Saturdays were like holy days at the Compound. Unless there was an urgent mission, Saturdays were what Rogers and Bucky and the other military guys called “down days”. It was for sleeping in late, laundry, grocery-store runs, whatever needed to be done. The sleeping late bit would have been glorious, except for the fact that your bed partner apparently had a thing against it. 

The alarm went off at four-thirty, just like every other morning, and you groaned. “Jesus Christ, Buck,” you grumbled. “It’s Saturday.” 

“I have a schedule,” Bucky said simply. You could tell that he was hardly awake, his voice deep and raspy from sleeping with his mouth open, and you knew that it wouldn’t take much to convince him to stay in bed. 

“C’mon, baby,” you said softly and reached out for him. It was dark in the room and you groped blindly for a minute before your hand was filled by his cold metal fingers. “Just five more minutes?” 

Bucky sighed out your name, obviously exasperated. “I have to keep with the schedule--” 

“But I’m so cold,” you whimpered. “Bucky, please, baby. Just lay down with me for five minutes. You can spare five minutes, right?”

Bucky gave a little huff and he laid back down next to you. You clung to his arm and slung it around your chest, and you gave a little squeak as you settled back into his warm chest. Cuddling with Bucky was such a privilege to you, even if he hated it 90% of the time. However, that other 10%... 

“You smell nice,” Bucky whispered, and he pushed an errant lock of hair out of your face. 

“Thanks,” you replied. “You always smell really nice too.”

With that, you felt Bucky’s entire weight settle down beside you, and you knew that five minutes would turn into however long you wanted. He tugged you closer, laying a leg over yours, and you felt his breathing and heartbeat against your back. Bucky hardly ever slept and, when he did, it was erratic, so you enjoyed the moments where he was still and content. You could always tell when he was happy; he sighed and hummed gently, and you could feel the difference in your heart. 

Bucky’s beefy chest was almost hot against your back, and you took his metal hand in your own. In the dim light of the room, you saw the deft fingers whirring, and you placed soft kisses to his fingertips. You seem like you’ve had a really hard few weeks,” you whispered. 

Bucky hummed and nodded. “Just glad you’re here,” he said. “I feel better with you in my arms.” 

You carefully turned around to face him, and you found his blue eyes watching you. His hair was wild with sleep, and you placed a soft kiss on his nose as you threaded your fingers through his hair. “I feel better being in your arms,” you told him. “Feel so warm and safe and loved…”

“You should,” Bucky whispered. “I’ve never loved anyone the way I love you.” 

That made you smile, and you smushed your cheek into his chest. “Go back to sleep, Buck,” you whispered. “And dream a little dream of me and you.” 

taking his thumb and pointer finger and guiding your eyes back up to his.

what about peter having to patch y/n up from a fight since it’s usually the other way around, theyre both sassy to eachother but its cute. maybe y/n beat off a mugger or something spider-man wouldve done

you’re sat on the edge of the bed, the hustle and bustle of queen’s, new york becoming nothing but muffled background noise as you and peter are both in your own little world of playing doctor. tonight the roles are switched — usually it’s you using only the gentlest touch, dabbing a soft, warm-watered face cloth over peter’s face to help clean him up and then opening a pack of hello kitty bandaids to cover any other trace of injury. but now it’s peter, beautiful brown eyes looking around your face with so much love, care and concern as his gentle palms use the washcloth to clean up the cut on your right cheek and bottom lip.

“you really shouldn’t have been there tonight, y/n/n. you could’ve gotten seriously hurt” peter speaks as you focus on the infinitesimal brown dots that litter his face, the moonlight making them more prominent. “yeah, i know...” you say quietly. “but hey, at least i got them distracted enough so you could take them down” peter sighs before dabbing the cloth against your lip one last time — you figure his own would be the perfect cure for this situation. “that’s not the point”

“pete, they literally had you pinned against the building. you could’ve been crushed or worse. and i’d really prefer if my boyfriend didn’t look like an early morning pancake”

“i mean hey, i think i’d be a pretty cute pancake,” you smile to yourself thinking you’ve made the situation lighthearted but peter shakes his head to get back on track. “y/n, don’t joke about this, this is serious” you look down at your carpeted floor, your face going back to a frown as you fidget with your fingers. “pete, i’m really sorry i worried you so much. i-i guess i was only thinking about how scared i was of losing you”

you didn’t have to guess in that moment — you knew how afraid you were that if you didn’t coax spidey’s current villain into playing a game of tag with you, you’d for sure lose the love of your life. and peter was too important for you to not take that risk. peter kneels down so he’s level with you, enchanting brown orbs looking into your own.

“you think i wasn’t scared, too? pretty girl, when i heard your lovely voice and felt the bad guy move off of me, my heart dropped,” you turn your gaze away from him. but he makes sure you absorb his next few words, taking his thumb and pointer finger and guiding your eyes back up to his. “i do appreciate that you stepped in to help your favourite superhero in your own little way,” you chuckle softly at his words and he’s happy he could light you back up again. “but maybe you could just call up some reinforcements next time? save your beloved boyfriend from having a heart attack?”

you giggle softly at the dork you’re so fully in love with, wrapping your arms around his neck, “will do, spidey” he leans up, putting his hands on your waist and getting the tips of your noses to touch, waiting for your next move. “pete?” you mutter barely above a whisper, not wanting to disrupt the moment. “hm?”

“think my lips still need a little healing...”

“you just leave that to me, beautiful...”
