.
powder at one point literally asks him point blank "so you want me to change?" and he flat out says no: cuz he knows everything that makes 'powder' powder given one favorable set of circumstances also makes 'jinx' jinx given another set of unfavorable circumstances.
there is no powder or jinx, it's just ekko and his blue-haired paramour, in every timeline.
I've always liked the idea of Kya II being able to see spirits, like Jinora (and Iroh in the og show) did. Maybe not as clearly as Jinora, or she didn't have as special bond with them, but it just feels so very convenient that she somehow deduced that Jinora can see spirits simply by seeing a child chase something invisible. Like talk about a lucky guess.
Tenzin: You have to trust me. I can help you. Kya: There might be another way. Jinora, is there something you want to tell Korra?
Now, I imagine there are two paths this headcanon could follow.
One is rather sad, where Kya manifests the gift, but never tells Aang because he's too focused on training Tenzin. And so Kya doesn't really do much with her spirituality.
But the other, and more cheerful (and the one i find more plausible) is that Kya did tell Aang about her ability and he tried to to train her in the traditional way airbenders were, however it didn't work, as Kya herself has admitted that she struggled with memorising the theoretical and historical aspect of it.
Obligatory "yeah i bet you couldn't keep them straight you beautiful sapphic" joke
Which is why Kya didn't consider herself a viable spirit guide for Korra in B2. Tgough she clearly did internalise some of Aang's teachings, like mediatation and a nomadic lifestyle. Perhaps her journeys led her to more spiritual places, who knows. I also think that, while focused mostly on the physical and chi, healing through waterbending appears to be a decently spiritual discipline, which may be why Kya excelled in it.
Big fan of her signature move, the "scan em like a big xerox machine"
Also, piggybacking off this, I always thought that the reason Kya ans Bumi succumbed to the Fog of Lost souls quicker than Tenzin was bacause they're both more spiritually attuned than him. Sort of an open door policy on spiritual influence, good and bad.
I think the idea of Miles being “betrayed” by Gwen, Peter, and Peni is really interesting to think/talk about
I personally feel that when it comes to betraying someone, there has to be intentionality behind it; if it wasn’t intentional, then I don’t think betray is the appropriate word to use for it (granted I’m no dictionary, that’s just what I think)
What happened with Gwen and the others was unintentional; they were in an incredibly tight and uncomfortable place in regards to Miles and Miguel (being friends with Miles and wanting what’s best for him, and working for Miguel and not wanting to disobey him because they think/thought that he knows best) and I don’t disregard that at all
So did they betray Miles? No, I don’t think so. But, does Miles feel betrayed by them and their actions? And is he valid for feeling so? Absolutely yes to both of those things
I love how Ekko and Jinx had screentime together post-timeskip for about 5 or so minutes, and yet Timebomb's one of the most popular ships in the show and is THE most popular straight ship (over the in-canon ones lmao).
— How The King Of Elfhame Learned To Hate Stories by Holly Black
A flash of what looks like Jinx’s face during the scene when Ekko is trying to escape Viktor’s drones
He was thinking of her to give himself strength 😭
The idea of Mylo somehow seeing how jinx sees him breaks my heart, he was mean and shit bc he was an insecure kid, but im sure he loved her, and now, his lil sister will forever see him as the lil voice that whispers her deepest insecurities and fears in her ear
I haven't seen this talked about much, but I just know Jinx probably wanted to crash tf out when the Firelights first came on the scene and started messing with Silco and the chem-barons. Like imagine cutting ties with your best friend—breaking his heart and your own in the process—in order to protect him from your rotten luck and Silco's wrath, and then instead of making a life somewhere safe, he starts a fucking resistance movement against your boss/father figure. Now you have to fight him on a regular basis and mean it because if you don't, he's never gonna give up on the memory of his childhood friend. And then, as the months and years and fights go by, you have to watch as he starts to hate you and pretend it doesn't hurt when your own feelings never changed.
Ekko knew what he wanted from a very early age
The way he still looks at her like she's the prettiest thing in the world. 😭
To be clear, Jinx didn’t magically go from being schizophrenic and severely mentally unstable to “just a little quirky and chaotic” from season 1 to season 2. She’s just not living with and dependent on someone who is actively trying to make her mental health worse for his personal gain anymore.
Also, adopting a kid and receiving unconditional love again for the first time in almost 10 years probably helped a lot. As did reconnecting with her sister whom she was manipulated into believing was the cause of her problems and pain.
