Damn. Rewatched the Ninjago Movie and Jay is a lot snarkier than I remember. He's the main guy getting mad at Lloyd when they all almost die, he's talking a lot more than I expected him to, he's even a bit more confident than I gave him credit for. He's a lot more like Show!Jay than I thought.

Some doodles of Jay and Morro’s parents I am so normal about these two  Liberty Justice (the blonde woman) used to be the elemental master of electricity but quit being a ninja to be an actor. She’s currently a popular actor and one of the main actresses in the Starfarer show. She’s very secretive of her private life and appears to have no family members. She appeared out of nowhere one day and rose in popularity. All the public knows is that she is currently single and divorced. Tai Lu (the black haired man) used to be the elemental master of wind but was rumored to have died due to a dragon attack. Wu seems to have a clear dislike of him. There are contradicting stories about him and people have a different view on him, some say he was a hero, some say he was a traitor working for garmadon. Also unrelated note but Morro is biologically blond and there might be a chance that Jay is too but they dye their hair.

I love how in the Ninjago fandom there are certain things that (mostly) everyone agrees on. Like Zane being the best cook, Jay is the fastest on the team and there being absolutely no way Cole can be straight.

i found out the other day that gwen’s brother has an actual canon design and started freaking the fuck out because making a design for him has been in the back of my mind for over a year. his official unofficial name (just so i don’t have to keep referring to him as “gwen’s brother” over and over is Dax! (feel free to use this name for your own version of him if you’d like! i’ll be starting some tags for him)

anyway, i think cody’s social ineptness combined with the fact that he’s an only child would make for some really awkward interactions with dax. also, since dax is a bit of a rebel and goth himself, i imagine he’d probably have gotten along with duncan really well, and would be a little upset / disappointed at the change from a hardened punk to a softie nerd. eventually they’d warm up to each other and realize they have some stuff in common, i can picture the two of them bonding over video games and making music.

also, i will definitely be drawing cody with gwen’s mom at some point! i feel like’d he’d be a major suckup to her.
