Queen shit
Sure but that doesn't mean an argument that is just "this thing is old and thus good" isn't a conservative mindset. I still stand by my point of the idea of "this is what always happened" being a conservative mentality.
So, does the choice of being raped vs starvation really seem consensual and not dubious at all to you? What about, say a boss that withholds raises for sex? Also, sex work is unnecessary labor and exploitive/painful for the vast majority of workers, so what is the reason to keep it? I am against constant consumerist buying and sweatshops and child labor as well to be clear for similar reasons, it's unnecessary and worsens exploitation. Does stigmatizing buying off of Shein hurt sweatshop workers in your opinion? I don't think sex workers should be punished either to be clear, I think johns and pimps should, and sex workers should be helped back into professions that don't require getting raped daily you know.
I think a few surveys, but it is true that there's not much data on that specifically. There's quite a lot of data on rates of violence, sexual and not and it's like 50%. When I look it up, most of the statistics from surveying SWers are like 80-95% wanting to leave though.
Sure but wanting something to continue to exist because it's old is by definition conservative. If you want it to exist for some other reason DESPITE it being old then ok that's not. I still disagree regardless.
Amazing how defenses for sex work are both the "it's the world's oldest profession" quote from a colonizer (which is so blatantly untrue that I'm amazed that anyone believes that) and also "you're a conservative and want to control women if you think coercive rape is wrong" So is it an ancient practice that we need to conserve or something new and progressive
Pick a fucking side
oh lmao I thought, well, hoped it was satire.
I don't know if you've ever actually talked to an MRA or not honestly.
So MRAs are usually the type to say shit like "im pro-equality and that's why im not feminist", aka these poor men you're defending or maybe even you too. They also think the whole world is a matriarchy. Yeah, turns out they don't even think women in Afghanistan are oppressed, and yes I did ask. They don't think women are or were ever oppressed in general either. They are also mostly anti-abortion and even anti-no fault divorce to basically spite women.
On the other hand, feminists, yes even the KAM radfems, don't take mens rights away. Men are just mad if we also have rights, and have ALWAYS been using the same arguments against feminists. The "feminists hate men" thing was definitely popular during 1st wave feminism.
Also, essentially all of the actual polices that they say are sexism against men, are because of traditionalists, yet... it's women, specifically feminists, that are just... driving them to insanity for saying KAM at misogynists on twitter??
But good luck with the coddling these dudes though! I'm sure these men will listen to you!
Alright this is gonna be tough for alot of ya'll to hear but leftist and progressive spaces need to be more welcoming to men especially cis het white men. The more we speak bad about men the more men will go down the alt right pipeline. And obviously that's a bad thing. If we want men to be on our side we should create a space where they can also feel included because if we don't more men will go down the alt right and alpha male pipeline
Lmao sure ok?
So how the fuck would you treat a child equal to an adult?
Because from my memory, the last time that was close to a thing (aka at least treating kids who hit puberty like adults), we had child labor and child marriages, and school wasn't required after like 6th grade.
So, do children have the maturity for all that, or is it necessary to be "ageist"?
thoughts on youthlib?
Honestly I had basically no idea about this movement but I just looked it up.
It makes some sense, like for rights to education, protecting children from child abuse, etc.
However, I don't see how it's a good idea to get rid of "ageism" towards young people since it's just a fact that children are immature and shouldn't be treated equal to adults.
How about you? (you can just send me another anon message saying "youthlib anon here" or something)
men be like "if women are really that intelligent, why are all major discoveries made by men? 🤓" as if they didn’t quite literally burn women alive if they were smart back in the day
reminiscing on warehouse work, how it affected me, and how it's a capitalist trap that's actually working, to everyone's detriment.
Almost a year ago I got my "dream job" of working at Sephora. I had already began reading a lot of rad fem literature by the time I got there.
10 years ago I would have loved it but by the time I was working there I was already aware of the dystopian nightmare it really is.
It was one thing to help someone find a basic skin care routine to calm their skin but when we had to push certain products.
To make the sales goals you had to look at a woman's face and slowly ask and press them on their flaws and suggest the magic product that would help them.
I did it for one day, I killed it on the sales floor. I could not sleep that night and had already began drafting my resignation letter.
When I grew up, drag full face glam was popular but now it was the "no makeup, clean girl" look and I had to help girl find foundations that would hide their flaws.
Their flaws were either
1. Natural human function of the largest organ we have
2. Cover up the damage they were continuing to do with all the latest products.
I pleaded with parents to not buy little girls skin care than I knew would destroy their skin barriers. But isn't that the point? So when they grow up they need products to help cover up or heal the damage they have caused.
They paid so little I couldn't even afford most of the products in the store even with my discount.
We would have to clap when told we made the company billions of dollars in profits.
It really pushed home the oppressive costume that is "femininity".
I have a lot more to say but I'm droning now.
But I have to say I understand now why people do not want to engage with radical feminism because it "ruins" everything. Everywhere you look you realize the psyops being ran to keep woman consuming and enjoying their bonds.
I think Trump has been on his period these last two months
It's so demotivating to think about how gender double-sided the political system is; can you imagine what the media reaction would be if Clinton or Harris had been elected and had crashed the stock market, surrendered to Russia, spent millions of taxpayer money golfing at their own properties, and had flipped back and forward on tariffs and regional agreements with the America's most significant allies in the first two months? It's unthinkable.
Idk but generally that is not how radical feminism works.
Wasn't the whole "scientific proof" of transgender identities being that trans people supposedly have a brain wired like the opposite sex (or I guess for nonbinary people, just atypically)? I saw that notion all over the place and actually believed it for some time. How else can it be innate if it's not related to brain structure/chemistry?
You can acknowledge gendered socialization being a thing and still prioritize educating women over men. It's much less of a uphill battle since feminism is already in women's interest more. If it benefited men equally, I don't doubt that radfems would put as much effort in educating men.
I would also think about separatism and the 4B movement kind of like a strike as well.
And still dude, what are you proposed solutions? Completely dodged that one.
We used to make fun of people for saying "not all men" it was beautiful
Just remember. There is no such thing as a fake geek girl. There are only fake geek boys. Science fiction was invented by a woman.
