Hi hi!! If its not much can i request our lovely bois diluc, zhongli and xiao with an s/o who just suddenly cried. Like tears just started rolling down their face and they dont know why. It happened to me while i was reciting for my class and i honestly didnt know if i should be sad, laughing, or embarrassed😂

Note : I'm sorry if this is so late, I took a break but this request is too good to ignore. And I actually relate, I'd often just cry out of nowhere but not really bawl, just sit silently crying and it's a bit concerning. I hope we're both okay though, anon. Thank you for sending this <3

Warning/s : slight angst? idrk, just you crying out of nowhere and the boys being concerned and/or confused, some fluff though cause they're sweet and uhh pls tell me if i'm writing xiao right,,,

DILUC

🜂 You were eating Dinner together, you kept quiet, given how your day was so mundane that nothing interesting happened.

🜂 The only sound to be heard in the Winery's dining room was your cutleries clinking against the plates, and then it happened.

🜂 You were just innocently chewing on your Sticky Honey Roast piece when you felt something wet and hot trail down your cheeks. You drop your fork to hold your face.

🜂 You couldn't stop, why were you even crying? You are just eating peacefully after such a boring day and now you're crying-

🜂 Diluc, alarmed at your sudden break into tears, got up from his chair and knelt in front of you.

🜂 "Is everything okay, Love?"

🜂 Worry painting his worn-out face, you forced a grin and broke into giggles. Confusing your lover further.

🜂 “I’m sorry I don’t why I’m-” You didn’t get to finish when he wrapped his arms around you and you spilled more tears, this felt weird. 

🜂 Your chest was beginning to heave and some heavy feeling was settling on it, but in your mind you thought you were fine? 

🜂 But at the moment you just continued breaking down in Diluc’s arms, he held you so tightly and even ran his gloved hands up and down your back in an attempt to soothe you.

🜂 “I- I don’t even know why I’m crying.” You confessed in between sobs but he didn’t laugh like you expected, it was a funny situation but you also wonder why this happened.

🜂 “Regardless, this must be coming from somewhere.” He replied in such a soft tone, you barely heard him through your own sniffles. “Just let it all out, love. We can finish dinner later.”

🜂 Oh right, you were in the middle of eating dinner. With his words of assurance, you just stayed there, glad to be able to hold him close in this moment and breathe in his scent that was of campfire and grapes.

🜂 You still don’t know why you just burst into tears like that but this isn’t so bad.

ZHONGLI

☄ It happened while you were cooking. It was a peaceful afternoon, Zhongli cutting up ingredients next to you. You always cooked, but he insisted on helping every time.

☄ He can’t really claim to be the best cook out there, but he didn’t want to just sit around waiting for you to finish, and so you let him at least chop ingredients up.

☄ Just as you dumped the minced Jueyun Chilis into the pot, your vision began blurring with the tears clouding your vision, and you froze.

☄ What’s happening? You stood there, empty plate in hand in front of the heated pot trying to register what’s happening and Zhongli was quick to notice.

☄ He turned to you, and seeing your tears, he dropped his knife to make you turn to him and inspect you. Did you burn yourself? Why were you crying?

☄ You were too shocked at your sudden burst into tears that you let him raise your hands so he can check if you’ve injured yourself. Seeing you are fine, he’d look into your tear-stained cheeks and feel a poke at his heart.

☄ You didn’t cry often. Actually- he’s only ever seen you be mildly upset once, and it was when a merchant from Snezhnaya tried to scam Zhongli when he realized that the man was not going to even try to negotiate prices.

☄ You raised your voice a bit higher but it was still not quite angry.

☄ So to see you crying in front of him was a shock. He’d try wiping your eyes with his thumb, knowing he doesn’t have Jueyun Chili juice on it or he might make your crying worse.

☄ “Did the Chili get in your eyes, Dearest?” He asked, and you shook your head, still crying uncontrollably.

☄ “I don’t know why- I just-”

☄ He nodded with a sigh. “Perhaps something happened some time this week? Or month? Can you recall anything?”

☄ Ignoring the steaming pot next to you, you tried to recall your memories of this week and can’t think of anything relevant to your current state, so you shake your head to say ‘no’ again.

☄ “Often, humans would experience inconveniences and brush them off. These feelings tend to pile up and most likely, you would spill.”

☄ It didn’t make sense to you, but he’s a god who’s lived thousands of years maybe he’s right, so you just nodded and leaned into his touch. You’re aware you don’t freely express any feelings other than joy

☄ but you didn’t expect it all to stack and just come crumbling down.

☄ “How about we finish cooking and we can talk about this further during our meal?” He offered and you were still crying but nodded. 

☄ It was weird, but you’re glad he’s understanding enough to actually try and help give you an explanation for such an odd occurrence.

✾ Poor Yaksha has no idea what to do. He was sat across you, drinking tea.

✾ You both enjoyed each other’s company and often sat in silence while you drank tea, he liked the comforting warmth you’d provide

✾ You didn’t even have to say anything and he’ll be set for the rest of the day

✾ Holding the cup to his lips, he’d freeze when he saw the tear making its way down your cheek - 

✾ It was one single tear but it alerted him.

✾ But what confuses him further was the fact that you seemed as equally confused as him, wiping the tear with your lips parted.

✾ “What- “ you didn’t get to finish your own question.

✾ “Who hurt you?” He asked.

✾ You dismiss how quick he was to assume that someone is responsible and you shake your head, tilting your head back to halt the upcoming tears threatening to spill.

✾ This is very unbecoming of you - he’s never seen you in such a state and so he has no idea what to do or say

✾ “No one - I’m - I don’t even know what’s going on.” And the confusion seemed to pile into your already existing burden that the tears kept coming and

✾ there was no stopping it so you just sat there, wiping your cheeks and putting Xiao in a very awkward position.

✾ A few people watching you two and narrowing their eyes at him, as if he was the cause of all this?

✾ “I’m fine, I’m sorry - “ You shake your head. “This used to happen to me all the time as a kid, it’s been a while since I cried out of nowhere.”

✾ “Is that normal?” He’d ask, wondering if it was a mortal thing.

✾ “I don’t know, but there’s no helping it.”
