Slugterra
The Shane Gang taking Stalagmite 17 back in canon Slugterra: "All right guys, we tricked Saturday and escaped Blakk. The day is saved and Stalagmite 17 is no longer under Saturday's control!"
Slug It Out 1 Eli: "I beat Saturday and his henchmen! time to Blow up stalagmite 17"
I was going to translate the other tombstone but then I discovered that it is THE EXACT SAME BUT UPSIDE DOWN
This is genuinely kind of upsetting like its cool that they used the official language but why bother if it's just going to be gibberish?
(side note: if the staff blaster they add at 25k likes isn't Mr. Saturday's staff I might start tweaking)
Hi dawg im the daily sleade x junjie editor
HIII :D
Warning: this post is kinda long
one thing I like about the Slug It Out games is they introduce some pretty cool original characters but since I'm pretty sure Spirex is the only one that became canon, here are some other ones I think deserve more attention (side note I will be sticking to the ones in SIO1 because their images are on the fandom wiki)
First is Minotaurus, my personal favourite who is introduced alongside Turtleton and Spirex (the names make it pretty clear which one is which) in the creature feature level of the judgement day chapter (basically just a cooler version of Mission: Improbable) where they work as a trio of hired mercenaries. Minotaurus has since been added as a SIO2 skin but the other 2 have not.
Next is Hudu Vudu, who is introduced in the first level of the same chapter (titled tricked) and is the one to capture Eli and bring him to Stalagmite 17. and is apparently Mr. Saturday's henchman. He has also been added as an SIO2 skin.
Up next is Doom Bot. It's a really cool robot not much else to say (there is also a Doom Bot 2.0 which is all black and has the Blakk Industries logo instead of an hourglass but the wiki doesn't have a picture of them). Like many of the others they have been added as a SIO2 skin.
Last and largest is Commander Croc. He appears in the second last level of the Ships Ahoy chapter (titled The Docks) where he attempts to stop Eli from getting some treasure. He makes a return is SIO2 with 3 smaller crocodile characters named Broc, Roc, and Smoc.
Slugterra sure loves to make cool characters and do nothing with them but that just means that since these guys aren't technically canon we can do whatever we want with them. Want to make one of them your oc? Go for it! Nobody can stop you >:D!
Omg I thought I was the only one that had this theory
(side note- while not as prominent of an example as Loki or the slugs in "What Lies Beneath", Saturday's Cryptogriff snitches on the Shane Gang's presence in Sawn Of the Slug so it clearly has some form of intelligence/loyalty outside of being a feral goblin)
Something that's always tickled my brain is how most ghouls are feral and uncontrollable, with two major exceptions. Loki and all the slugs in "What Lies Beneath," with a focus on Burpy.
Loki is the first ghoul we can see that is capable of self-control. He even behaves like a normal (if slightly more malicious) slug. The only real clues we get that he's a ghoul are that his "illusion" showed up on camera and that he wouldn't touch Doc.
The other slugs, especially Burpy, in What Lies Beneath, behave similarly. We even see Burpy act like himself, just more unhinged. I have a theory on why this is. With Burpy, he was willing to undergo the ghouling process and didn't flinch once. My theory is that if a slug is willing to be ghouled, it can resist the mind-altering effects of Dark Water to a degree. I imagine the process is very traumatic for the poor guys, so maybe that mindless savagery is a coping mechanism for what was done to them. Since Burpy and Loki didn't fight it, they came out fairly unchanged, at least in the personality department.
Anyways, thought over, do with it what you will.
