he carried you from the car and into the hotel where he knew you’d be safe, he didnt trust the hospital and he knew it wasnt serious enough to merit him going to one. 

“elevator.” he instructed to Poe as he carried you into it, going up to his room and setting you gently onto the bed. 

“is Y/N quite all right?” Poe asked with concern.

Kovacs paced around the room, kicking a chair, “it was a stupid mistake. i wasnt watching… the guy came up behind.”

“a mistake im sure you’ll correct next time sir.” Poe said, trying to help. 

“wont be a next time, i wont let Y/N be a target again.” he sighed, sitting down in a chair next to the bed, head in his hands while hs stared at your unconcious body, “not again.”
