• Taking Care of Injured Sevika •

It's like pulling teeth.

Sevika is kind of an asshole whenever she's wounded, to be honest.

Like, you're not just fighting her stubbornness here, you're also battling her ego, too.

She will downplay any injury she obtains even if it's her literal metal prosthetic torn straight off.

Even if said prosthetic is just a hunk of steel scrap on the ground now and her stub is oozing pink Shimmer everywhere.

Sevika's first instinct will be to practically throw you off of her when you rush to her aid.

She will be gruff, crude and absolutely boorish.

She will tell you that she is fine and to stop being so damn dramatic.

She will bark at you to fetch her a strong drink while she collapses down onto your shared apartments couch and lights up a cigarette.

To say Sevika is an unruly patient is an egregious understatement.

Plus, the woman is built like a brick wall so it's not like you can force her to do anything she doesn't want to do, even if it's for her own benefit.

At times it seems like she'd much rather bleed out and die than let you tend to her.

The only time Sevika even half listens to you is through bribery.

If you offer something she wants than maybe, maybe she will spend the day in bed resting or actually let you change her bandages or take the medicine you prescribe her.

There are only two sure fire ways to motivate her into doing what you say.

You either tell her that you will give her a nice, rare vintage bottle of alcohol or that you'll let her do anything she wants to you in the bedroom once she recovers.

Summed up nicely, Sevika's passions are fighting, which is why she's injured in the first place, a nice bottle of aged whiskey or scotch and you naked in bed.

It's not like you mind spending money on a nice vintage for your girlfriend and you mind even less being completely at the sexy, buff lady's mercy but still...

The fact that you have to resort to buying her off in some way just to get her to heal properly is ridiculous.

Whenever you try to disinfect a flesh wound she hisses from the sting and makes it seem like a personal attack to her.

The gray eyed glare she fixes you is murderous to say the least and it's a good thing she can't kill with just a look, otherwise you'd be dead.

And, don't even get me started on how grumpy Sevika is in the days that follow.

When she has visible bandages wrapped around her like a mummy, when her damaged metal prosthetic is in a sling, waiting for a mechanic to come and fix it. (It being too wrecked for her to make her own repairs)

You've theorized that Sevika's aversion to being seen injured has to do with her ego as well and that she doesn't want others, especially Silco and his underlings to see her as "weak".

She has a reputation to maintain after all as being the scariest lady in the Undercity.

So when she does get hurt she feels like her whole position may be threatened and the bruise to her self esteem is way worse than whatever bodily injury she did receive.

Never mind the fact that 9 out of 10 times it's her opponent who she fought that has to spend months in the hospital recovering from the damage she caused.

You try to be gentle and understanding of her pride since you know how challenging it can be maintaining her "not to be messed with", dangerous infamy.

The Undercity is a dog eat dog world after all, especially when working for Silco.

You have to conjure up the patience of a saint whenever she's injured.

You have to be on your best behavior because these are sensitive times and she tends to snap and growl.

You will have to stand your ground as well despite being a mere mouse up against a lion.

But seriously, "If she doesn't allow for the cut to be properly cleaned it will get infected!"

Rationally you know that your girlfriend would never hurt you but it is no trifling matter having to assert yourself against the beautiful giant.

When Sevika is in pain and injured her temperance becomes akin to a bear just awoken from hibernation.

Once you knocked a carafe of booze right out of her hand when she had been adamantly refusing to let you attend to her for going on hours.

Her blood was everywhere around your shared apartment and she needed to be properly cleaned.

As the alcohol splashed across the whole room and shattered glass made it's own mosaic onto the floor the look the enforcer of Zaun had given you made you freeze like a deer in headlights.

Though despite her bone chilling glare it was quickly replaced with a smug, almost proud smirk.

That night only resulted in her yanking you towards her by the flesh of your hips and having her way with you.

It is very challenging to get Sevika to focus on the task at hand, which is tending to the wounds and allowing for them to heal.

She just wants to smoke, drink and have you beneath her.

Though despite her thorny, brutish behavior when hurt she does deep down feel gratitude towards you.

And, it's certainly no turn off for her having you as her nurse.

Sevika just isn't used to someone caring for her and actually wanting to take care of her, okay.

The reason she's such a bitch to you is because you're making her feel all soft and warm inside and she hates it.

Like, no, stop fussing over her and making her feel loved.

But, also don't stop and she secretly appreciates you so much.

Sevika knows she is difficult and chances are she will always be difficult but subtly she does show you how much she loves you.

She is not one to do anything she doesn't want to do, so if she actually hated you taking care of her, you'd be thrown straight through a window.

And, though she argues against your ministrations to the enth degree it's just a small way of maintaining her pride.

In truth Sevika knows what sorry state she'd be in without you to care for her.

And, even more does she know how broken her heart would be if she didn't have your love.

Because I needed this today, we’re being less than judicious with the que. We’ll go back to regular order after this post. As an aside, this is the way that I experience anxiety attacks, it is different for everyone.

You sat by yourself on the cool cobblestones of an alley. You had felt a little on edge all day, but the proper attack had come on rather suddenly. As you stood conversing with a villager, a sharp pain in your ribs and back appeared, you became hyper aware of the feeling of your pulse in your throat. You were able to politely excuse yourself before finding somewhere to be alone. You curled up, back against a wall, knees to your chest, trying to convince your body to calm down.

“Y/n there you-“ Luisa stopped suddenly, her tone going from excitement to concern. “Mi vida? Are you okay?”

“Yeah, just an anxiety attack. I’ll be fine.” You panted. She sat down, pulling you over into her lap, your head on her chest.

“Breathe with me.” She said, setting a slow and steady rhythm with her breathing. You began to mimic the rise and fall of her chest, slowly letting the tension go from your body.

“How are you doing?”

“I-I’m fine.” You said, the tears starting to well in your eyes.

“Amor, you’re not fine, you just had an anxiety attack, and you sound like you wanna cry.”

“I’m sorry, I just don’t know what caused it, it just sort of happened.” You said, hugging her tight.

“It’s okay. We’ll get through this.” She rocked you gently, putting her face in your hair.

“Can I stay with you for the rest of the day?”

“Absolutely.” She said,kissing the top of your head. “But why don’t we stay here for a bit, just so I know you’re going to be okay. If not, I’ll call it a day and just take you home.”

“But the village-“

“Doesn’t need me more than you do right now.” She said, cutting you off. You nodded, yawning slightly. She hummed a little, squeezing you just a bit tighter. “It’s gonna be okay.

. I know I said before that she can be a bit standoffish but Sevika really does care, she just doesn’t alway know how to express it 

. It looks ridiculous but if you’re in public she’ll pull you under her cloak and hold you do that you can seek comfort while you calm down

. Takes your hand in hers for the time being even while she’s working she never lets it go

. Stops what she’s doing to monitor you just to check up on your mental state

. “You still feelin okay?”

. When you’re in private that’s a completely different story

. She notices the little frown and the way your face starts to crinkle and immediately takes your chin in her hand, stroking her thumb against your cheek as she asks you what’s wrong

.Will silently hold your face in her hands and look into your eyes until you’ve calmed down

. Scoops you into her arms and squeezes you in a bear hug with those big arms of hers and she’s so warm, so warm (other than her mechanic arm of course)

. If you need some cheering up she’ll pull off her cape, swaddle you in it so only your face is poking out and plant a kiss on your nose

. Will make you stand on her feet then rock the two of you side to side

.Has placed you on her lap and bounced on her leg to calm you down before and will do it again.

So it's common knowledge or agreement ig, that Sevika tried to avoid interpersonal relationships getting to know people or being with someone for a goal whether it be sex, money or Zaun. Brothels, gambling and work. But what made her like that.

So I keep thinking she kinda has eldest daughter syndrome right? Like she feels the need to carry everything herself and still seems to end up failing. Even when she blows off steam at the brothel there's always something else.

Yea she's scared of someone she loves getting hurt but she's more scared of getting herself hurt. So she kinda just snips people out.

Now I keep imagining her when she realizes that she just can't cut her s/o out of her life. That ghosting them, being the reason they cry hurts her way more than they could hurt her.

I also keep thinking about that one nonsexual intimacy thing and how everyone's in agreement she's a threat, she's scary, shes a weapon, she's hot, she's big she goes to the brothel. Imagine what slight face touches would do to her, kissing her scars, giving her little gifts, playing with her hair, back rubs.

That poor women probably has been objectified by most people one way or the other, but seems to push anyone with interest that she can away.

You go to lay down with her and her first words are "not tonight baby I'm tired" and her melting when you lay with her and pull her into your chest.

Whenever you guys cuddle she so tense, when you trace the back of your finger across her face she just stares at you, you'd probably think she didn't like it and when you pull away she says "don't stop" but she sounded a bit harsh but inside her hearts beating so fast.

Imagining her laying her head in your lap to listen to you talk, and you start to play with her hair and she just sighs. It's feels good.

Taking showers with her and in the least sexual way just cleaning each other, her pulling you into the kitchen to dance, pulling you onto her lap to shove her face in the crook of your neck, the way she glides her lips across your skin you your arms, leaving faint traces of black lipstick across your body.

The kind of intimacy that it feels so good it makes your heart ache, your head go dizzy and tears fall.

Head injury

You stood in the middle of the square, pretending to be just as useful as any member of the Madrigal clan. You helped an older member of the village fold her laundry, and kept the priest from taking a dunk in the fountain. Well, almost.

In grabbing the priest by the back of his shirt to keep him from going head long into the water, he had twisted, redirecting the momentum to throw you into the water by accident. There was a sharp pain in the top of your head that lead to an underwater gasp.

One of Isabella’s vines looped around your waist, pulling you from the water as you coughed and sputtered. Familiar arms pulled you from the vine, setting you on the side of the fountain.

“Dove, look at me.” Luisa’s voice sounded in front of you. You tried to open your eyes, but found your vision very foggy and distorted. You tried to speak, but the water in your lungs was making anything other than coughing near impossible. Another figure in blue rushed over, placing gentle hands on your face.

“Do you think you can eat?” You shook your head.

“What do we do?” A hint of fear invading Luisa tone.

“Keep her upright until the coughing settles down. Don’t let her go to sleep.” Julietta instructed. You weren’t sure how you could possibly sleep with the burning on the top of your head and your body’s attempts to remove a lung via your airway.

“I can work one handed.” Luisa said, picking you up so that your body was being held upright between her arm and her chest. You tried to argue that this was silly, but all that came out was a series of syllables and coughs that made no sense.

“Hey, don’t cough at her in that tone.” Camilo scolded playfully. You half laughed and then coughed some more. Luisa grumbled something about not making it worse and began gathering loose burros.

“They need better fences.” You rasped after a while. “This is like a *cough* daily thing.” You were placed gently on a rock. A hand wiped your forehead careful of the spot that had collided with the fountain.

“You okay?” Luisa asked, kissing your forehead softly.

“Peachy.” *wheeze* “Just peachy.”

“Let me finish this, and we’ll get you back to Mama. I won’t be happy until that spot on your head is mended.”

“Ah, so the coughing out a lung is f- *cough cough cough*”

“That’s what you get for being smart.” Luisa scolded, kick flipping a burro with extra gusto on to her shoulders. You stood and started to stagger after her.

“What are you doing?”

“Following all three of you, obviously. Not every day I get more than one of you.” You teased. She nearly dropped a burro.

“I. You. Stop it.” She managed, you were pretty sure she was blushing. “Stay there. I’ll be back.”

“Fine, leave me all by my lonesome.” You sighed dramatically and started coughing again. You could almost swear, through the visual fog that she was running. You wobbled back to the rock and sat. Damn this day had been tiring. You yawned, feeling a rush of exhaustion hit. A little nap wouldn’t hurt would it? Just as you started to doze you were shaken awake.

“Y/n! Wake up!” Luisa’s voice was frantic.

“I’m up I’m up.” You slurred. Why did everything feel heavy.

“I shouldn’t have left you. Damn it.”

“Why would you leave me. I’m adorable.” You joked. No response. “Amor, that’s the part where you tell me to shut up. Remember? We have this whole back and-“

“Mama!” Luisa yelled carrying you over, and setting you down on the table.

“I’m fine, really just tired.”

“Eat this dear.” Julietta instructed, placing an Arepa in your hand. Luisa took it and placed it to your lips when your arm didn’t move. You took a bite and started to come back to a come an alert state. A couple more and the pain in your lungs and head faded.

“Better?” Luisa asked, you nodded, kissing her hand.

“Much, thank you.”

“Awww.” Isabella and Mirabel were standing together watching the two of you.

“Thanks for fishing me out earlier.” You said to Isabella, she smiled.

“You’re welcome.” She curtsied and made a bunch of flowers bloom for emphasis.

“Show off.” Mirabel commented, lightly nudging her sister.

“I’m taking Y/n home.” Luisa announced. “She needs rest.” You were lifted into her arms again and packed back up the hill.

“Amor, are you upset with me?” You asked, reaching up to cup her face.

“With you? No.” The unspoken portion left hanging in the air.

“How were you supposed to know I was going to fall asleep the minute I wasn’t being watched. Clairvoyance isn’t your gift.” Tears started to slip down her cheeks. You shifted to loop you’re arms around her neck. “I’m okay. I promise.”

“How did that happen anyway? One minute you’re helping with laundry, the next Isabella is yelling for me and you’re crumpled in the fountain.”

“The priest was about to suffer the same fate, I slipped redirecting him.”

“You shoulda…” she trailed off.

“Yeah, maybe we don’t wish ill on the priest. Abuella is devout after all.”

“I just…” an exasperated sigh followed.

“I know, you hate it when I’m hurt, I’m not really a fan either.” That earned a little smile. “I wasn’t kidding about that three of you comment though.”

“Stop it, Dolores can hear us.” Luisa blushed.

“Pretty sure she’s heard your parents and hers doing the horizontal tango.”

“No.” Luisa gasped, trying to block the realization.

“The beast with two backs.”

“Quit.” Her face went even redder, sympathy in her eyes for her cousin.

“You could even say they-“

“Dove, I am begging you.”

“Alright, alright, I’ll stop.” You had reached Cassita’s threshold by this point, and Luisa made a bee-line for her room. She set you down on the bed before loosing her shoes and getting in with you. You were pulled on top on her, your head resting on her chest.

“Promise me you’ll let the next person fall in.”

“You know I can’t.” Heavy sigh. “That’s part of why you love me.”

“Ya’know, this you being right thing is a real pain sometimes.”

Sevika sticks close to you when ever you go out

Being a bodyguard is her job, but she's doing that out of duty and respect for Silco, and for you she does it out of her love for you

Sevika work is rather dangerous so she tries to keep you away from the nitty gritty of it all, even though she can only do so much to protect you from it in Zaun

However because of that she also wants to make sure you're prepared to defend yourself

Often it's enough for you to just name drop Sevika to make people back off

Sevika likes having you close, she likes to keep an eye on you so she can move in if anyone messes with you

She gets into fights a lot and doesn't mind showing off for you during a fight, or just re-establishing her status as Silco's right hand and one of the scariest people in Zaun

She's tough, snarky and dominant with everyone else but with you she shows her softer side

It took her a long time to open up to you and let herself be vulnerable with you

You were actually surprised when she revealed her gentler side to you and returned your affections, you were surprised to find such a protective person behind that rough and hard exterior

Sevika is very gentle with you with her metal arm, always making sure she doesn't hurt you when she's hugging you

And likes to hug you, in private of course

She makes you fell safe and you make her happy, ridiculously so

Before she met you she thought happiness was getting to work for Zaun's top crime lord, getting to have all that money and influence and power

But then she met you, this person that she didn't think very much of at first but slowly melted her hard exterior and you became someone she always wants by her side
