You know what? No. No, Hatsune Miku did not write Harry Potter.
J. K. Rowling wrote Harry Potter. And we need to accept that.
Harry Potter isnât some pure unproblematic beacon of perfection that we can just choose to erase the scummy author from and enjoy without guilt. Harry Potter is very much rooted in Rowlingâs view of the world. The blatant antisemitism in the portrayal of the goblins, the entire race of slave creatures that actually really like being slaves and Hermioneâs attempts to free them are largely played off as a joke, the almost complete dearth of canon characters of color (and then when she does put canonical characters of color in, theyâre⌠NaginiâŚ), the complete lack of respect for other cultures (the Japanese wizarding school literally translates to âMagic Placeâ in Japanese, Cho Chang is not even remotely a proper Chinese name, donât get me started on her usage of Native American folklore), the almost complete lack of LGBTQ+ characters, the âDumbledore is gay!â baiting, the lycanthropy-as-HIV metaphor that involves one of the werewolves intentionally infecting as many people as he can, with a preference for targeting children, no lessâŚ
These are all very much present in Harry Potter. Theyâre not things you can just ignore. And theyâre there because Rowling wrote them in.
I know you read Harry Potter as a kid and loved it. I know when you read Harry Potter as a kid you probably didnât even notice how shitty all this stuff was. I certainly didnât. But you canât go back to that time. You canât go back to when you were 10, when you were consuming this media and loving it uncritically without notice or regard for its more problematic elements. You canât go back to being a kid again.
And thatâs okay. It doesnât mean youâre required to wholeheartedly condemn this important part of your childhood. You can still enjoy these books while acknowledging that theyâve got some really shitty things in them. You can enjoy Harry Potter as a mature adult. You donât have to be a kid again to like it. And youâre perfectly allowed to hate on Rowling for her shittiness, past and present, while still loving Harry Potter.
So donât say Harry Potter was written by Hatsune Miku. It wasnât. It was written by J. K. Rowling, warts and all.

tw: self harm
Amber Heard and her legal team played an audiotape of Johnny Depp expressing his desire to harm himself in the courtroom today, which caused Johnny to break down and cry on the stand. And while thatâs sickening, here are some of the things I noticed from this:
Instead of helping him get the help he needed, she chose to record him when he was at his lowest point.
Her team did not ask a single question about the audiotape after they played it. They literally only made Johnny relive that moment of his life, left him crying on the stand knowing he legally cannot talk about it to anybody for 3 whole days.
The audiotape was about Johnny wanting to harm himself. Not her.
There was NO other reason for them to play that audiotape except their wanting to break him down, knowing theyâve screwed up. Thatâs a very low move even for AH. Sheâs still publicly abusing and gaslighting him. And you want me to believe sheâs the victim????

Growing up is actually all about realizing people donât inherently dislike you and itâs a bit odd to assume they do
The only positive thing about JK Rowling being a terf on main was that I could detect and unfollow every single "feminist" page that defended her and were terf on main while doing so too
Good winter cleansing đ§šđ§źđ
when i say âunfollow me if you support trumpâ im not saying it ironically. no, seriously, if you support trump then i dont want your disgraceful ass to be in any way associated with my blog. get out.

"Omg now that Johnny won no one would believe women -"
Imma stop you right there and now. No, you do not have Johnny to blame, you have AMBER for lying and abusing someone, to blame if nobody believes women. As someone who's watched my mother, my aunt, my uncle, my sister and myself, fall into the hands of abusers and watched them get away with it, I'm glad Johnny won, because no one woud say "Oh no he's a kind man he can't be abusive" or "she's just a woman she cannot be abusive" anymore. Johnny stuck out his neck for every Abuse victim and won for us. Amber used society's view to try and hide her lies. As someone who's followed the trial from 2016 (you can imagine how young I was back then) to 2022, you can never, ever tell me, with every evidence out there placed for the world to see that Amber isn't an abuser. We all know the first trial in the UK was unfair because the Sun was hiding the truth, even refusing any of his evidence because the relative of the judge wrote the headlines. The US Virginia court let both have their say and Amber exposed herself.
Maybe now I have hope that when I put out my evidence no one will silence me like what Amber tried to do with Johnny again. This gave me hope because as long as I say the truth I have nothing to fear.
And if you choose to hate on the women that spoke in defence of Johnny Depp, you ARE the one who doesn't like women. You only care about your own narrative of 'feminism' which is supporting and using misogynistic and archaic ways of thinking when it caters to your case, like pretending women cannot be shitty people too. In this case, Amber had the power because media bent to her will and Johnny had nothing left but evidence and the support of his lawyers and fans.
And fuck NBC and their shitty takes on this case btw.
