AU: Anakin turns on Palpatine when he reveals himself as a Sith so Palpatine tells him that Anakin will be the cause of his wife's death. Anakin, because he's in a terrible state, feels this is true and so after he kills the Chancellor he runs away to Tatooine because he's convinced he should suffer.
He becomes Beru Whitesun's problem, when she finds him crying at his mothers grave one morning.
Meanwhile - by the time Obi-Wan comes back from Utapau the Chancellor is dead, Padme is in labor and Anakin is in the wind.
Both the Jedi and the Senate still have to finish and clean up the war( since the Separatist leadership is still alive) deal with the Clones rights and roles post-war, and basically try and put the huge mess of the Republic back together.
Plus Obi-Wan has to help Padme with her suspiciously powerful Force-Sensative twins while the Senator refuses to stop trying to work while in a state of Force Exhaustion from giving birth to said babies as a non-Force-Sensitive (because why not?)
Beru Whitesun, meanwhile, has a highly skilled and very miserable Jedi Knight on her hands, and she decides that she may as well put him to Work.
Anakin had a dream once, that he came back and freed all the slaves.
And he tends to solve a lot of his problems with his lightsaber. So. Anakin goes on a very swift and violent rampage and the slaves overthrow Tatooine and make a treaty with the Tuskens over their ancestral lands and in a way this is how Anakin makes reparations for the slaughter of that Tusken village. Now, Anakin is not suited to lead a government, so his job after - when he's not moping on Owen and Beru's farm, is fending off attempts by the Hutts to retaliate or reclaim Tatooine.
Anakin learns things about the sheer span of his power, fighting alone, not all of them good. He learns things about himself too, kneeling at his mothers grave. It becomes a sort of meditation, sitting there in the sands, confessing everything to Shmi Skywalker's ghost.
Obi-Wan, deputy Head of the Order, semi-co-parent to Luke and Leia Nabberrie, eventually tracks reports of conflicts near Hutt Space to his Padawan and finds Anakin on Tatooine, alive if not entirely well.
It takes months of trips back and forth to Tatooine to convince Anakin to at least come to the Temple.
Anakin refuses to meet Padme, still terrified and convinced that he will be the cause of her death.
He has no choice about meeting the Twins, who heard Obi-Wan found their father and snuck across Coruscant to see him.
Luke is very shy, actually meeting him. Leia beats him with a couch pillow for making her mother sad.
Anakin just cries, which makes Leia very awkward and Luke tries to console him.
Anakin feels too far from what a jedi should be to stay, but Obi-Wan convinces him to at least call Padme - which Anakin does, once he's half the galaxy away again.
They have to get to know each other again, and this is different than the first time, harder and slower and so much more real than their frantic, desperate feelings at the start of the war.
Ahsoka eventually returns to the Order and rises to Knighthood. She spends most of her career thereafter specializing in rescue operations and finds a little bit of passion for teaching classes at the temple.
By the time the Twins are ten, Leia's favorite Jedi is Master Windu, who knows very little peace because of this. Luke is definitely his mothers son, and while he finds a great deal of peace in the temple when they visit Uncle Obi-Wan, and he's good at meditation, he spends most of his time in Senator Amidala's office, and shadowing her in diplomacy.
They work a lot with Senator Fox (who knows over half the Senates dirty secrets, not that anyone dare accuse him of blackmail) on Clone Rights and Resettlement, and Luke's unofficial occupation is to be very cute and innocent and hold Senator Fox's hand when it seems like there might be a murder to prevent.
It's a devastatingly effective tactic.
Tatooine is a free, established world, and there isn't much trouble there now - especially not with Trooper Town just beyond Mos Espa, ready and willing to defend their little bit of peace.
Tatooine needs a Representative, and Beru makes Anakin do it. He's still not entirely sure how, by the time he's landing on Coruscant and there is Padme, welcoming "Ambassador Skywalker" and there is a little of that fear, still, but he also feels so, so foolish for ever running away from her.
Anyhow, Leia becomes a Jedi (apprenticed to Master Windu) and spends a good deal of her adolescence and early adulthood trying to beat the snot out of her father with her lightsaber. By the time she's good enough to actually win, the desire has largely gone away.
Luke succeeds his mother as Senator Amidala of Naboo, with special permission from the current queen to borrow his mothers royal title.
Anakin and Padme re-wed, this time with all their friends in attendance, this time knowing really what love is, and what it takes to make something of it.
Anakin eventually follows his wife into Retirement, though in truth neither of them really settle. They're barely middle aged and there has always been a bit of fire burning in both of them.
It's not ever trule easy, life after war, but it is good.
Obi-Wan visits their home in the Lake Country at least once a year. He trains a new padawan every decade and there isn't a single one of them that Anakin didn't save from a spot of trouble at least once, in spite of insisting he didn't like any of them for one reason or another. There also isn't a single one of them that doesn't inform him that Obi-Wan always talks about him, and there isn't a single one of them Anakin doesn't provide with "secret" advice on how to handle being Obi-Wan's padawan.
Part 3/7 - Previous / Next / First
Track: ‘Soldiers’ - Otherwise
Wolffe didn’t understand what was happening when Plo Koon was suddenly handing him his lightsaber. And he still couldn’t quite put the pieces together when he noticed Cody go flying through the air under Padawan Tano’s guiding force. But he definitely understood the tightness of fear in his chest when Rex and Cody ran directly at the Sith Lord who had just beaten one of the strongest Jedi he knew to exist.
“Son,” Plo Koon's voice cut through Wolffe's fear, a sense of calm in his storm, and dragged Wolffe back to the Kel Dor and his offered saber. “Your family needs you.”
Wolffe's world shifted to an odd halt as he considered what was happening. Thoughts that haunted him flooded through him, bit at the edges of his mind with doubt. What was he going to do? What could he ever do?
Wolffe has felt useless before, has lost everything in an instant. He has watched his brothers die often enough to wade constantly in hopelessness. And he remembers fruitlessly hugging his brothers close when they were all just cadets, wishing for an option other than the trials for war. There were so many times Wolffe, the supposed strong and intimidating commander he was, had only felt pointless and worthless. So many times he had cried to the galaxy to give them all something to hope for, something to make all the pain worth it.
And yet, Wolffe realized in a bright instant, he always had it. In his stillness he remembered how Plo Koon called him son, and meant it as much as Wolffe did calling Plo his Buir. How after each battle he would come back to the 104th and be greeted with just as much warmth from his brothers as respect, finding strength in each other. That at the end of the day, it was his family that had always kept him fighting, striving to stay hopeful and survive. It always had been and always will be his family that makes this life worth living, and he would do anything and everything to keep it that way.
Wolffe locked eyes with Plo Koon for a moment just long enough to convey everything he knew the Jedi could already see clearly. And as the world came crashing back to him he took the saber without an ounce of hesitation.
Just want to remind everyone of this
I’m always a slut for ‘Anakin decides not to murder children and it saves the galaxy’ AUs, but I’m also always a slut for ‘Anakin decides not to murder children and it doesn’t save the galaxy’ AUs, partially because I’m sure Palps had several contingencies in place for Anakin not falling, and partially because the concept of baby Luke and Leia being raised by their Mom, Dad, Uncle Obi and Aunt Soka while they run the Resistance kills me.
There are so many incredible directions it can go, but my personal favorites are:
Leia gets a lightsaber and becomes a terror of the galaxy, eventually killing Sidious through sheer bloody-minded stubbornness and no little amount of vigorous stabbing.
Luke and Anakin bond over piloting while Obi-Wan is sick in the back of the transport.
Obi-Wan and Padmé getting drunk and taking the piss out of Sidious. (“Have you— *hic* have you seen his hair?” “Atrocious.” “Fuck, and the robes.” “No sense of panache whatsoever. I was never so unstylish when I wore robes.” “Yes, you were very hot.” “What?” What.”)
Ahsoka, Leia, and Luke prank wars. Blue milk in the pillow is how it starts. Three imperial bases burning while R2 cackles in the background and Padmé and Obi-Wan yelling at them is how it ends.
R2 and Luke are Best Friends. R2 and Leia are Mortal Enemies. Anakin takes Luke’s side. Obi-Wan takes Leia’s. Ahsoka and 3PO form their own team. Padmé privately decides that she can’t be bothered and lets her family have their stupid feud while she establishes another rebel base.
Hondo Ohnaka frequently kidnaps Luke and Leia and tries to get them to join his crew. Leia scams him every single time in the hopes that it’ll get him to back off. It just makes him try harder.
Han Solo shows up when the twins are 16 and both of them get horrible crushes on him. Anakin hates him for it. He shows up again when the twins are 22 and gets a horrible crush on both of them. Luke thinks it’s kind of sweet. Leia is not impressed. Anakin still hates him.
Luke goes out on a routine supply trip and comes back two weeks later with a whole covert of Mandalorians, including one named Din to whom he is very attached. Anakin blames Obi-Wan for it (“It’s your genes. Your stupid, defective, mandalorian-attracting genes.” “Luke and I aren’t even related!!” “You did this.”)
Padmé ‘three outfits a day and no less’ Amidala, Leia ‘braids and floor-length bodycon dresses’ Skywalker, and Luke ‘Chanel boots’ Skywalker, are fashion icons. Anakin, who is almost always covered in grease stains, is consistently mistaken for their escort and/or servant.

The nature of Lexie and Meredith's relationship can be up for interpretation in this one, there's no overtly sexual or romantic things happening, but because I was imagining them as together I've tagged it as such, do with that what you will.
When Lexie has her breakdown after the shooting incident Meredith helps her be able to relax and fall asleep. Also Lexie is autistic
Read on ao3
When Meredith stepped into the room she heard soothing melancholy music pouring from the tinny speaker of Lexie's phone, Jenny Owen Youngs, the same albums Meredith had heard her listen to on repeat after she and Mark broke up. Meredith bent down towards the hospital bed to see if Lexie's eyes were open.
"Lex, hey, how you holding up?" Meredith's gentle voice added to the floaty sensation of the drugs in Lexie's system.
Lexie gave a small sad smile and looked down. She didn't need to say the words out loud, they'd both been a hell of a lot better.
"I heard you had a rough morning." Meredith took a seat on the bed next to her. Lexie nodded looking up at her sister with brown shining doe eyes. "Can I touch you?" Meredith's hand hovered near Lexie's face, waiting for another nod before smoothing it over blond locks.
Lexie put her hand on Meredith's leg, giving an appreciative squeeze. Now more than ever she was relieved to have someone who knew how to be comfortable in silence, and who understood that sometimes when things were too much Lexie couldn't even figure out how to form the words with her mouth, in this case the drugs made it even worse. Her big sister was the only one she could even bear to have around her in this state. Lexie whimpered as Meredith removed her hand and pulled away.
"Hey, don't worry I'm not going anywhere, I'm just going to look at your chart." Meredith grabbed Lexie's hand off her thigh, rubbing her thumb over the back of it as she flipped open the chart with her free hand. "Discussion with patient suggests sleep deprivation may have been a catalyzing factor or possible primary cause of the incident. Well, I could've told them that much."
Lexie raised an eyebrow.
"I can hear you puttering around at all hours, you're not as light on your feet as you think." The teasing comment brought a smile to both their lips. "Though I might not be sleeping so deeply myself these days." The moment of joy melted back into the coldness of their reality. "Want help?" Meredith crossed her arms in an x over her chest, the sign they developed for Lexie to non-verbally ask for deep pressure. Something Lexie had looked into after a somewhat surprising tip from Cristina.
Lexie nodded emphatically. Meredith's heart warmed and broke for the precious creature before her all at once.
"OK, straighten out, like a log." Meredith ordered. "Don't give me that look, just do it. I have an idea." Meredith quickly slipped into the hall to grab a fresh warm blanket, once it was draped over Lexie she started wrapping it around Lexie's legs and tucking it under her torso. Seeing her little sister sigh with relief before she even took her place spooning her, drew a chuckle from Meredith. Once she had Lexie wrapped in her arms, hugged tight against her chest, leg wrapping to rest over Lexie's hip, she found herself letting out her own tense lungful of air, demonstrating just how elevated her own parasympathetic nervous system was despite her even keel.
"Psst Meredith." Cristina's whisper roused a glaring Meredith from heavy slumber. "Hey wake up, it's time to go home, I'm driving."
"I can't just leave her!" Meredith whispered angrily.
"Mer if you don't keep it together and take care of yourself you're gonna punch your own ticket to the psych wing." Cristina slipped into a more normal volume in order to be heard over the truck engine caliber snoring now coming from Lexie. "Then who's she gonna have to take care of her? Just me."
"I'm not sure if that's a threat or a sweet show of support." Meredith raised an eyebrow mockingly.
"Yeah well if you end up in psych you'll take just as long as sleeping beauty here to get cleared for surgery, so let's go, chop chop."
"She doesn't even have her weighted blanket. What if she freaks out and can't calm down?"
"Wait here." Cristina slipped out of the room and returned a bit later with one of the lead aprons used to protect against xrays. "Heavy as balls." Cristina handed it to Meredith to drape over Lexie's legs within reach in case she wanted to pull it further up. Meredith printed a clear note:
Had to go home so I could be ready for work. Text me at any hour and I'll be there in a flash, will check in with you as soon as I get in.
Love, Mer
Then she folded like a card so it could be propped up in Lexie's field of view, before leaning down to plant a kiss on her forehead.
"I hate to leave her like this." Meredith watched her thoroughly sedated sister snoring and dead to the world.
"I know." Cristina grabbed Meredith's hand to say what she couldn't with words before guiding the still groggy Meredith to the car.
for the sharing a bed prompts, 35 and Malvie? (or whoever you feel inspired to write!)
Absolutely! Thanks for the ask, Anon!
35. “I wanna be big spoon this time.” “But you’re tiny.”
Mal bites down on her lip as hard as she can, trying her best to stifle the giggle buried in her throat. She swats the relentless fingers digging into her side, ones with pretty, long red fingernails that only make the tickling feel even more merciless with every deliberate jab.
"Eves, stop it already!" Mal gasps, grabbing at the girl's wrists and shoving them behind her. “Cease, desist! Uncle!”
Evie pulls back long enough so Mal can roll over and face her. She’s gasping deeply, her laughter coming out in breathless wheezes, and Mal can’t stop herself from smiling a little at the sight of Evie’s brightly flushed cheeks and wide smile.
“Ok, ok, have you had your fun now?” Mal quips. Evie nods silently, still trying to catch her breath. Mal pulls at one of her hands, bringing it close to her chest and stroking it lightly with her thumb.
“You know, if I didn’t love you so much Princess, that sense of humor of yours could get you in some big trouble.”
“Oh come on, Mal,” Evie whines, leaning in to peck her lips lightly. “I was just having a little fun. Besides, your skin is so soft, it’s hard to resist a little tickle when I’m hugging you like that.”
Mal rolls her eyes at that, and Evie bursts another giggle as she buries her face into her girlfriend’s neck, her nose scrunching as purple strands brush her skin.
“Whatever. Then it’s my turn next. You know, you’ve got soft skin too, Eves.”
She nudges in a little with her nose, letting it graze Evie’s jaw and prompting more giggles. Evie pulls back then, eyeing Mal and perking a curious brow.
“So, you’re saying you want to be the big spoon, then?”
Evie smirks when Mal nods back vigorously, planting a hand just over Mal’s shoulder so she can lift herself up. She hovers over Mal and leans in close, letting their noses just barely touch.
“But, babe,” she coos, smiling wide when Mal snorts at her nasally tone. “You’re...tiny.”
“What?!” Mal’s eyes blow wide with shock, and Evie lets out a quiet chuckle as she boops Mal’s nose with her finger.
“Oh stop, you know you’re still the biggest baddie at this school,” Evie scoffs, letting her hand cup Mal’s cheek. “You’re just, the littlest...biggest baddie, too. And that’s not a bad thing!”
Mal thrusts her hips up, knocking Evie back in a fit of laughter. She’s quick to overtake the bluenette, swinging a leg over her hips to straddle her and taking her wrists in both hands.
“You’d going to pay for that, princess,” she growls lightly, and dips down to pepper kisses up and down Evie’s face and neck. The girl’s laughter comes in short bursts as she gasps for air under Mal’s assault, bucking half-heartedly as if she’s trying to throw Mal off of her. But not really.
“Fine, you win!” Evie groans, whipping her head from side to side until Mal finally relents and sits back up. She doesn’t let go of Evie’s wrists though, and just continues to stare down at her, grinning triumphantly.
“I win? So, I get to be big spoon?” she declares as she lets herself flop to Evie’s side.
“Yes,” Evie snickers, turning her body to face Mal. “You can be my littlest...biggest spoon.”
Mal groans and smacks a hand to her face, dragging it down to fix a glare at Evie’s too-proud smirk.
“Fuck, you’re lucky you’re so cute, you know that?”
Evie hums happily, leaning in to plant a soft kiss on Mal’s lips.
“Hm, yes. I’m lucky you’re mine, too.”
Mal sighs and reaches out to stroke her fingers through Evie’s soft blue strands.
“You know just what to say to get yourself out of trouble, don’t you?”
“Yep.” Evie admits, making sure to pop her p. “You taught me well, big baddie.”
Mal chuckles and shoves at her shoulder, pushing forcefully to turn Evie back around. When her back is to Mal, she makes a show of slinging an arm and leg over Evie’s body, pulling her close and kissing her cheek from behind.
“That’s big spoon to you, Eves.”
Send me an ask!
For katieisagoddess who asked for Kalex to AgentSuperCorp. Kara and Alex are together, but no one knows except Eliza and J’onn. They go on a date one night, and Lena sees them (she’s not mad that Kara didn’t tell her about being Supergirl) doesn’t quite catch that they’re leaving a date, asks Kara out on a date. Kara and Alex share a look, tell her that they’re actually dating, then offer to have her join them.
I own nothing. Another prompt fill!
Words: 3626
Alex stared down the women across from her.
Why did the stupid alien have to be so damn attractive?
More importantly, why did their resident billionaire philanthropist also have to be so attractive as well? Lena was looking between them as if she were watching a tennis match.
Between the two of them, Alex was glad she had her training to fall back on. She would lament to Kara over the situation later. The billionaire in question was her best friend after all.
