Hi, sorry if this has been asked before, but do you have any advice or resources you could point me to about being a spoonie or having low energy and practicing divination, like tarot? I've been having a hard time lately energy-wise, and wanted to ask

Hello! I have a couple posts that you may find helpful :)

First of all, this masterpost has all of my spoonie witchcraft posts linked in it:

All of my spoonie, disabled, chronically ill, mentally ill, accessible and low-energy witch posts! These are meant to supplement medication

This post is all about divination:

Bedridden witch: Divination edition
Tumblr
Ideas for practicing divination while bedridden: Varying in energy + mobility required - please don’t push yourself, hopefully there’s optio

This one features some divination with limited movement:

Limited Hand Mobility + Witchcraft
Tumblr
For folks who have limited mobility in their hands due to pain, weakness, shakiness, or anything else. These are a range of ideas, not all o

Those two are my main posts that have divination in them but I do recommend perusing the masterpost I linked above, there’s a lot of resources there and many of them have contributions from some fabulous blogs!

Talk to your house

Your house is a sentient being with it’s own spirit and soul. Some people identify this spirit as their household deities or friendly house spirits. But some people have altogether forgotten how important the spirit of their house is. Talk to your house. Houses that have been ignored tend to be dull, tired and susceptible to hauntings and negative energies.  So talk to your house, listen to its aches and pains, say hello. Tell it that you come in peace, tell it that you are there to listen to it speak. Be grateful to your house. And watch the energies of your home transform themselves into joy.

🦋Astrology Notes 🎨🫧

✨Capricorn placements are very calm in many situations. A lot of times they give you a very relaxed vibe. They can calm you down quickly and remain calm even in stressful situations.

✨Cancer placements can make a situation stressful very quickly, especially if they have a Leo in their chart. They get dramatic.

🩵Neptune in 1st house-they can quickly float off into their own world and pretend that nothing else exists but only them and the world they have created for themselves. They can quickly remove themselves from bad energy and things personally.

🍬Taurus moon will show their possessiveness, intensity and emotions only when they feel comfortable showing them. They can feel that this person receives their energy. That's why they work best with water moons (especially the cancer moon because it gives them the energy to express their emotions in a comfortable way), these moons are in a way the most similar.

🌶️About mars signs -mars energy shows our energy, anger, reactions, drive. You will get along best with Mars, with whom you have similar energy, for example: mars in sag & mars in leo - both are fiery, both can be impulsive and react faster without hesitation, but at the same time both want to solve things immediately (both are mars that show energy through actions). Meanwhile libra mars and sag mars will not work so well together. Because libra will be too passive aggressive and will avoid conflicts.

🛼Sagittarius placements know how to enjoy life and just be in the moment. Nothing else is really as important as the moment they are in. Sagittarians can often be too much for some people (especially when they fall in love), then they will do everything for the person and many times they can feel too much for the people around them.

🏹People who has water moon are very emotional and will always perceive things around them emotionally. Their feelings will always be hurt first. Even if you don't want to feel it, you will - cuz this is water moon. They have very good intuition, especially the Cancer Moon (they know how things will unfold, how a person feels), that is, their personalities and them. And they always know how to distinguish when something manifests or when something is meant to be so. Pisces moon- feel very well the subconscious energy of people, their thoughts. Scorpio moon- they feel very well when someone is lying or not being honest. They also feel who they can trust and who they can't.

💋When it comes to revenge, many times capricorn risings can be much more cruel than scorpio risings. When you do something bad to them, they have no mercy. They have their respect and will not take you back into their life. Once they're done with you, they're done forever. You can not just come back into Capricorn life like nothing has happened. When they cut you off. They will cut you off forever. There is no anything between. Because they have self-respect that is so high that it's hard for them to forgive you.

🪐Saturn shows karma and how people get it. The sign in which you have Saturn shows what kind of karma others will get from you if they hurt you. For ex.: Saturn in Aries- people will become uglier, when you see them you won't have to believe it's them. Their willpower will begin to decline, they will no longer have energy, they may lose the interests they had before. They will lose self-confidence and will never find someone as supportive as you. Saturn in Gemini- they will lose communicativeness, thinking, commitment. They will never find their best friend again. Their karma will be that they will never be able to talk to you again.

🌸People who usually seek an escape by smoking weed or any substance are people who have planets in 12th house in fire sign. Why? because fiery signs have to literally put their energy somewhere. And with that, they feel that they have wandered away from the world. They are often more prone to impulsive actions.

⚡️The chart ruler is the planet that rules your Ascendant sign, so it gives further information about what it feels like to be you. For instance, if you have Aries rising, you might identify yourself as a warrior- Mars in your chart will then show what kind of warrior you are and what provokes you to fight. For ex.: mars in 12th house it means that you will fight for people who are poor, unseen, injured or in need of help. Capricorn rising you might indentify yourself as a strong, mature and responsible person- Saturn in your chart will show in which area are you like that. For ex.: saturn in your 3rd house- you will always stand behind the words you say, thoughts, opinions. You will have mature thinking.

🍒The house with Leo on the cusp will be ruled by the Sun and will therefore be key to your identity and self-development.

🥂Certain signs respond to change more favourably than others. In particular, the signs of Taurus, Cancer, and Scorpio are conscious of security in one form or another, and will tend to hold on rather than let things flow.

🪴Lots of fixity in a chart suggests a tendency to stay with what you know. They have a hard time letting go of something.

🎸Jupiter is our place of vison, growth, inspiration and our style of keeping the faith. Jupiter in Aries faith is boldly expressed, which probably makes you a confident decision maker. Jupiter in Scorpio your faith is usually hidden many times you only believe in things that are proven. Jupiter in Cancer your faith often depends on your family or people close to you. Jupiter in Aquarius you tend to be quite rebellious when it comes to faith.

🛁🎡The difference between Sagittarius and Virgo is that sagittarius don't mind if people are talking about them if they do something wrong. They actually don't like to stick the rules. They like to be free in the things they do and they're pretty much optimistic and careless about things that other people say to them or about them. For example, if you have I don't know your own shop and you have working hours from 9 a.m to 5p.m. But you won't care if you are late 5 minutes or 2 hours. Virgos are different. They like to stick to the rules. Especially when it comes to work, they always want to be ready for work do things that are acceptable. And they don't want that people talk bad about them. Virgos actually care a lot what people say about them. So if they have working hours from 9 a.m to 5 p.m. They won't want to be a minute late.

So the difference between Sagittarius and Virgo is that Sagittarius takes life carelessly ,optimistic freely, they just live in the moment and they don't care about other people -what they say and think about them. Because they are confident in their own. They take criticism very well. While virgo have anxiety, even if they just have a thought that people would judge them or say something bad about them. They just don't like to be criticized or being judged by people and they take things in life so seriously, that sometimes is overwhelmed them. But that's also why they could fit perfectly together because Sagittarius could help Virgos to be more free and to have less anxiety and to be more positive in life.

🧺When you look at your daily life, you have to look in your sixth house. If you have air sign in 6th house this mean that you're a daily life will always include mentality ,multitasking. All the things at once especially if you have Gemini in your six house, you cannot do the job that is the same everyday. If you have water sign than this mean there will always be something in your every day that is emotionally connected to you or others. If u have earth sign than this mean you will seriously work on your things everyday and your everyday will include work but also u can you can enjoy nature or going to the nature or doing something that includes flowers, gardening especially if you have taurus in 6th house. If you have fire sign this means that your every day will be exciting, fiery and always spontaneous.

🫧Hope u find something interesting in this post🫧

lilith through the houses ✨🥀

Lilith Through The Houses ✨🥀

Lilith in the 1st House: Here, Lilith influences your self-image and personality. It’s like having a shadow self that’s rebellious and defiant, constantly challenging the way you present yourself to the world. You might struggle with anger or impulsiveness, feeling like an outsider even in your own skin.

Lilith in the 2nd House: This placement touches on your values and possessions. Lilith can manifest as an intense, sometimes destructive relationship with material things and self-worth. You might experience deep-seated fears about security and survival, or find yourself obsessing over possessions as a way to fill emotional voids.

Lilith in the 3rd House: Communication gets a Lilith twist here. Your words might carry a sharp edge, often veering into taboo or controversial territory. Misunderstandings can be frequent, and you may feel like your true thoughts are too dark or intense for everyday conversation.

Lilith in the 4th House: In the realm of home and family, Lilith can stir up deep, unresolved issues. This placement often points to a tumultuous home life or unresolved trauma from the past. You might feel like an outcast in your own family or struggle with a sense of belonging.

Lilith in the 5th House: Lilith’s presence here can bring intense, sometimes tumultuous experiences in love, creativity, and pleasure. Romantic relationships might be fraught with obsession, power struggles, or taboo elements. Your creative outlets could also be a source of inner turmoil, expressing the darker aspects of your psyche.

Lilith in the 6th House: In the house of work and health, Lilith can manifest as a rebellious attitude toward daily routines and responsibilities. You might find yourself in constant conflict with authority figures or grappling with issues around control and perfectionism in your work or health routines.

Lilith in the 7th House: Relationships are a battleground with Lilith here. Deep fears of abandonment or betrayal might surface, or you could find yourself drawn to partners who bring out your darkest qualities. Relationships may feel like a power struggle, where intimacy is intertwined with control.

Lilith in the 8th House: This house is already about transformation and deep bonds, but with Lilith, it goes to another level. You might have an intense fear of loss or betrayal, or find yourself drawn to dangerous or taboo aspects of sexuality and intimacy. It's a realm of deep psychic wounds and transformational healing.

Lilith in the 9th House: Beliefs and higher learning take a dark twist with Lilith here. Your belief systems may include taboo or unconventional elements, and you might feel a deep sense of alienation in your quest for truth. There's a potential for fanaticism or an obsession with dark, forbidden knowledge.

Lilith in the 10th House: In your career and public image, Lilith can manifest as a fear of authority or a desire to rebel against societal expectations. You might feel misunderstood by the public or struggle with a public persona that feels inauthentic or oppressive.

Lilith in the 11th House: Your friendships and social circles may be impacted by Lilith’s darker energy. You might find yourself drawn to social groups that are unconventional or taboo, or feel like an outcast among your peers. Your hopes and dreams could also be tinged with Lilith’s intense energy, leading to a sense of disillusionment.

Lilith in the 12th House: In the realm of the subconscious, Lilith can bring up your deepest fears and insecurities. You might struggle with feelings of isolation or be haunted by fears that you can't even articulate. This placement often indicates a deep need for inner healing, as Lilith brings to light the darkest corners of your psyche.

Ways to use Tarot for Mental Health Maintenance

Someone (I won't mention them because I didn't ask permission first) asked me to make a post about the ways in which tarot can be helpful for mental health maintenance. I've been thinking about witchcraft and health in general and also about tarot and health. Anyways here is the post!

Disclaimer: This will not be a post about how to use tarot to predict mental health outcomes. This is also not a substitute for help from a licenced or certified mental health professional.

Using tarot for when you don't know what you're feeling

There are times when you might feel something but don't always know what it is you're feeling or why you're feeling that way. I always reference Blanche from the Golden Girls when it comes to this feeling, she called the feeling "magenta". You can simply ask two questions, "what is this feeling?" and "why am I feeling this way?" This might be helpful for anyone but especially those that attend mental health therapy. Having at least some insight into your feelings to share with a therapist.

Tarot to ease your mind about potential outcomes

Even the most calm and collected person can have moments of doubt or worry about the outcome of a situation. Instead of asking your cards for a concrete outcome, ask the cards the following question "what is the best possible outcome of this situation?" If the card is what you consider a positive card then meditate, pray, and/or do spellwork to encourage that outcome. If the card is one that makes you feel uneasy or one that you'd rather not have as an outcome for a situation. Ask the cards again "what can I do to change this outcome?" or if you feel that this is not applicable to the situation "what can I do to find peace with this outcome?"

Tarot for self reflection

Tarot can also be a great tool to gain a deeper understanding of yourself, you can ask yourself some of the following questions.

What are some of my strengths?

What are some of my weaknesses?

What parts of myself do I hide?

Why do I hide certain parts of myself?

Who would I be if I felt completely safe to be my most authentic self?

I hope you found this post helpful and please reach out to a medical professional if you are having mental health struggles. Tarot and divination in general are wonderful tools but there is nothing wrong with realizing that you need medical intervention. You owe that to yourself and you are worthy of receiving the best care possible, mind, body, and soul!

The Construction Of The Muse Servitor

The Construction of the Muse Servitor

I have previously written (at length lol) about the creation of servitors, constructed-familiars, and other what-have-yous, but I wanted to touch on a more specific variety that I don't often see discussed: the muse servitor.

Given forth by the student, the muse servitor acts as liaison to and inspiration for all things creative or scientific. It is a piece of oneself separated and fed through acts of service, giving back to its creator further insight, passion and — under the right circumstance — dauntless motivation. Are they a necessity? No, far from. But for those creatives and scholars who are, by circumstance, removed from their specialized communities and/or who struggle to motivate themselves toward artistic ends without "external" validation, the muse servitor can fill this void. Their creation can also act as a mental jumpstart on a new project, a new field of study, or be used to reinvigorate passion after a period of stagnation.

The process of creation is relatively simple but can be complicated (non-derogatory) in any number of ways at the student's preference.

To begin, gather:

An item to embody the muse servitor — could be anything, but association is a powerful tool

A "house" for said item where offerings will be left — it can be elaborate or not; a box, a jug, a shelf, a cabinet, even a folder on a computer

An initial offering — again, could be anything; it could be your own work (preferred) or an artifact you are utilizing to begin a project or course of study

A catalyst — most often this is the student themselves, but you could channel from almost any source: the moon, the ground, the air, color theory, the concept of relativity, etc.; get as freaky as you want with it

To complete the working:

Hold the item in hand and let your mind work. Channel from whichever medium you prefer, if you have chosen one. Let the thing take shape, applying what you must, see what sticks. You can verbalize your intentions or define the nature of the relationship if you'd like, but it isn't required. Once fully formed (by your own estimate), tie this mental/spiritual concept to the object. Again, you may voice what you are doing if you prefer. And in doing so, so is born the muse servitor: name it and place it in its "home."

Note: For those inclined toward the visual arts, this process can be done by way of practice also. For instance, you might draw, paint, sculpt, etc. a portrait of the servitor. If you have chosen to render it on a scale unbefitting a small "home," you may assign it an area by way of hanging or leaning the work against a wall, placing it on an altar, in a corner, etc. and arranging offerings around it. Writers or poets might use the written word to describe in detail the servitor's appearance and character. These collected pages may be housed as above or, as earlier stated, housed in a desktop folder

Present the initial offering. Verbalize, either mentally or aloud, what it represents. Promise to feed it when you can and ask that, should it begin to hunger, it inspire you to create, to read, to work. If you fail to meet its need, speak that it may go freely to the aether, return to the mind, or be left to its own devices.

Feed it regularly. Develop a rapport. Learn its preferences. Call to it when you need inspiration or guidance.

Et voilà!

The work is done.

Or just beginning, rather.

I would add that "feeding" the muse servitor can be done differently or by different means beyond the one "assigned." For instance, you can do a portrait, sure, or compose a song, but you could also create a concept board or a playlist. You might also create the muse with the intention of focusing on music, but feed it drawings or readings about quantum theory instead. Work done to completion is only a part of the servitor's purview. The process is important, too. And gathering concepts, exploring alternate modes of doing and expressing, researching. Anything that feeds a well-rounded understanding also feeds the muse. And with it, the muse gives back passion and inspiration enough to continue. To keep going, keep doing, keep searching. "If not for yourself, then for me."

Happy inspiring!

Tarot tips :

Cleanse your tarot deck on a regular basis. You can use crystals, salt bath, moonlight etc. to do it.

Tap or knock the deck thrice before shuffling cards.

Use your intuition to read energy or images than the actual meanings. This method works for many people if you're having a hard time learning all the meanings.

Carefully look at what object or image or color on the card attracts you the most. It might contain some hidden clues.

Write down your question on a paper. Be specific while asking a question. Changing your question affects the energy and thus provides unclear messages.

Calm your mind down before doing a spread or reading.

Set up a peacful environment for reading tarot.

Associate timelines with the elemental energy of the card. For example, swords corresponds to weeks or autumn and Cups corresponds to months or summer.

Meditate with your deck once in a while.

Trust your deck so much and the cards that fall out or you pull out. Create a healthy bond with your deck.

Interview your deck about how it sees you and what it wants to teach you in life.

Don't lie to your clients, be honest with them and don't sugarcoat things for their good.

Cleanse it after someone else touches your deck.

Don't overwhelm or drain your energy while doing tarot. Set limits for yourself, you need to protect your energy.

Always remember that your future is in your own hands, don't give your power to anything. Use tarot as a tool for advice, don't make it an obsession.

Set clear boundaries with your clients about what questions you can answer and what not.

Thanks for reading. 💕✨️🙏🏽

Simple Ways To Honor Hestia

I haven’t always erred on the side of historical accuracy (I started out as a Wiccan, which essentially means that I relied a LOT on UPG experiences and less on historical accuracy), so I can’t guarantee the following are all historically correct or that you feel it’s appropriate to your own practice with Hestia.  But I thought that writing up a post about how I have honored do honor Hestia, whether historically accurate or not, might help others!

Tea.  Best in the morning, as part of a healthy morning ritual, fire up your stove/electric tea kettle and make a cup of tea, both for you and Hestia.  If you don’t want to give a full cup of tea to her, you can always pour a little into her own cup first.  I just share whatever tea I happen to like, and I try to discard it daily with a prayer.

Food.  I have cats, so I really don’t do this (because I don’t want my cats eating unhealthy amounts of table food), but you could set aside the first bite or portion of a meal as an offering to Hestia.  Alternatively, you could always set aside a portion, go to your altar/shrine, state that it’s an offering for her, and then refrigerate it until you’re ready to eat it.  This, I do pretty often - I even have a container that’s used solely for Hestia offerings.  I know some people feel you shouldn’t eat offerings reserved for the gods, but I don’t have the money to dedicate food in such a way; so I usually eat this as part of my breakfast, or whenever I do a daily devotional to/for her.

Candles & Flames.  This is probably the easiest, most simple way to honor Hestia.  I find that she likes all sorts of fire - and even fire representations!  So feel free to use an electric nightlight instead of a candle, or an electric candle, or even a lamp.  Traditionally, her fire was never let out, but I just don’t feel safe (or confident) in letting fires burn - because I have cats, and if you’ve ever had a cat, you know that they like to investigate things and knock them over - and we’re on a budget, so I prefer not to leave things on 24/7.  I prefer to light a candle (if I’m at the altar saying prayers) or rely on an electric candle (if I know I need to walk away, but want her symbolic hearthfire to burn for a specified time).

Kitchen Altar.  If it were up to me, my house would be FULL of altars just about everywhere.  One space I really love to devote to Hestia is a space in the kitchen, preferably near the stove.  I have an electric stove (it came with our apartment), so it’s not quite the same as having an open flame, but I do like to set aside a candle just for her in that space.  If a candle isn’t your thing, or you’re trying to keep things from getting too cluttered, you could always leave her an offering bowl or dish there, or anything that you feel symbolizes Hestia.

Veiling.  Many followers of Hestia advocate veiling, and I would really suggest giving it a try!  If you’re feeling a little self-conscious about veiling, you can always just put it on as an act of devotion right before prayer, and take it off right after.  If veiling puts you off completely (it’s not for everyone), you can try using a specific clip, ribbon or scrunchie that you use to pull your hair out of your face for devotional purposes.

Prayer Beads.  You can do this with just about any deity, but consider making your own prayer beads or purchasing a set in honor of Hestia.  As part of your daily/weekly/monthly/yearly devotions, you can meditate on this goddess, chant, or recite prayers with every bead.  It’s a great way to really feel connected to a deity, and a great memorization technique when you’re working with a new prayer.

Fireplace.  The hearth is the traditional center of the home, and the traditional symbol of Hestia.  If you have a fireplace, fire it up!  It doesn’t have to be a daily occurrence, but it would be nice to occasionally remind Hestia how much you love her through fireplace maintenance a roaring fire.  If you rather do this outside in a fire pit, go ahead!  If your fireplace is purely decorative (or you’re otherwise not allowed to use the fireplace), try putting a candle in there and lighting it instead.  If you don’t have a fireplace, you can always pull up a crackling fireplace video on roku, or stream a video of such from youtube on your computer, laptop, tablet, TV, or phone.  It makes for a meditation session!

Hospitality.  As the goddess of hearth and home, Hestia is a goddess who would have gone out of her way to make everyone feel warm and welcomed in her abode.  You should do the same!  The next time you have visitors, offer to take their coats, grab them a drink, and make them feel welcomed, comfortable and loved.

Generosity.  I feel that Hestia is a generous, charitable sort who would give you the clothes off her back if you were in need.  Practice generosity; think of ways that you can help out your relatives, friends, neighbors and community.  Do you have a yearly block party or monthly potluck for your neighbors?  Why not try to start one up?  Is there someone that could really use some extra help - maybe a babysitter in the evening, a tutor for a child, a little extra help cleaning their home, or just a shoulder to lean on?  Maybe there’s a new neighbor you haven’t met yet - why not bring a batch of cookies as a gift and introduce yourself?

Food Drives.   Lots of stores have food drive promotions (and sometimes for clothes and school supplies).  The next time you notice one of these going on, donate.  Maybe go through your house and purge what you don’t want/need and donate it.   Donating time to a food shelter or a homeless shelter are also excellent ways to honor Hestia!

Meals.  In the old days, people would use the hearth for cooking.  Now, we have lots of contraptions that aid in cooking - blenders, stoves, grills, microwaves, etc.  Instead of ordering take out or microwaving a frozen dinner, try cooking your meal.  Dedicate the time spent preparing and cooking to Hestia - make it a devotional act!

Prayers.  You don’t need to have a shrine or altar to pray to Hestia, and nor do you need candles, statues or a physical representation.  All you need is you and your intent.  Using things like Homeric or Orphic Hymns are perfectly fine, but so is just speaking from the heart.

Cleaning.  Turn boring, monotonous, daily chores into an act of devotion.  Meditate on Hestia while you clean, or chant, speak prayers, or simply keep her in mind while you do your rounds.  Some like to combine the veiling technique above - put your hair up or veil while cleaning as a devotional dedication.  Don’t focus on perfection; it’s better to develop a daily cleaning routine where a little is done at a time but very frequently rather than an occasional cleaning day spent obsessively scrubbing floors and organizing.

Family Reunions.  Have you gotten together with your family recently?  Organize a family get-together!  This can be in the form of a family game night, a movie night with you and your closest friends/relatives/significant other, or a big party for all of your relatives.  So many of us only speak to our relatives around the holidays, but Hestia emphasizes the importance of building strong family ties and keeping those bonds strong.  If getting together with family is impossible (due to transportation issues, living out of state, etc), pick up your phone and give them a ring!

Healthy Boundaries.  If you’re like me and you struggle with having healthy boundaries between yourself and your family, you can always go to Hestia for help in this area.  You should never feel pressured to always say yes to everything people ask of you - especially if you feel unappreciated or are being taken advantage of or abused.  Hestia can help!

Meal Planning.  A great way to make sure you spend some time with Hestia everyday of the week is through meal planning.  One day each week, every other week, or once per month (depending on how often you go grocery shopping), sit down and plan out in advance the meals you plan to cook.  You should aim for at least one home cooked meal a day, preferably breakfast, lunch and dinner (and factor in a few snacks).  The very act of meal planning can be a devotion to Hestia, and it helps you budget, make a grocery list, and keep things organized.  Plus home cooked meals are delicious!

Budgeting.  A big part of running a househeold is dealing with budgeting issues.  You can devote the time spent on balancing checkbooks, paying bills, and going over savings and expendable income to Hestia.

Household Notebook.  Remember the suggestion of meal planning, budgeting and cleaning?  You can utilize all this - and more - through a household notebook.  All you need is a binder and some paper - and if you have a printer with a hole punch, you can even find beautiful decorative templates to help you out!  A household notebook is basically where you keep everything you need to help run your house.  I have a section for recipes and meal planning, a section for local take out places (with menus, if possible) and their address and numbers, a section for emergency medical information (there’s even a section with receipts for every time our cats have been to the vet).  I keep lists of things that need to be done on a daily basis, weekly basis, monthly basis, and seasonal basis (which I change up as needed).  I even have a section on how to remove different kinds of stains from different surfaces, and how to clean specific things (like electronic equipment, appliances, cleaning supplies, etc).  I even keep track of the recipes I use for homemade cleaning recipes (like homemade dishwasher tabs, or glass cleaner for my eyeglasses, simple disinfectant, etc).  If you have trouble remembering birthdays, anniversaries, and annual celebrations, put it in here!  You can even go one step further and add sections to your household notebook for daily to-do lists, a prayer section for Hestia, and if you’re more along the lines of a pagan vs Hellenic reconstructionalist, you can even include things like spiritual cleaning, altar dedications, statue consecration, etc.  I’m not saying go full blown BoS with this binder, but keeping things that you use on a daily basis as part of your everyday life all in one spot is just practical and convenient.

Seasonal Cleaning.  Everyone knows about spring cleaning, but I wholeheartedly feel that we should do a version of spring cleaning at the change of every season.  This can be a devotional act to Hestia!

Cooking Class.  Hestia is all about hearth and home, and what better way to show your love and appreciation to yourself and to your family and friends than by learning how to cook (better)?  Any time you cook can be a dedicated act to Hestia.

Musical Playlist.  Try putting together a list of songs that really reflect how you feel about Hestia, or put you in a Hestia-like mood.

Domestic Bliss.  Even the time you spend bonding with your significant other and working out your issues can be considered devotional time.  Keep your home happy and filled with love by being open, communicative, and supportive of your partner.

Relaxing Night In.  There’s nothing wrong with occasionally spending a night at home with a relaxing atmosphere, take a bubble bath, read a good book, watch a favorite movie, binge watch a neglected series on Netflix, or doing a hobby that you love.  Give yourself permission to take it easy and practice self-care!

Dinner Parties.  Much like a family reunion, a good way to express appreciation to your friends and family is to have a dinner party.  It doesn’t have to be formal, and you don’t have to be a slave in the kitchen - what matters is that you open your heart and home to those you love.

Prayer Book.  If you work closely with Hestia, consider starting a little prayer  book for her.  There are tons of ways to do this - you can use a diary, a binder, a pronged folder, or even try some simple bookbinding.  I’ve had great success with cutting computer paper in half, punching holes along one side, and binding it together with ribbon.  If you work with other deities, you can make a prayer book for each individual deity, or one large one for all of them.  Keep it on or near your altar/shrine for easy access!

Cookbooks & Recipe Collections.  Another excellent devotional to Hestia!  Track the recipes you try with a cookbook or a recipe collection.  This can even be digital through sites like All Recipes or tracked through apps like Google Drive (which can be synced between your phone and computer).

Home Remedies.  I don’t know about you, but I grew up in a household where my mother always had an aloe plant for burns and irritated skin, salt and water for gargling when I had a sore throat, orange juice and garlic when I felt under-the-weather, and fresh mint leaves for an upset stomach.  If you have holistic or natural remedy leanings, consider devoting the time spent to researching and creating homemade remedies as sacred to Hestia.

Sewing, Knitting, Crocheting, Weaving & Embroidery.  Cottage industries involving thread has always seemed so very Hestia to me.  Learning how to properly darn a sock, sew on a button, or repair ripped seams are things that are SO valuable that extending that over to something like sewing, knitting, crocheting, weaving or embroidery only seems natural.  It’s okay if you discover you don’t like it - what matters is that you gave it a try!

Crafts.  We’re in an trend where having crafts in the home is very much in!  Take advantage of this by looking up different crafts that you can do for your own home to save money, make it look nicer, and give it the aesthetic that fits your - and your family’s - personality.  Time spent creating these things can definitely be dedicated to Hestia.

Interior Decorating.  Just like with crafts, interior decorating can be an exhausting process, but one that is very important.  Most of us want a warm, comforting home, and in order to have that, we need to do what we can to look - and feel - that way.  For some of us, this means investing in a fireplace and mood lighting, while others feel a puffy, comfortable couch is the way to go with a nice flat screen tv.  Others are more bohemian and rustic in their decor, while some like shabby chic touches and refurbished antiques.  Even if you’re a minimalist by nature, using the right combination of colors and accents can really give a homey, comforting feeling.  Take the time to discover your own personal style and figure out ways to translate it into your home.  Anything you do to make your home a loving, comforting environment can be a dedication to Hestia!

💗— Day 1: Love in Magick

💗— Day 1: Love In Magick

● The power of love in magic

These days it is common to see Love’s place in magic in Love spells and the such — but it is important to point out that Love is much more than that.

Love is a strong emotion, always connected with intent (yes, that one that we witches always talk about!), this emotion protects, motivates and manifests. protetor e manifestação. Such strength from this emotion can not be ignored. Though Love Magic is indeed a big part of magic, it focuses on Love as a result of the practice instead of the use of Love itself to acquire whatever you wish for.

As such, if you haven’t before, take the time to feel the Love you have and you’ll see how powerful it is as a potential aid for and in your craft.

● Types of Love

Opening up to the use of Love as a mobilization and strengthening aid in the craft, a question is most likely to appear: what type of love?

Honestly, that is extremely subjective, as we know that Love can be felt and perceived differently, from individual to individual. I do quite like the categories of Greek Love though, so briefly:

Eros: sexual, sensual and erotic passion.

Philia: deep affection, known as friendship.

Ludus: playful love, attraction and brief passion.

Agape: all encompassing love, similar to empathy.

Pragma: long standing love and unchanging love

Philautia: self love.

With that in mind, I hope your forms of love can become great allies in your craft and practices.

🥀💖 Erica's Love Oil 💖🥀
🥀💖 Erica's Love Oil 💖🥀

🥀💖 Erica's Love Oil 💖🥀

this love oil is perfect for love workings, offerings to love deities, or if you're into it...sex magick.

**disclaimer** this is a completely self-researched and self-tested herbal oil. please, do your research, do a test patch on your own skin, and talk with a doctor or medical professional if you are concerned in any way. Not intended for ingestion or internal use. Legally, I cannot be held liable for anything that happens while using this oil. Do not repost text or photos without credit or permission.

I am known to have sensitive skin. DM for sources - there's a lot I don't want to link them all.

This oil was very much made as a desire for a lovely smelling, aphrodisiac oil to be used in love workings and sex magic and possibly, if I could research something well enough...used carefully during intimate times.

If that's not something you're into, then don't use it for those purposes. Since, I've used it to anointing love candles, and honestly for aromatherapy, and for general self-care - mundane or magickal.

🥀💖 Ingredients 💖🥀

Grapeseed oil - carrier oil to dilute ingredients. Known to be safe around the genitals, high in vitamin E, comedogenic rating of 1, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, treats acne and makes skin softer. Ruled by the moon, water - deals with fertility, money, money, romantic love, passion, prosperity

Goldenrod - mine was foraged around my home this pre-autumnal season Supports kidney and urinary health and has been used to treat UTI's. Supports proper blood flow - helping promote intimacy's and supporting the libido. Said to be particularly powerful for men *cough* called golden rod for a reason *cough* Ruled by Venus and air - releases emotional blocks (helping further promote intimacy), divination, love, prosperity, "sealing the deal" in love workings

Hibiscus - I used a tea packet Not for pregnant or breastfeeding women. Exfoliating, hence, not for everyday use. Has been tested to fight infections including UTI's, can lower blood sugar and blood pressure, and one study saw it increase sexual activity in male rats. Fights aging, evens tone, hydrates and moisturizes skin, speeds up wound healing. Ruled by Venus, water, and associated with Aphrodite - passion, love, lust, freedom, prophetic and lucid dreams, beauty, courage watch for side effects such as headache, stomach issues, nausea, as it can lower blood sugar when taken internally. Not what this oil is for, but still something to watch for.

🥀💖 Method 💖🥀

Make sure herbs are dry before using in oil - you don't want your oil to go rancid. Add herbs and oil to container of choice, make sure its air tight. Let steep for as long as you'd like, but the longer, the better. You can strain the herbs if you'd like, but I like the way they look.

Charge however you'd like. Meditate on purpose during creation and after.

please, please, please - DO A PATCH TEST! what works for my skin may not work for yours. I did a couple - one on my inner arm, and one on my inner thigh.

🥀💖 Erica's Love Oil 💖🥀

🥀💖 Notes 💖🥀

Tbh, I used Teva's Hibiscus tea blend because I was impatient and didn't want to wait to buy hibiscus. I double checked all ingredients to make sure they were skin safe - all were - with the note that cinnamon and citric acid can be an irritant when used in high concentration or everyday use.

I did a patch test on my skin, as well as only made a small batch at first. I have had no issues with burning, bumps, or other irritation.

It is of course recommended to uh, not do that, in future batches.

Types of Herbal Remedies

Types Of Herbal Remedies

I’ve compiled a list of types of herbal remedies, with brief instructions on how to make them. Choose your herbs carefully, as some are poisonous, some will interfere with health problems and medications, and some can cause allergic reactions.

If you are concerned about any health issue you have, or worried about herbs reacting with your medications, go talk to your doctor. This post is not intended as medical advice.

Compress

This is usually cloth that has been soaked in a herbal infusion so that it can be applied topically. Useful for skin issues, muscle pain, joint pain, and general aches.

You can make one by soaking cotton wool in a warm infusion of your choice, wrapping the balls in a piece of clean cloth, and applying to the affected area. Once the cloth cools down you can soak it again in the warm tea and reapply.

Infusion

This is basically the herbalist term for tea. The herbs are usually dried and ground before being steeped in very hot water and then strained out. If you use a bag then you can skip the straining.

Tincture

This is similar to an infusion but much stronger, and with alcohol instead of water, which helps to preserve it.

Put your herbs in a jar. Cover them with alcohol (most people I know use vodka). Put the lid on the jar and shake it daily for a month or so, then strain the herbs out. I tend to keep mine in the little dropper bottles, as you normally don’t need to take much at once.

Decoction

I like to think of these as a stronger infusion. You need four times as much boiling water as dried herb, and you want to simmer the mixture for about half an hour before straining.

Syrup

These are herbs mixed with a sugary substance, which makes them easier to consume and helps to preserve them a little. They’re a good way to get your herbs in if you have a sore throat, as they are often quite soothing.

You’ll need a couple ounces of fresh herb per pint of water. Put them on the stove and heat until about half of the water has evaporated. Then you need to add about five tablespoons of sugar/honey/maple syrup per pint of water you used originally (so if you put two pints in the pan, you need ten tablespoons). Keep stirring for about twenty minutes, then take it off the heat and bottle it up. You need to keep syrups in the fridge, preferably in a dark coloured jar or bottle.

Balm

Essential oils and beeswax, basically. Add about twenty drops of essential oil to a cup of melted beeswax, stick it in a jar, let it cool, and there you go! You can mix in juiced herbs if you like, but that’s optional.

Salve

A salve is basically essential oils mixed with beeswax, oils and herbs. I have seen them made with coconut oil, though if you live in a warmer environment then coconut oil won’t work for you as it melts. You need about fifty/fifty dried herbs and beeswax (if you live somewhere warm) or use a mixture of beeswax and an oil like olive or safflower if you live somewhere colder, just so it’s soft enough to use. Use about twenty drops of oil per cup of beeswax. You’ll need to melt the wax in a double boiler, and let the herbs infuse in the molten wax for about half an hour. Then you add your essential oils, and pour the molten salve into the containers and let it cool.

Ointment

This is basically a liquid balm or salve. Follow the methods above, but use oil instead of beeswax.

Bath

When taking a herbal bath, you are basically making a giant cup of tea! Fill an organza bag with your chosen herbs, and put it in the bath while you run the water, then remove it before you get in. You can reuse the bag of herbs, but they lose potency with each use, so I try to avoid doing this.

Poultice

This is a paste of herbs and sometimes other things that is applied to the skin. Used for infections, splinters, burns, boils etc. They’re pretty simple to make, you just mix some dried herbs with a tiny bit of boiling water to form a paste, put it on the area, and use a piece of cloth or gauze to keep it there. If you want to use fresh herbs you just mash them up.

🌱 • Herb Magick 101 • 🌱

🌱 • Herb Magick 101 • 🌱

Herb Magick is one of the oldest types of magick on Earth. It can be traced back to the early history of almost every ancient culture, and much evidence exists suggesting that herbal magick even existed in prehistory.

Put simply, herbal magick is the practice of utilizing the spiritual energy of non-living plant matter. It should not be confused with plant magick - which is utilizing the energy of living plants - or with herbalism - which is utilizing herbs for medicinal healing.

Every species of plant contains a unique type of energy, and using specific herbs (on their own or in combination) allows you to add specific energy to your spells.

In modern witchcraft, herbs can often be thought of as “ingredients” or “flavorings” to a spell. They’re not needed, but they add spice (buh dum tchhh 🥁).

Herbs are amazing because they’re so versatile. The most common ways of using herbs are in tinctures/potions (boiling herbs in water like a tea), in oils (extracting the essential oils from herbs by soaking them in base oils like almond oil or olive oil), in incense (burning the herbs on a candle or on charcoal), in candles (dressing candles with herbs to charge them), and in sachets (carrying the herb with you in a small bag). There are so many more techniques than these, too, and it’s up to you to decide how you like to work with herbs. Their uses are endless, though, and their energy will go wherever you place the herb, so sprinkle with caution!

Some Commonly Used Herbs:

• Sage - for cleansing

• Rosemary - for beauty, femininity, and empowerment

• Chamomile - for sleep, calm, and dreams

• Wormwood - for communicating with the dead and strengthening psychic powers

• Lavender - for calming and releasing

• Vervain - for binding, blessing, and tapping into the energy of the Goddess

• Dandelion - for luck and wishing

• Rose - for love and beauty

• Cinnamon - for good vibes and enticing spirits

• Apple - for abundance

• Cannabis - for detaching the Ego and elevating vibration

Some Herbs to be Cautious of:

• Belladona/Nightshade - poisonous - used for death, dreams, psychic powers, mind control, transformation, and certain types of astral projection

• Henbane/Wolfsbane/Aconite - poisonous - used for uncrossing and reversing

• Arnica - irritant - used for protection and regeneration

• Pokeroot - poisonous - used for aggressive purification

• Vervain - moderately poisonous

• Apple Seeds - poisonous in large amounts - used for tapping into nature energy

• Wormwood - mildly poisonous/hallucinogenic

• Many others so do your research!!!!!

Never ingest anything unless you absolutely know what you’re doing. I repeat, do extensive research!!

There are literally hundreds of types of herbs; study up, and practice!

Happy witching! 🕉

PS: I’ll be creating an herb master post soon, and I’ll update this post with the link when it’s ready.

Basic herb bundle for protection, prosperity and love.

Basic herb bundle for protection, prosperity and love.

You will need:

Cotton twine

Large leaves of basil

3 sprigs of rosemary

3 cuttings of lavender ( leaf and flower on stem)

Leaves /stems of sage (common/garden)

1: Lay out large leaves of basil with shiny side down. Placing twine under these will help with the bundling after.

Basil will serve as the outer shell of the bundle.

Basic Herb Bundle For Protection, Prosperity And Love.

2: Inside the basil layer, lay some sage leave, followed by the rosemary and lavender at the ‘core’ of the bundle.

3: Layer more sage

Basic Herb Bundle For Protection, Prosperity And Love.

4: Lay the last few basil leaves, now shiny side up.

5: CAREFULLY tuck the top layer of basil and fold up the bottom layer of basil.

(Kind of like folding up a tortilla or a pastry shell)

The goal is to get the shiny side of the basil on the outside of the bundle, having the sage and rosemary snug inside.

Use the previously placed twine to fasten the bundle.

Basic Herb Bundle For Protection, Prosperity And Love.
Basic Herb Bundle For Protection, Prosperity And Love.

BE GENTLE-fresh basil will tear easily. Not that it’s a big deal. The bundle will work fine. But, it won’t be as aesthetically pleasing.

6: With a new, longer piece of twine. Wrap the base snug and then wrap the twine firmly (but not so hard you bruise the leaves) and spiral up to the top.

7: Wrap once and tuck the tail to fasten.

8: Hang your bundle where you dry your herbs. I like a window with subtle light.

In a week or two (depending on humidity) it should dry out and be ready for use.

Basic Herb Bundle For Protection, Prosperity And Love.
Basic Herb Bundle For Protection, Prosperity And Love.

Tips:

It helps to occasionally check the tension on the twine. Herbs may shrink when drying Periodically snugging them up can help the bundle keep shape.

Always use caution when burning.

Use a fire safe dish or bowl.

Watch for drifting embers

Keep some form of cover handy to snuff out any flare ups.

**Dry lavender leaf can burn quickly!**

Do not just go waving burning bundles around all willy-nilly.

You got a brain- use it
