Times Bucky Barnes Protected Sam Wilson
i’m going to hold your hands when i say this and i am only going to be kind about it once: ai does not belong in fandom spaces, ever. not in writing, not in art, not in video, not at all. it does not matter how bad you want to see your favourite characters kiss, or how much you need a bit of help finishing a chapter, or whatever.
make friends with artists. commission somebody. learn to draw yourself. ask for a beta read. try a writing partnership. fandom spaces are communities, so engage with them! it is about the journey and the fact that we all love something enough to create and build together about that thing.
spending 30 seconds to kill a tree and get an AI to push out some soulless empty piece of “content” is antithetical to the entire point of being engaged with fandom, and if you’ve taken to doing this you should really reconsider if you belong in these spaces with the rest of us.
But can we agree that Bucky Barnes pretty much took his super villain origin story in First Avenger and said “nope”? He watched the kid he constantly looked out for and defended and tried to cheer up suddenly become not just a hero, but THE hero. He watched himself suddenly become unnecessary for his friend to get by. There was clearly some resentment going on exacerbated by the heavy amount of torture he underwent. It was a similar situation to Loki, only Bucky had always been in the favored role and suddenly loses it. This would be the point that most characters would be seen simmering and brooding and either betray the hero and only redeem themselves by death or let their envy get the better of them and decide to take on the hero. And Bucky just…doesn’t. He has his moment of private hurt and pain and he regroups. His friendship is more important than his pride and he seamlessly steps aside to take a supporting role. He never flinches. There’s never any moment where you even see him THINK about betraying Steve. There’s no scene where he pauses before he helps him. Nothing.
Which is why HYDRA turning him into a monster is even more horrific. Because Bucky had already rejected going that route on his own. They had to MAKE him one. They had to force him. It would have been so easy for Bucky to have become the villain…and he doesn’t even consider it. Bucky is a victim in so many ways.

Thunderbolts spoilers
"I don't know why people think they did Sam dirty with this. Lmao. People in universe don't see this team as a real team, because it wasn't assembled by Sam. Literal outrage for nothing and not understanding what was literally in the damn movie. "
What are we not gonna do is act af if there's no pushback in real life against Sam being Captain America and leading the Avengers. That Mcu stans aren't weird when it comes to Sam.
Tantrums were and are still being thrown because Steve gave Sam the shield and not Bucky. Articles were written about it. You had interviewers asking why Sam and not Bucky. They don't care about how Sam is more qualified and Steve and Bucky both want him to have that mantle or how he's popular in-universe.
Sam was villainized through tfaws by fans for not babying Bucky and not babying Walker. They see these white men who didn't treat Sam well and yet write essays about how they're poor little meow meows and Sam is not worthy being Cap because he was supposedly mean to them.
Sam was never being given a fair share by fans and the media. There's constantly articles about Chris coming back. He's always judged on a higher standard. Because if Sam was the one leading a government sanctioned team or talk foundly about his time in the military you'd get essays slagging him and his movie off.
Marvel has been sidelining Sam even after he became Cap. They barely promoted him as such in the past 4 years and now they aren't letting him form his team first .
Cause now, after Bucky and Walker those racist fans now have the Thunderbolts they can use against Sam. People are already saying that they prefer them to Sam's team before we ever get to see it.
Since Thunderbolts came out there's been posts on Twitter and TikTok hating on Sam, one with 8k likes calling him a loser. Calling him petty. Asking how Sam can do this to "Bucky and Natasha's sister." Saying Bucky or Walker should be Cap. How * are the real Avengers.
That's why people are upset.
