Moshang establishing a weird degree of intimacy (for two people who are at least ostensibly not dating or anything) even early on in their relationship due to having known one another since their teens and both being, y'know. Weirdos.

Like Shang Qinghua has definitely dressed Mobei Jun. Toweled him off after a bath and put clothes on him because Mobei Jun is royalty and he just expects servants to do that, and Shang Qinghua was like, well, okay I guess we do this now I guess this is happening, and decided to just enjoy the view.

Mobei Jun prefers to sleep in beds that smell like Shang Qinghua. It just feels safer, and no he's not interrogating that impulse very deeply. He has food tasters who check his food for poison, and he's heard the term "bedwarmer" thrown around he's pretty sure this is just the same idea, a bed that's just all sterile sheets which don't smell like anyone but himself feels isolated and vulnerable and unsafe. So he'll nap in Qinghua's bed on An Ding, and whenever his servants wash out his sheets at his palace he'll drag SQH over and work him to exhaustion and then make him "warm his bed". Shang Qinghua thinks maybe Mobei Jun prefers a warm bed at night, the way that some humans prefer cool sheets? Like an ice demon thing? Whatever, his king's bed is still more comfortable than his, it has soft pillows and furs and everything so he's not looking a gift horse in the mouth.

Shang Qinghua has treated Mobei Jun's wounds. MBJ used to watch him like a hawk at first but after years of this happening with zero issue he stopped bothering, so between that and the "sometimes dresses his king" thing Shang Qinghua can basically move his limbs around and put stuff in his hands or even his mouth and smear ointment on him and etc and MBJ will just go with it. Sometimes Shang Qinghua worries about the amount of access Mobei Jun's servants apparently have to his person, but honestly none of the regular staff could actually get the same kind of uncritical compliance out of him. Just Qinghua.

Mobei Jun also sees no issue with physically picking Shang Qinghua and moving him around. He will literally throw him at problems he wants solved or carry him to situations he needs examined. Shang Qinghua is very portable and it expedites the process of him begging not to be asked to do something, to just toss him at it and make him sort it out right away instead.

Mobei Jun would also steal Shang Qinghua's clothing if there was any remote chance of it fitting him. Throwing his cloaks and things onto Shang Qinghua works fairly well though, it makes them smell like him which is still good. Shang Qinghua is rarely bold enough to steal Mobei Jun's clothes on his own, but if it's especially cold and no one else is around he's been known to grab part of Mobei Jun's cloak (often while he's still wearing it) and wrap it around himself.

I think the thing that everyone gets wrong about Mobei Jun in au’s or whatever is that he’s always extremely unromantic when approaching Quinghua. Mobei Jun in canon has been doing (to his own knowledge) a very public and socially acceptable courting ritual to the object of his affections, for years. He does this without getting outwardly frustrated towards Quinghua, and when he gets told it is not in fact being received well he stops immediately. He thinks he’s being incredibly obvious, which he is, to everyone except SQH.

Mobei Jun is effectively, a danmei version of Mr. Darcy.

His little maze of complicated social rules render him unbelievably repressed and unable to directly request Quinghua’s affection, but he loves that little hamster man so much he debases himself to flirt with him in public. He knows they’re of drastically different social standings, but doesn’t give a shit. This man has probably been planning their wedding since he was a teenager. If rom coms were a thing in the demon realm he’d be watching them and taking notes like a wannabe martial artist looking at UFC tapes.

That being said, in a modern office au or whatever, Mobei Jun would probably leave a huge bouquet on Quinghua’s desk every morning. However he does this without signing the card and it ends up stressing SQQ out because who the hell are these for????

I am very excited about people getting into the anime.

Been watching The Apothecary Dairies and I gotta say, that’s gotta be one of the most feminine shows I’ve seen in a while (and I say this as a compliment). I didn’t realize how much I’ve needed to watch something very obviously made by and for woman, that isn’t “girl power” bull. My Lord, it’s such a breath of fresh air.

I’m not really smart enough to explain what I mean by this, but if you got the time to watch it, the anime is 9 episodes atm, and the dub is at episode 7 at the time of me writing this. Go give it a watch

He's scared, confused. Why does his henchman need to leave?

What's so wrong with their life here? They've got lots of friends. Look how popular the Great Grim is, so Yuu must be popular by association! Lots of tasty food to try. They even got a dorm all their own!

Grim's gonna be a great mage one day and he's gonna be the best mage ever and have as many cans of tuna as he wants for being number one!

Would Yuu stay if he shared his tuna? He'll give them lots! If he's #1 that means he can just get money easily, so he'll be able to pay his henchman lots of money and have a nice place to live. The nicest house they can imagine, it'll make even Leona jealous!

Because he's the Great Grim right?

If his henchman is leaving, so who's gonna cuddle with him now if they come back from yet another overblot fight? Who's gonna patch him up and cheer him up as they help clean up his scrapes. Mind you he had less from the last fight they were in, that means he must be getting better right?

Yuu, who loved him even if he was snarky brat, who would always help him with his homework, not that he needed help mind you, but Grim's such a great boss, that of course his henchman wants him to succeed.

He really picked a great henchman! They're were great! They were pretty smart. Maybe not as smart as Grim, but they had better grades then Deuce at least, and they could cook! Sure they burnt the Mac and cheese once or twice, but he thought the burnt bits were still tasty.

But his henchman and even the great grim himself learned how to cook! He was such a a great boss he even warmed up a can of soup for his henchman who was sick in bed. He remembers hearing soup was good for when you're sick from Trey.

Would they come back if he tried harder? He'll try extra hard not to fall asleep in Trien's class. He'll try not to wiggle so much on the broom during Vargas' class. He's sure he'll get their combined grades up. Because even without magic they're like, the best option for a henchman here in this place. Nobody quiet like them here.

What if they get hurt? Yuu said his purring always made them feel better. Does he need to purr more? Purr harder? He'll try harder so they get sick less. He'll listen better so he gets in less fights and Yuu's not stuck apologizing for his behavior. Yuu could be a little mean sometimes. Okay, Yuu wasn't really mean they were… Um what was the word? Firm? Strict? Oh, they were firm. But they were nice.

Nobody here was as nice as Yuu was. Look how many things they did because they cared about everybody here so much! Because they cared about him so much they almost died and fought the almost end of the world just to bring him HOME.

Home. NRC was his home. Yuu was his home.

Yuu was, no matter how mean he got. No matter when he scratched them and acted nasty. He… He even hurt his henchman. Yuu's arm was injured because of him.

But no matter how bad things got, Yuu was always there to make sure he had a home to go home to.

Ramshackle's home because Yuu is there.

If Yuu's gone. Then where does Grim go? What's the point of being a great mage if the one person who stuck by you this whole time just goes away? Please don't leave him.

Re-design of my Ramshackle dorm uniform. Sorry to the people who liked the old design but I lied, that was not the final veriosn. I realized the outfit didn’t fit the setting of ramshackle… not victorian enough… it looked more like a witches outfit or something.

This one looks simple but I like it, not too busy and easy to draw in any scenario I plan to draw him in. This is the dorm leaders uniform, dorm student is coming…. Soonish maybe who knows
