i’m afraid that even though i’m in the marauders fandom, i know utterly nothing about barty, evan, and pandora. i know a little about dorcas, but other than that the only slytherin i care for is regulus.

it’s not like i hate them, i just don’t know how to get into them. with the marauders it was easy, i just read atyd. (i love you mkb) but WITH THE SLYTHERINS?? i’m clueless .

i came up with the most crack ship of them all and have been considering writing a one shot for it . . .

i’m very happily taking this invitation to rant abt my favs 😭

most characterizations are fanfics or different to each person, but that’s a given in the marauders fandom. however, js keep in mind that if you disagree with a head canon, that’s fine lmao

BUT ANYWAY here’s my descriptions of lily, mary, marlene, peter, and a little bit of reg !

mary is often portrayed as flirty, self assured, confident, quick witted, intelligent but not overly nerdy or anything. i see her getting over sexualized a lot in fanfiction, and while i dont agree with that, she’s definitely out spoken and the opposite of prude. she takes pride in her appearance and isn’t afraid to hand it to you straight. (i live for no filter mary, she does not sugar coat !!) some popular head canons for her are bi, lesbian, black, plus sized, and kind of being a heart throb. some popular pairings for her are marylily, marylene, and i believe mary/sirius (mainly platonic on the last one).

as for marlene, i could see her being compared to ginny weasley in a way? shy at first but slowly with character development becomes a very strong, powerful, fierce girl. she’s witty, sarcastic, and very loyal. clearly brave and willing to do anything for those that she loves (she’s in gryffindor for a reason, lmao). she’s also on the quidditch team, which i love !! she’s a beater, and can give james a good run for his money when it comes to who’s better imo. in most fanfiction she’s portrayed as a lesbian with short blonde hair. her pairings are usually marylene, dorlene, and blackinnon.

lily is usually treated in two ways within this fandom. a swot who only cares about school work, or a badass who doesn’t like james blah blah blah. i personally see her as a mix of the two, i feel liek she’s very studious and kind of uses it as an escape. has trouble getitng close to people because of her fall out with petunia and severus. but i also think she can get very defensive if her close ones and is very down to earth and over all a lovely girl. she’s sometimes headcanoned as lesbian, bi, or plus sized. popular ships for her are jily, jegulily, marylene, and pandalily.

as for peter, i could go on and on and on. seeing him portrayed as if he wasn’t one of the marauders upsets me, because he was. they love pete! that’s why he was made secret keeper, that’s why his betrayal hurt so badly. (off topic there, my bad) anyway, he’s definitely the quieter of the marauders. i don’t think he isn’t just as smart, sarcastic, and caring, i think he’s just very insecure and talent doesn’t come to him naturally. due to his lack of confidence, i can see him following who ever makes him feel the most important, because he can’t feel important himself. (ei: james, voldemort). popular headcanons for him are plus sized, love chess, and i feel like occasionally gay? anyway, popular pairing are him and dorcas, him and james, and i believe peter/barty is kinda a thing?

regulus is very closed off and cold. his family issues make him weary of getting close to people, but he feels a lot of love and just wants to be loved. (hence why he followed his parents directions blindly) i do think he has good in him, but find it too late. he’s often seen as sarcastic, intelligent, quite, and bookish. popular headcanons for him are gay, trans, and plays piano. his popular ships are jegulus, jegulily, and barty/regulus.

Lily sighed, feeling a familiar frustration bubbling up. She was in the common room with Marlene and Mary, both of whom were looking at her with a mix of amusement and exasperation. Earlier that morning, a fifth-year Hufflepuff had nervously asked her to Hogsmeade during breakfast, and she had kindly declined his offer. Her friends had watched the whole scene unfold, and now they were incredulous that she had turned down someone they considered one of the better-looking boys in their year.

"I don't have high standards; I just want the minimum," Lily protested, crossing her arms defensively. Both her friends raised their eyebrows at her, clearly unconvinced. "It's true! I just want someone who knows how to make me laugh, someone who's kind to those around them, someone who's smart and sweet, someone—"

She cut herself off abruptly when a loud noise of things falling to the ground caught her attention. All three of them turned their heads in unison to see James Potter stumbling through the portrait hole, his hands full with a precarious stack of board games, a fluffy pillow tucked under one arm, and a colorful assortment of mismatched socks spilling out of his pockets.

"Alright, Evans?" he called out, trying to play off the disaster he'd just caused with the game boxes, attempting to act as if he were carrying the normal stuff a student did every day.

Lily shook her head in disbelief, hiding her face in her hands. "I—" she sighed deeply. "I want that one."

“We don’t read and write poetry because it’s cute,” Christopher started, feeling slightly agitated and like he needed to prove his point to the arrogant airhead, Sirius Black. “We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race!” He spoke finally, tucking his book underneath his arm.

Remus stood next to the blonde boy, as tall and gangly as ever. Sirius was in front of them. The black haired boy looked greatly amused, his pink lips turning up to form a coy smirk. He wanted to take the piss out on them.

Chris sighed, pushing his weight between his feet, and was about to awkwardly depart as Remus piped up. “And the human race is filled with passion.” He said roughly, turning to face the shorter boy, holding eye contact. Chris felt his heart flutter as he smiled. Sirius, one of Remus’ best friends, looked terribly annoyed. But he just held his eyes in contact with Chris. Like they were the only two in the room. Like they were something untouchable and meant something. Really meant something. Bloody Lupin.
