THE BEGINNING
Note: the sketch colours do not have any significant meaning and is mostly part of how I differentiate multiple characters on the same page.
Here are the original 2021 sketches that are part of the Farore's Spirits. This is a redrawing of the original Farore's Spirits which I did tease about back...on January 2022 but then stuff happened. And it has been sitting in my WIP folder since then. :')
This is for a headcanon / fun idea of the nine Heroes gaining an animal spirit companion which represents their strongest attributes. And they are all are originally "blessings" from Farore, though this may changed along with what Wild's role is with the new context from TotK. Hence why Wild's not included in this set.
Will I ever come back and finish these off? Mayhaps. It will be while though... :D
I was just thinking about Dannys hatred for Christmas and how funny / odd itd be if Amity's citizens start noticing how snappy and overly emotional and aggressive Danny gets in December and start to collectively think it's because he died in December and is still having a hard time processing it.
I’ve seen Danny being the ancient of space pop up a few times. A lot of it interprets that as the ancient of outer space, but I propose he has dominion pver the concept of physical space. Clockwork has time, Danny would have space, making them the counterparts for each other
So, imagine if you will, Danny only recently coming into his spatial powers retreating to his lair in the Ghost Zone. It’s too dangerous to have uncontrolled spatial distortions just randomly appearing in the human world.
His lair is an extension of himself. His spatial powers extend not just to himself, but to his lair. It connects to liminal spaces. Walking through school hallways after hours? One of those doors leads to his lair. All night diner with flickering florescent lights and you’re the only customer? Carefull going to the bathroom or you might just end up somewhere else. Closed down building, or even buildings that never were there. Sometimes at just the right time, places just exsist, and they all lead to Danny’s lair. Inside is an MC Escher esque labyrinth of rooms, hallways, tunnels, ever shifting as their connections to the human world alter and shift.
Enter the Batfam
I pick Tim for this. He sees a building he’s never seen before on a street he’s very familiar with. He checks the address.
“Hey Oracle? Is there a 147 Becker street?”
“No, Becker street stops at 144 before merging into Roosevelt.”
“That’s what I thought, but I’m there, I see it right in front of me.”
“What?”
Tim is too curious for his own good, and probably a bit sleep deprived. He enters the building only to get turned around and not be able to find where he came in from. It wouldn’t be so concerning if the building didn’t seem to go on and on.
Next thing we know, Danny finds Red Robin wandering around, completely lost in his lair. The tricky part is getting him out around the right area and time, because space and time are connected, and when one is weird, so is the other. They need to take the scenic route, much to the impatience of Red Robin. He eventually gets him close enough: Bloodhaven. Tim can always get a ride back from Dick, then he looks at his watch.
It’s only been 30 minutes. He had been wandering for hours, yet only 30 minutes had passed.
Que confusion and shenanigans when somehow, yet more Bats wander into Danny’s lair
artificer is kinda like the opposite of jesus
Stupid AU idea:
Wild leaves his era before he can tell Flora abou the portals/other heroes. Dink, sensing an opportunity, tries to attack Flora while she's unaware her hero is gone.
Flora sees a person who looks like Wild but with grey skin, black hair, and red eyes, and since she already knows about the dark armor, she just assumes that Wild's finally entered his emo phase.
Dink is expecting her to cower in fear of his appearance, a twisted version of the hero of this era. Instead Flora just goes "Oh hey Link, I like the new look! 🥰 Now come taste this soup I just made!"
And Dink is so caught off guard that? He just does?? And by the end of the night he is so, so confused, but also full of delicious soup and high off of the first friendly contact he's ever had.
He keeps coming back, and Flora ends up rehabilitating him. (She may or may not have caught on to the fact that Dink is not Wild about halfway though her first time meeting him, but decided to keep quiet and see where it went)
Gotham has a Waffle House that has been almost untouched for a few months now. Sure there have been a few fights inside, but that's no big deal. The big deal is that their cook has stopped plenty of attacks from robbers and even well known rogues.
Many of the staff and regulars also believed that the same cook was also a cryptid of some kid with how quiet he is, how cold his presence is, and how he seemed to just appear out of nowhere with no sound being made. But who cares? His waffles are the bomb.
Danny is thankful for the steady night job, but would very much appreciate it if the Bats stopped watching him through the windows.
