Today's Seal Is: Some Kind Of Wuppy

I want to leave the JD Vance and destiel memes aside for just a moment to tell you all guys that I, personally, as a Catholic, mourn the loss of Pope Francis.

Over the 12 years that he spent at the helm of the Holy See, Pope Francis proved himself one of the most progressive and reform-minded Supreme Pontiffs we have had, perhaps ever, the pleasure of being led by.

For all his personal failings and blunders -and believe me, there's a list- he did tremendous work on dragging Canon Law and the institutions that make up the Catholic Church towards becoming a better and more modern version of themselves. I can only hope that whoever is chosen as his successor will be even half as committed to internal reform as Francis was, and that he will continue the work Francis sadly leaves unfinished.

AM radio is like literal magic. There is music all around us that we can't hear, and to hear it you just have to tap a crystal (diode) to the earth and listen to it with another magic rock (magnet) and a tin can. You dont even need electricity to make it work because this music around us is literally all the power you need. I think it’s becoming clear how difficult this is to appreciate in certain social media bubbles: Transphobes (including terfs) read Discworld and don’t think it applies to them. Racists read Discworld and don’t think it applies to them. I’ve seen far-right MAGA hat gun-toting white supremacists talk about Discworld and they simply haven’t noticed that they’re openly being mocked for their narrow-minded bigotry with every page.

They’re out there, and they really aren’t as rare as you’d like to believe. When you believe that you’re the default setting, you can simply decide that you’re going to live in a world where you can just ignore anything that doesn’t align with your prejudices. They don’t even notice.

Is transitioning even worth it? i see so many posts every day talking about how being a trans woman in todays society is utter hell. I kind of feel like a girl but I could live without it, yknow? i don't need it in order to be happy. It would be nice but it would be so much effort just to be pelted with a barrage of misery every day from vitriolic bigots.
