My entries for the Doctor Who Tumblr Tumbler Tumblr Contest! I knew I could make a believable Tardis and Dalek, so I decided to see how itty-bitty I could plausibly make them. They’re each a little under a half-inch tall, sculpted out of polymer clay, and painted with acrylic paints. The stalks of the dalek are metal pins that I cut and/or bent. 

For curiosity’s sake, if anyone could just let me know whether this counts as one or two entries, I’d be much obliged.

All in all, a day well spent!

April 22, 2008 Earth Day!

What:

Office, Drinks/Dinner at Habana Outpost

Why:

I am a peace loving hippie. I am happy its Earth Day. I felt like this newly acquired skirt has a free loving vibe, so that’s that. And after missing all of that glorious weather last week, I am desperate to show some skin. I love these shoes.

What:

Scarf: gift from my BFF Rachel, from Thailand Dress: La Vedette Tights: We Love Colors Shoes: thrifted, Beacon’s Closet

Where:

Supporting college athletics, boozing in Manhattan

Why:

Thanks to a pitcher of sangeria and a limited amount of time (20 minutes) to get ready, I threw this mess of stuff on.  Rachel had just given me the scarf as a belated birthday present from Thailand. I fell in love with it, so decided to work it into the outfit. The purple dress was still hanging in the front of my closet after wearing it last Sunday night. Bingo! And then then tights? That’s my school pride. Plus that match the newly thrifted shoes I wanted to wear.  If my while ensemble hadn’t scared my friends enough, I put on my leopard coat to cheer on the Hoosiers (next year? maybe?)

Where:

the daily grind

Why:

I am cold. And its raining. So that makes it pretty easy for me. I think thick tights and a jersey dress are a lot more comfortable than jeans (especially when I’ll be behind a desk all day), so that’s where the outfit began. Extra socks add to the warmth factor, as do the jacket and scarf. And rainboots are a no-brainer. Drip-Drop-Drip: here we go!
