I Like Grim‘s Eyes Very Much, They Are VERY VERY Pretty…

I was playing Book 6 and I got to that part where Idia was saying what he discovered about Grim and then I was asking myself,

What are the things we know about Grim? Did we find something now? And now with Book 8 coming I'm even more curious about his lore and involvement in the story ( I don't think we saw Grim eating Malleus' blot stone ... yet )

We actually didn't learn anything new about Grim in book 7. Here's what we do know about Grim right now:

Birthday, age, and homeland are unknown.

He is 70 cm tall.

He's considered a first year student in Class A, seat 9.

He can breathe fire, though he tends to lack precision and his magic is sometimes described as "crude" by other characters.

He started the Gastronomy Club. Grim generally enjoys eating, with his favorite food being canned tuna and not disliking anything in particular (seeing as he'll eat even blot stones). His best subject is also listed as "eating".

His pet peeve is taking notes; he is not depicted as particularly studious.

His talent is escaping.

His best subject is Animal Linguistics.

He has a close relationship with Yuu, Ace, and Deuce--especially Yuu. Grim seems to be anxious when the topic of Yuu going home and leaving him alone in Twisted Wonderland comes up.

Crowley calls Grim a "direbeast", but it's not certain what Grim actually is. He does, however, take offense to being called a tanuki (or weasel, in EN).

He likes attention.

His dream is to be a world-class mage someday!

He is unable to recall memories of his family or his past, but reports the following: "I remember wakin' up hungry and alone. It was real cold. I was waitin' out there for someone to come get me for ages. What happened after that again? It's all so foggy..."

Idia confirms in book 6 that even though Grim doesn't seem powerful, there is complex ancient magic layered over each other. This makes it difficult to track blot accumulation. There seems to be "thousand year old" ancient sorcery involved.

Idia theorizes that Grim possesses a curse or a blessing similar to his own family's.

And while we haven't seen Grim eating Malleus's blot stone on screen, there's still definitely ominous implications! The current popular theory seems to posit Grim as a sorcerer's apprentice from long ago.

Fun thing that has been cooking in my brain; horror game gacha rpg. Like a game that is set up in that there is only at max 10 characters and they were toss into the story of they are lost in a forest/sewers/mountains and they do not remember how they got here with the plot of them trying to return home fighting off monsters and the environment. But the catch is that the more they wonder and try to figure out why they are there, the more they realize they do not remember their lives before the setting.

The gacha portion is each card? acts like a memory piece for the related character, giving reason for their actions in the story. For example, one card of character A is them at the birthday for their child, which is why they are protective over the younger characters. Or another is card is character B at their work as an entomologist, which is why they know so much about the critters that are chasing after them. The thing is, that is the only way you can get any information about the characters.

The characters can be set as a homescreen for the game, and you could raise their friendship level to improve their skills for the rpg element. The narrator/player's role in this? You are the reason you all are there, but like the rest of the cast, you do not remember why just that it is your fault.

currently thinking a LOT about LQG x SQH… specifically because of that one post someone made about SQH being a good wrestler…. LQG annoying SQH enough or maybe just catching SQH when he doesn’t have his PiDW equivalent of coffee and has been up for days for some rush orders, demanding a fight, SQH says FINE. NO SWORDS THOUGH. and lqg is like?? and then is manhandled to the ground so fast. and is like. solidly unable to get up for a sec.

i imagine SQH has built up a lot of strength and it’s the kind thats built from like. working. not working out exactly. moving shit around the peaks all the time as a disciple and then also he’s aware of how dangerous it is for him being a traitor and all that… he’s bulky, but it’s hidden away hehe.. sleeper build…

ANYWAY I JUST. WANT TO SEE LQG PINNED TO THE GROUND. UNDER SQH. MAYBE IN AN ARM BAR OR BETWIXT THE LEGS. DO YOU FEEL ME.
