Actually I do think you're automatically a misogynist if you defend men like Johnny Depp, Justin Baldoni, Neil Gaiman, Liam Payne, etc.
There's been some discourse going around that tries to connect Neil Gaiman writing about problematic things and him being awful to mean that everyone who writes that kind of thing is also awful or should be placed under suspicion.
Correlation is not causation. You could just as easily blame the fact that he wrote about mythology and fairytales. It has the same amount of weight as blaming dark subjects.
The truth is, there have been tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of authors who write/have written about dark/problematic/complicated subjects who have never hurt a soul and who never will.
Now, you could say people who have endured trauma and abuse are more likely to write about dark subjects. I'm not positive but I think this bears out in statistics. But again, the vast majority of people who have suffered abuse and whose past abuse informs their writing do NOT go on to perpetuate that cycle of violence.
I know we all wish that predators were easy to spot. But if they were, they wouldn't be predators. They'd be criminals operating in broad daylight.
The disturbing fact is that truly bad people who operate for a long time are incredibly hard to spot. They survive by manipulating those around them into providing cover for them and carefully craft personas to make it difficult to accuse them of wrongdoing. They will also use fame and money as a shield and choose victims with the least ability to fight back.
Using what happened in your crusade against dark topics and your push for censorship in fiction is incredibly disrespectful to the victims and risks making writers part of a witch hunt.
It also makes it harder to spot actual predators because it perpetuates the idea that these people have easy tells. They do not. That's what makes them monsters.
In retrospect, can we pick out certain themes in his work that aligns with the allegations against him and hints at who he really was? Yes, but hindsight is 20/20. Someone else could have written about the same subjects and been a saint of a human being.
This stratospheric level of egoism is mindblowing and disturing to me.
As someone with diagnosed with PTSD, no, being deceived by an author you never met is not trauma. You can’t call every uncomfortable or painful experience trauma. You’re making the word lose impact and meaning.
"He violated us too" No. How tonedeaf can you be? How tactless? Making someone's else rape about you? No, you haven't been violated. He didn’t put his fucking hands on you. Those two experiences are not even remotely comparable, and the fact that you think they are is seriously worrying. You mentioned talking to your therapist about it— yeah, you really should.
"Time to grieve" no one died. The actual, real victims deserve to grieve the life and peace of mind they lost.
I'm not saying you can’t feel betrayed by an author you loved for a long time, but the least you could do is not make someone's else rape about you.
ai does not belong in creative spaces. period.
I think the situation around Blake is getting really disgusting. I just saw a tiktok of someone saying that that Blake had an affair with Justin while they were filming the movie.
I don't care about how you fell about Blake or Justin but we are talking about a sexual harassment case and even imply this is so gross and disrespectful for victmis.
And to make it all worse the video i saw was from a woman. A woman is using a disgusting sexist (victim blaming) argument against other woman.
Also both parts are married and have kids. If you are not gonne respect the marriage, respect the children.
One more thing about the Blake Lively case
A actors job goes beyond just filming the movie/series. When they are doing the interviews ro promote their projects they are working just like the interviewer and often times they don't know each other on a personal level.
Now i don't know if at the time when the interview was filmed Blake had publicly announced her pregnancy (because in 2016 i was 11 years old and didn't speak english).
So lets look at this situation: you are working, you met another woman who is also working but the first thing she says to you is "Congratulations on your little bump"
1- i believe this is unprofessional
2-She did not say "Congratulations on your pregnancy" she specifically commented on Blake's body (and all, famous and not famous woman, specially during the 2010's, is allowed to not like having her body talked about when they are at work)
3- Rebember when we're taught to not comment on a pregnant woman's body? Let's bring it back
Also why did she keep the video of "the interview that made her want to quit her job" for 8 years?
By the way, since Lilia experiences the entire timeline at the same time and not linearly, she's known her coven for her whole entire life, all 450 years of it—even if she doesn't realise it until the end.
They've always been there, because the flow of time is an illusion. They've always been with her. And as she reads her tarot spread, she realises it.
They're her family.
They always have been.
The gaps finally filled it.
She didn't die in a fake reality to save a group she'd known for 24 hours.
She died to save a group whose presence she's felt in her heart for hundreds of years.
Whose presence she lacked, like a memory she couldn't grasp. Nostalgia she couldn't quite place anywhere. Nostalgia for something you've never even had.
Because she had them.
In the future—she always had them.
And she was always going to protect them.
And even in death—
She's still with them.
Still fighting to protect them.
1. Meghan Markle already expressed fear of being stalked
2. A lot of cooking tv Shows are filmed in sets or stage houses (do you really think celebrities are going around letting the world know how their houses look like?)
3. Considering how fast people found the stage house where the show was filmed (i think i saw it the same day as the trailer or the next one) i take it as proof that not doing it in her house as the smart choice
Also a stage house is protecting both her and the kids privacy as not showing where they live or what is their window view so stalkers can't find them
4. Meghan is a public figure. She *CHOOSE* to be a public figure 1st by becoming ab Actress and again when she said yes to Prince Harry, the kids did not
5. Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are 5 and 3 they have no idea what a public figure means and don't even know they are Royals (There's a story on how Prince William and Princess Catherine only told Prince George when he was 7, why would the Sussex do it diferent?)
6. A Cooking show where you hang out with your friends is not a original idea, there's millions of this type of shows. Meghan did not copy either a Black or a White woman by having her show
Also for the comments i have seen on Twitter : Feminism is about woman having choices. They can choose if they want to be "homemakers" or "boss babes" just because Meghan's new show is more home-y it doesn’t mean she is not a feminist anymore also there's a big chance that the show its being made to promote her Lifestyle A.R.O brand (and having a Netflix show it's still a form of Working)
(Also if you’re one of those people who fell the need to send me hate on anon everytime i post about a woman that the Internet hates -> unless i'm in the mood for arguing, which i'm not, your ask will be deleted. This is my blog i share MY OPINION here if you don't like the block button is free and way less work)
Sometimes I think I hate the SPN finale and then I remember that Jensen initially fucking hated it so much that they got Eric Kripke to gaslight him into thinking it was good. Only for him to immediately go off and create/produce/act in a spinoff series after the show ended all so he could fix the shitty writing. No one hates the SPN finale like Jensen Ackles hates the SPN finale.
It amazes me how some people will look at the Blake Lively situation and be like "yeah what happened to her is awful and she is obviously a victim here" but then they see that JB used (to attack Balke) the same PR Firm that JD used on his abuse case and the same people will say "Yeah but Amber is totally the abuser. Did you not see the social media posts during the trial?"
It just shows to me that nothing of this is ever about suvivors and victims and at the end of the day misogyny always win
the blake lively case really shows how much women hate other women. and i specify women bcuz lets be real, women are the ones who primarily consume and distribute celebrity gossip. its fun to gossip about them and pay attention to the drama, but it becomes gross when its clear a lot of women who consumes it has such internalized misogyny that they redirect that hate onto random female celebrities. i was not above this thinking as well. i used to parrot the same mindset of, “i can say this about her and its acceptable bcuz she is more privileged than me.” but a lot of women and men use this to avoid getting called out for saying vile things. u could easily go on celebrity gossip threads and see how ppl are shaming actresses for having plastic surgery, the perceived actress being a mean girl based “on vibes,” or ppl immediately accepting an actress being labeled a diva despite it being notoriously used against actresses to blacklist when they were victims to directors/producers.
im overall not saying blake lively is perfect. she and ryan did apologize for their plantation wedding that happened years ago and have actively been trying to be more race conscious (they have a film program for ppl of color from a poorer background to have opportunities to work in the entertainment industry). obviously, just like justin baldoni who has done a lot of good humanitarian things, doesn’t shield them from criticism, but its a double standard. ppl are more forgiving or refused to believe men can do wrong if they have a nice guy image. or they come up with every excuse under the sun on why he should be protected and that blake is an evil white lady trying to destroy a lesser-known actors career.
there is no such thing as a perfect victim. and it’s disappointing seeing other women so eager to jump on the hate bandwagon despite claiming they knew better with amber heard and johnny depp. i feel a lot of ppl who consume celebrity gossip project their insecurities onto them or view some celebrities like the mean girls in school that bullied them and now act as the same bullies with harassing celebrities for everything, and then cry when said celebrity either kills themselves or ironically preach mental health.
the double standard is even more glaring seeing how male celebrities, (tho lets be real WHITE male celebrities) get a fair better treatment and even worshipped simply bcuz they’re hot and any wrongdoing is forgiven while the same ppl are holding onto every mistake a female celebrity has done to demonize her and see her as tainted forever. its like the worst crime for a woman is to be a bitch while a man can do whatever he wants and ppl will forgive him
TV Shows that i love but have terrible finales:
How I Met Your Mother
Scorpion
Supernatural
I think my social anxiety is getting worse because i'm finding harder to even post things on my social media profiles where i don't even post my name or face (Twitter or even here where i dont even post on my first language so i'm 100% sure no one who knows me in real life have a way to find me)
you guys need to stop letting your hatred (or love for that matter) of certain media/celebrities/whatever get in the way of your ability to feel compassion, empathy and sympathy.
sorry but celebrity culture and some of you guy's hatred for it have made some of you get way too comfortable with bullying, encouragement of violence and other unacceptable actions.
Girl (gn) pick a lane. You are either "Morally superior" than the rest of the internet or you are using AI "art"
Taxidermy really freaks me out, not so much when they do it in museums but it really freaks me out when normal people have it in their house. I don't know why but its depply unsettling
jensenackles: Quick little update on set. We are well on our way here and having a blast. That’s what it’s all about! Happy Friday folks. Stay tuned for more. #Countdown @primevideo (x)
Some parents really need to understand that you don't need to have millions of followers to overespose their kids
Because why do i need to know that the son of this random woman who show up on my FYP have not poopped in over a week?
I am incapable of seeing a couple posting selfies kissing and not finding it cringe
ao3 turns 15 today
reblog if youre older than ao3
(there's a lot of people asking about this, but the legal age to use social media is 13, except in few countries. so yes, there are people here under 15)
Saw someone on Twitter today, who is doing something (i'm not sure what) to bring T*mmy back on 911 and in their post they said that he has been a loved character and their favorite since season 2.
I hope that this person is part of the group who only started watching after the kiss episode last season and have not yet watched the older seasons.
Because i can't imagine anyone actually liking him in season 2, where he shows up for 2 episodes where his only job is being a racist, sexist, homophobic person who is part of the group making the lives of two main characters hell just because they are not white man.
There's nothing better than seeing an actor you loved for ages being happy in his new projects
The fact that he is (was) Literally dating the same person that Abby dated and saying this
"Went crazy and took up some himbo half her age" the absolute hypocrisy and misogyny in this statement as if he isn't also dating someone half his age. As if Abby wasn't struggling to take care of her mother. Tommy kinard they will never make me like you
The thing that gets me its that Ted spent 9 seasons obsessed with Robin and still, even after dating her, Barney is the one who told him she was from a rich family.
At that point Ted had spent almost a decade "In love" with Robin and didn't know this about her, Barney did. But i'm supposed to believe that Ted and Robin are endgame
What is called when you're homesick from somewhere you never went?
Why stan Twitter is worried rigth now about a white, rich, straight man celebrity more than they are worried about the people who will actually suffer the next 4 years?
Lilia kinda of went to the road for like a second before writing the coven's names ( the scenes of her screaming), so maybe its a circular situation: She wrote the names she saw on the road but the women were on the road because Lilia said they were the coven.
Or maybe Billy interacted with each member before because they were always meant to be part of his coven.
Okay, so the Road itself was a manifestation of Billy's power. But was his power behind the formation of the coven as well? Lilia wrote the names down in her little premonition before they actually got onto the Road. But Billy/William was the thing that connected all the witches because he interacted with them in some fashion before. So were they really meant to be a coven, or was that also Billy's power?
Taking Nicky during the night also means that Agatha didn't had to see him die.
Her last memorie of her son is putting him to sleep, no pain in him, he was just sleeping in his mother's arm. Istead of having to watch him dying and going with Rio

Before i started watching 911 i thought Buddie was already 100% canon because my first interaction with the series was a edit on my Tiktok that started with the elf scene from season 2 that made it look like they were together.
I know now that it was probably one of those AU's edits of what if they were raising Chris together, but at the time it looked to me like just a normal edit of the show.
