Today is my ONE YEAR anniversary of submitting to wardrobe_remix!!!
Where:
Office, maybe Park for Lunch, Cinco de Mayo Salsa
Why:
Today is my ONE YEAR anniversary of doing daily photos and posting them to flickr. To celebrate, I’m wearing a new thrift find I picked up yesterday. The weather is gorgeous, I’m in love with life. Yay rah.
When:
March 31, 2008
What:
Blouse: vintage, thrifted Cardigan: cheap from HK Jeans: Topshop (on loan for a meeting) Flats: Target
Where:
Meeting with a buyer, in the office
Why:
Because colored denim is fresh! I am loving purple and green for summer/spring. These are on loan from the office. When doing something reallyboldkeep your other elements rather neutral. Like a crazy printed blouse. You’re sensing the sarcasm. Right?
No matter how you mix it up, just don’t get delusional and think you’re rainbow bright. Keep your colorcard minimal.
What I Wore:
When:
March 15, 2008
What:
Hat: gift of Katie the Milliner Scarf: self made with some remnant fabric Sweater: Betsey Johnson Belt: vintage, thrifted Dress (as skirt): Plenty by Tracy Reese Tights: We Love Colors Shoes: Clarks
Where:
Brunch with m’ladies in the East Village, thrifting afterwards
Why:
March is said to come in like a lion, but today was much more lamb. The early spring months are the hardest for me to get dressed. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping and the high is 52 degrees. While it does feel warm in contrast to the sub-freezing temps, lets be real people, its still not sunny and 70. But today was just a day I felt like being more spring than winter. So I mix elements of both. I started with a summery Plenty by Tracy Reese dress. Bare legs/arms still aren’t gonna cut it for me so that means tights and a sweater. The hat is a great thing to throw on when you’re a bit chilly and pop off when you’re a tad too warm. And I’m obsessed with scarves, so instead of something warm and fuzzy, I put on this huge scrap of fabric that I hemmed around the edges. I also love belts for sort of being the bow on a present- wraps the whole look up. These shoes (Artisans by Clarks) feel vintagey to me, but are insanely comfortable to walk (and run!) in. Not pictured is my latest spring buy- a thrifted, vintage trench (which always look effortless and chic).

What:
Scarf: Ebay Tee: Target Jeans: Joes Sneaks: Converse
Where:
Office, Baseball Game
Why:
Tonight I’m going to watch the Mets with my friends. Nothing kills the baseball mood like a pair of stilletos. I love heels, trust me, but I think they look stupid at sporting events. And I’m allowed to wear Converse to work, so that’s what I’m doing. I started there and worked my way up. Brown denim instead of blue and a crazy printed top with some orange in it. And the pink doesn’t really ring “sports fan” but I’m really not a diehard anyway.

the daily grind
Why:
I am cold. And its raining. So that makes it pretty easy for me. I think thick tights and a jersey dress are a lot more comfortable than jeans (especially when I’ll be behind a desk all day), so that’s where the outfit began. Extra socks add to the warmth factor, as do the jacket and scarf. And rainboots are a no-brainer. Drip-Drop-Drip: here we go!
