I'm sure part of the reason why some people are resistant to Silver being twisted from Aurora is because he's more active (at least in Book 7) and is generally taking on a more 'hero' role than Aurora has.

But what if I told you there's a 2003 Disney Princess game for Gameboy Advance that has Aurora being the hero of the story of Sleeping beauty 👀

There's a non-zero chance that Yana might have looked into this game since she used Disney's Aladdin in Nasira's Revenge from 2000 as inspiration for Najma

In the game, Maleficent targets the three good fairies and Aurora takes it upon herself to rescue them with magic she borrowed from them (and animal friends), all while she's being hunted down by Maleficent.

When she frees them, she's encouraged to rescue everyone. She also fights against Maleficent (with the assistance of the three fairies) and fulfills saves herself and her kingdom (rip Phillip he's nowhere to be seen)

So not out of the realm of possibility for a character based on a princess to do something more active in a reimagining story. This might've been an excuse to yap about a game I just started to get to play again on an emulation I found online lol

But I remember playing Aurora's story very vividly as a kid. I don't think it's bad to take previously static characters and give them more agency to do things, even if their first iteration was still good. Silver being princess-coded but still an active character is fun to me at least.

When Klaus is asked if his brother is there and he looks to side and laughs and says they’re gonna have to be more specific? That scene is so funny to me. Ben is just laying there on the bed and winks and Hazel and Cha Cha have NO clue. It’s hilarious.

Also when Klaus was using his powers to talk to all the people Hazel and Cha Cha killed and Ben tells him he did a good job, in the background a few moments later Ben high fives a ghost beside him. I also found that to be really funny.

my personal opinions about MK1 men

Smoke is not a sweet little baby puppy boy, and personally I don’t think he’d like to be called a “good boy” I genuinely think he’d look at you like ‘what..😐’

Johnny is not this hardcore dominant man who’d call you a slut while having sex, yes, he may be this cocky guy, but he’s also a grown ass man that makes goofy movie references during poor timing. I just genuinely cannot see him calling is s/o anything degrading.

I know I make jokes about Bi-Han saying shit like “oh I could fix him!” But being completely honest that man is not fixable. He sees no genuine point to romantic relationships. He might get married and have a child but for the sole purpose to carry on his legacy. (Wouldn’t be surprised if that child followed in his footsteps and let him die like he did his father.)

and please, PLEASE the infantilizing grown ass men just because they’re genuinely good people needs to stop 😭 I’m sorry y’all.

Like I personally love Smoke and how much of a good person he is but please he’s like 29 I’m pretty sure, he’s not some soft uwu baby. 💀
